The leica r cine gearfeatures 4 lightweight plastic gears that allow you to drive most geared cine or ENG-style lenses. The gears can replace the original aluminum drive gears for CINEGEARS lens motors, providing a cost effective solution to handle surprises in the field.

Each gear is only 38mm in diameter, and features a captive mounting screw. The smaller diameter of the replacement gear, as compared to the standard drive gears, may provide smoother movement as you drive the lens with your motor. Each gear is labeled allowing you to easily select the right gear for your lens. The gear marked 0.8 is for cine-style lenses. Gears marked 0.5 and 0.6 are standard for ENG-style lenses.

Q: 3. Does this fit the Sony 18-105mm f/4 G OSS?

A: This gear may be too small for the 18-105mm, plus it is meant for specific Zeiss lenses. Instead we recommend something like the Wide Open Camera Universal Lens Gear, this will work with the 18-105mm.https://bhpho.to/2mtNn2G

A: Hi, no this product is made for POV capture with the camera mounted to the crossbar, facing forward and properly balanced with the weights on the back of the helmet. Thank you for shopping at B&H!

Q: 7. Will it work with Otus 100mm? Thanks for the answer in advance.

A: Yes, the Lens Gear size large will work on the Zeiss Otus 100mm lens.

Q: 8. What are the dimensions of this unit (Mini)? Specifically, what is the outer diameter of the focus ring? What is the outer diameter of the entire unit? What is the width of the focus ring? What is the width of the entire unit?

A: The dimensions of the ZEISS Mini Lens gear are 85mm OD and 65mm ID.

Q: 9. This this the correct one for the Milvus 15mm f/2.8?

A: No, this gear ring works for Lenses 86-93mm in Diameter and the Milvis 15mm measures 102mm in diameter.

Q: 10. How much is the difference in size from L and XL? I don't want me to be out of adjustment when putting the camera and counterweights on. I would like you to tell me about your experience in use and that it remains exactly in the head so that it does not move.

A: The measurements overlap, as the S/M size range is 21.3-23.6" and the L/XL is 22-24.4". I recommend measuring the circumference of your head, by wrapping a string around your forehead and then measure the length of the string.

[0.07 lb] It works with my Lumix camera bodies and was super easy to swap out lens mounts with the original PL mount. Definitely recommend.

[0.07 lb] Having dealt with adapters over many years, you know that nothing comes close to a PL mount (don't get me started on positive lock EF, not even close... plus even Canon has kicked EF to the curb). LPL now takes PL and makes it literally bigger and better. For whatever reason, changing PL lenses always took a while to get it to sit in perfect for the lock to work, but so far with LPL it's been a piece of cake every time. Maybe that's an added bonus thanks to the rear guide? Anyhow, you may be thinking well the LPL to L is still a click-in adapter to the camera body. Correct, but Ron has created a collar that allows you to bolt the collar down to a plate along with the camera cage, then tighten the collar on the adapter and it's not moving. To be honest, even without the collar, these mounts are super accurate, so very little play with them to start with, but the collar just locks everything down tight. I always hated when using a follow focus (especially a focus motor) and every time you made an adjustment it shifted the lens in the mounts. Even the tiniest bit of movement showed up in the shot, so when you have two weak points, you get a lot of movement when you throw in some torque. With this setup, any movement between the lens and camera is now completely gone. I bought 4 LPL to L mounts and collars, instantly you should realize that is a big investment, but 100% worth it. Every time I use them, they make me happy, so thank you Ron and crew for continuing to push this industry forward!!

[1.5" / 38 mm] I bought this because i needed to change the fujinon .06 pitch gear to mate with my film .08 pitch gear. its solid, makes a great connection and operates smoothly. i am sure this happens with all ff but on rapid pulls you can hears the gears turning. its not over audible and i havent heard sound department complain yet.

[1.5" / 38 mm] Very right build. So tight, it can be hard to remove the lens once attached and tightened. A good thing. 10/10, would buy again.

[1.5" / 38 mm] I'm a big fan of the old Contax Zeiss 50mm and using this lens with the Metabones adapter on the S1H is a dream. Great images, tight fit. The Contax lenses take a little getting used to in terms of the mount, but it can be done. Highly recommended if you like the look of vintage lenses.

[0.07 lb] I have so many vintage lenses and I want to convert them all into LPL mount. And I love and trust Simmod. This adapter is expensive, yes, should it worth this much? No. But it’s made of very high quality materials. Not sure if it’s the L mount or this adapter but it wiggles just a tiny bit. Tiny but it’s there. Doesn’t bother me. My next step will be getting their conversion kit for FD SSC lenses. Then this expensive purchase will become more valuable. Also, super happy that Simmod partnered with BH! This way I can get all the simmod parts, accessories with free shipping and no tax with Payboo!

[1.5" / 38 mm] Loved the contax look on the SL but always hated adapters because of the play and size. This adapter is slim, rock solid and has no play. It feels like it's apart of the camera. It's worth all the money.

[1.5" / 38 mm] I own (and love) my newer Blackmagic Design 6k camera with full frame sensor and Leica L mount. I also have a number of wonderful new and old Zeiss PL mount fixed cinema lenses. (18mm - 200mm) So when I saw this adapter for sale at B&H, along with a good review of it, I took the plunge. I am not disappointed.

With this adapter, a fairly heavy Zeiss lens with ARRI PL mount, like their CP.2 25mm for example, hangs off the Blackmagic camera with no discernible wiggle. The lens goes on and off a bit tight, but hey, that's what I wanted. It looks great too, with excellent machining and black surface coating.

Note that — nothing to do with this excellent adapter itself — my oldest 1970s vintage Zeiss Super-16 lenses, while still producing great images, do vignette at the image corners, from 9mm to 16mm when the Blackmagic camera is set to FF 6k, exactly as I expected. But I could not have verified that without this Simmod adapter. Note also that simply changing the Blackmagic camera setting to capture a more restrictive Super-35 4k size, allowed more of my older PL mount Super-16 lenses to be used. The lens coating on those older Zeiss is not quite as nice as the newer CP.2 or CP.3 but still hard to see much difference in most lighting conditions. Again, this Simmod adapter allowed me to test all this.
