[Black] This is the best of both the old systems.  I found that the old system of foam cubes was too limiting and did not fit my approach to storage.  The old compartment system did not have enough padding as far as I was concerned.  This new system is the best of both worlds.

[5.5 lb] I shoot real estate and have 2 cameras, a drone, a gimbal, 2 flashes, and a bunch of extra stuff (batteries, diffusers, chargers, etc) that I need on every shoot. This ended up being the perfect divider set for my Pelican! Fits my Canon 6D, BMPCC6K with a 16-35mm, Crane 3 LAB gimbal, 2 extra lenses, and a ton more stuff. Also got the lid organizer that works great for all my batteries and stuff. Awesome buy.

[5.5 lb] This divider set is a awesome product, less the minor oops of not having a zipper top for the set and a lid organizer as a part of the set. Still makes a fabulous set. I am using this for my photography equipment and couldn't be more excited about it. Thanks so much!!

[25 x 19.5 x 14"] I used to have the pick-and-pluck foam in my Pelican 1620 case. Cheaper, but very frustrating because you can't change anything once you set it up. Also, it comes apart really easy under normal use. The padded divider set solves all the problems of the pick-and-pluck foam, as well as allowing safe storage of much more equipment. Also, since I have the lid organizer for my 1620 case, I don't need the top foam, which means I can use it for sound deadening in my office.

[Black] When I purchased my 1620 Pelican case it had a two level equipment set up with die cut foam in the bottom half and a padded adjustable divider for the top section. I used the case this way for a couple of years with the bottom cut out for a 500mm f4.0 and a 300mm f2.8 lens with room for some filters and a battery charger. With the new padded divider set there is a main lower insert which has a cut out area for a smaller divided tray shelf that covers 2/3 of the top area. The remaining third consists of three deep wells for longer lenses upright. I am now able to store and cary more equipment due to the nature of the adjustable dividers. The case can hold the following. 500mm f8.0 mirror lens, 80-400mm VR, 200mm f4.0 micro, 105mm f2.8 micro, 17-55mm f 2.8DX, 18-200mm DX, 50mm f 1.4, 4.5mm f 2.8 sigma DX fisheye, 10.5mm f 2.8 fisheye, 12-24mm f 4.0, SB-800 strobe, Epson P2000 storage device, Kenko Extension tube set, 1.4 and 1.7 Teleconverters, Nikon D300 with MB-10 grip, NIKON D100 IR converted,and numerous other devices like CF cards, cleaning supplies, loupe for screen viewing in sunlight, cable releases, etc.. The case can hold an incredable amount of equipment and the adjustable padded divider set makes it all easily accessable while staying well protected. The case doubles as a foot rest / table in my living room when not in the vehicle on the way to a shoot.
