Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How much ink is in a Epson 96 ink cartridge? Ink for the new P800 is 96 ml. Just wanted some idea for comparison. Thanks

A: The consensus on the internet is 11 ml's. B&H won't let me send you a link in this response, but the website Printerville reviewed the R2880 and goes into quite a bit of detail about how many prints (and at what cost) one of those 11-ml cartridges will print. You can do the math yourself to see how the 96-ml version would compare. I am a photo hobbist who prints small number of prints with occasional big projects such as 30-50 prints for a school sports team. In four and one-half years, I have used 5 to 7 of those 11-ml cartridges for each color. And I have learned to run the printer at least once weekly--without fail-- to keep the print nozzles from drying out (I print the Epson test pattern so I know all colors have been used.) Hope this helps.

Q: 2. I own an Epson Stylus Pro 4880, which has been working well since I bought it approximately 5 years ago. I am considering purchasing a new printer, and am considering the Epson p800. I also looked over the Epson 4900, which hasn't received very good reviews. I like the ability to print 17 x20, which both printers can do, and the print resolution is advertised as being the same on both models. I guess my question is why would I buy the more expensive 4900? What advantage does the 4900 offer that the P800 lacks?

A: Congratulations on making the 4880 work for you; I never could, but mine was used, and I never knew if it was really working correctly or not. But my P800 has worked better than I expected.I previously had a Chinese version of the 3880, which suited me well, but the P800 with the roll-paper feature is better for me and what I do. It's easier to set up and use than the 4880. Can't speak for the 4900.

Q: 3. How much ink is in each 96 cartridge?

A: 11 ml

Q: 4. Will this cartridge work on the Epson SC P-807 I purchased in Asia?

A: This cartridge is for US printers .

Q: 5. I switch papers in my classroom. Is it okay to switch partially used cartridges back and forth between regular and matte or will that mess up the printer?

A: You can switch in and out partially used matte and photo black ink cartridges on the R2880.

Q: 6. will this work with the p900?

A: Epson T850400 UltraChrome HD Yellow Ink Cartridge (80 ml) BH #EPT850UCY is not compatible with the P900. For the Epson P900 you would need to get the Epson T46Y Yellow UltraChrome PRO10 Ink Cartridge (50mL) BH #EPT46Y400.

Q: 7. What is the page yield for these cartridges and for what size page? I realize page yields are approximate. 80ml sounds good, but for $55 apiece I'd like to know how far that goes.

A: I ran (150) sheets of 8.5 x 11 inch premium glossy paper with full ink coverage and full bleed. The cartridge is showing half full. When running that number of prints, I tend to use light black and vivid light magenta and light cyan at a greater pace, running those inks down to about 25% with each run. Your mileage may vary.

Q: 8. Will this work in a Stylus Pro 3880?

A: No, this ink cartridge is only compatible with the P800 printer.

Q: 9. Will this work in the Stylus Pro 3880?

A: No, The following ink cartridge is only compatible with the Epson P800

Q: 10. Do you8 have a recycle program for ink and toner cartridges?

A: Even though I usually buy these cartridges from B&H, I take my used ones to Staples for recycling. I get credit for them in the same way I do for ink cartridges I've bought from Staples. I find it easier to just take them in when I go for office supplies than to pack them up and ship them somewhere (like back to B&H). My guess is that other stores that take cartridges for recycling (e.g., Best Buy) would also take them.

[Light Black] I never use third-party inks in my P800. Excellent output using this ink.

[Inkjet Printers] This is one of the designated inks for the Epson P800 printer which I have had for about 10 years and neither the printer nor the ink has ever failed. The ink does not dry out or clog the jets.

[Light Black] When I come face to face with Hulk in the woods, When I'm watching a heron on a lake, when I'm hiking up at 10,000 ft, I want to know I'll have real black and white and real eye popping colors when I print with Epson inks. And, If I have any problems with anything photographic I know I know I can get real help from real people at B&H.
