The PortaBrace CAR-4CAM Cargo Camera Case for Protectionfrom PortaBrace CAR-4CAM Cargo Camera Case for Protectionis designed to accommodate a pro video camera up to 24" long. It has an ultralight design with dual-rigidity foam for maximum protection to your equipment. This case is constructed using long-life materials including 1000-denier Cordura nylon and solid steel clip rings. Reversed zippers and an anti-skid waterproof bottom panel provide increased water resistance and durability.

The case interior height of 12.5" holds a fully assembled, shoot-ready camera so you can arrive at your destination and begin shooting immediately. The lid comes with an easy-grip leather handle for fast access to your camera and gear. There are front and back slip pockets for carrying SD cards, documents, cables, and white balance cards. The two side pockets are perfect for batteries, extra flashes, and other accessories.

The silver/gray interior makes it easy to find your gear. The interior can be customized by repositioning the interior divider system, which includes a horizontal divider, a hanging mic pocket, a padded divider pouch, a padded 7" lens cup/storage pouch, a camera tie-down, and a divider camera cradle.

A: I'm not familiar with the UX180's dimensions, but my Car-2Cam -labelled PortaBrace case measures 17 Lx7 Wx9 H on the inside. There's some taper toward the top -- and also some give in the width -- but those are the dimensions without touching the padded walls or stretching anything. I've used PortaBrace equipment cases for pro video cameras, recorders and camcorders for 35 years, and highly recommend them. Photo1

A: The dimensions of the case are 21 x 8 x 10 and it weighs 6 pounds. The pouch is an accessory component that goes inside the case that can also be used separately. It is 18 x 11 wide at its narrowest point.

Q: 6. Will the Canon c200 fit inside with the zipper closed?

A: You have to take the camera apart to put the C200 in this bag. This is the bags downfall.

Q: 7. The SPECS tab says its interior dimensions is 24 long but the OVERVIEW tab says its designed for cameras up to 21.75 long. Which is it? Can you put a 23 long camera in it? Thanks

A: The interior dimensions on this unit are 24 , the reason Porta Brace recommends it for cameras that are 21.75 long is so that you can comfortably take it in and out of the case. You may be able to put a longer camera in the case, but it may not be as easy to put it and take it out, it could be a tight squeeze. The camBag 650 from camRade can hold a camera that is up to 25.6 long, it might be a better fit for you if your camera is 23 inches.

Q: 8. I need a case to keep my Blackmagic Cinema Camera rigged with rails and matte box, for storage and car transport. Any extra items (lenses, cards, etc.) I can fit are a bonus--the main concern for me is fitting the rigged camera. The matte box is 11 wide, and the bag dimensions are listed as 8 wide. My question is, how flexible is the bag width? Since this is not a hard case, I assume there's some play here. Thanks!

A: I have a Black Magic Production Camera. It barely fits the camera and rails. Not sure you can get the box or the lens in there. Because of the quality of the bag, there's not a play or stretch to be had.

Q: 9. Does this meet Airline carry on bag dimensions?

A: Unfortunately it does not. Carry-On size tends to be 22 x 14 x 9" and this bag is well over that at 27.0 x 15.0 x 14.5".

Q: 10. does this meet carry on requirements?

[Black] Got this bag to carry around a bunch of gear. Has lots of space, easily organized with multiple pockets and is made incredibly well. Certainly not the cheapest bag out there but I doubt you can find one of better quality. 5

[9.25 lb] May it be on location photography or small-budget filmmaking, this bag is always by my side. I throw everything I own in it (lenses, filters, camera bodies, rolls of tape, film rolls). The size is perfect, I even get to sneak my 13 laptop in the front pocket. I love this bag. 5

[9.25 lb] Not ever having owned my own personal Porta Brace case, I ended up choosing this one. I really was looking for something on the smaller side. It was between this and the Car-1. I'm glad I went with this size instead as the added length is just enough for my wireless sound gear. I also think the orange brown + black looks nicer than the blue. You want to look stylish in front of clients.What really shines about the Porta Brace brand for me, is the experience and thought that goes into the cases. All of the pockets upon pockets are designed for practical use and its easy to rearrange your gear for each shoot. I was hesitant about the snake rolling foam wall that it comes with because I'm used to the normal flat walls that come with pelican cases. The snake works really well actually and can be folded to make precise corners and compartments. On the Con Side, it is a little bulky when fully loaded. But that's more an effect of me loading every pocket. You can tell it will swivel a lot around you if you are rushing around with the bag. But once it's on the ground it's a pleasure to have all of your gear readily available.Perfect bag for standard video work. Good for keeping in car, not so much airplane compartments, it's a tad big for that even if it might be legal size. It was worth every dollar it costs. 5
