The 130 x 170mm Cokin X-Pro ND Filter 130x170mm 2-Stopis a neutral density filter providing a 2-stop exposure reduction. This 0.6 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By increasing your aperture or slowing your exposure time, you can control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

Cokin filters are constructed from optical resin and are notably light in weight, have a high resistance to shocks and drops, and provide optimum light transmission for high image quality. This filter is compatible with the Cokin X-Pro filter holder.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there something in the package that can protect the filters in the field? If not, what do you recommend? Thanks for your help! :)

A: Not really. The filter comes wrapped in a lens cloth, inside a cardboard sleeve that is inside a plastic sleeve. Basically sales & shipping packaging, but it can be used temporarily. There are dedicated filter containers that would be better in the field.

Q: 2. Is this a hard grad ND filter? I believe it is from the description but wanted to check. My instructor urges me to buy a 2-stop or 3-stop soft graduated neutral density (grad ND) filter. If this is not the right one which one do you offer for the A series of Cokin filters?

A: Yes, this is a hard graduated ND filter. The soft 121 Graduated ND filter by Cokin is designated as such with an S after the number, so you are going to want this one: http://bhpho.to/1hwdrCw

Q: 3. Just wondering if this filter is classified as soft, medium or hard edge? Thanks

A: It's not a graduated ND filter so there is no edge on it. The same amount of light is blocked across the entire ND filter.

Q: 4. Can I use the Cokin X-Pro ring, filter holder and 130x170mm filters with 77mm nikon lens?

A: You can use the Cokin X-Pro filter holder and 130 X 170mm filters with a Nikon lens that has a 77mm filter thread. You would simply need the Cokin X-Pro 77mm Adapter Ring (B&H # COARXP77) to mount the X-Pro filter holder on your lens.

Q: 5. How many mm is this filter? L&W?

A: Cokin NUANCES Extreme Z-Pro Series ND 1.8 Filter (6-Stop) is 100 X 100 X 2 mm.

Q: 6. Is this filter waterproof ?

A: The Cokin 82mm NUANCES Variable ND Filter (1 to 8-Stop) won't be harmed by a few drops of water, but it's a good idea to avoid submerging it in water.

Q: 7. Does it have hard stops at 1 and 8 or it rotates 360?

A: No, the Cokin 58mm NUANCES Variable ND Filter (1 to 8-Stop) does not have hard stops.

Q: 8. Is it possible to buy a polarizing filter 130 for Cokin X-PRO Filters thanks

Q: 9. Hi, I was curious as to whether or not the CokinNXZ64 was compatible with Canon cameras. I am using the Canon EOS5D and a cannon28-135 lens?

A: Its certainly compatible, you will need an adapter ring and a filter holder. The item #'s are COBZE01 & COARZP72 .

Q: 10. It looks like the rotation lever's Does the rotation lever's sticking out prevent mounting a lens hood over it?

A: The following unit will adapt to some hoods and others not. We usually suggest using rubber threaded hood when in need. Sensei Wide-Angle Rubber Lens Hood (67mm) BH #SELHR2W67 • MFR #LHR2-W67 https://bhpho.to/3KwlHml

[Solid ND] I bought this as an inexpensive way to achieve the silky water effect. I use it with my 50 mm 1.8 on my D300. It works like a charm. I might go for the next darker one also.

[Rigid Plastic] I have owned and used the Cokin System since 1978 when it was first introduced. I believe this system is a great asset as you can change filters easily in no time flat in any type of shooting situation. I look forward to using these filters for more years to come.

[Rigid Plastic] use it for slowing down motion, getting that dreamy look, occasionally combine it with the 2x (0.6) density to really get long exposures.

[Rigid Plastic] I was looking for a great variable ND for video and this one is almost perfect. The extending knob is just the right size and easy to move, but I wish there were hard stops at the Min and Max markings. Overall highly recommend.

[Solid ND] An AHA moment- when you see How they did that. Seems this is a must-have in order to get the richness we see from the pros. I'm pulling it out often now.

[0.45 lb] Great glass that produces clean images. Some vignetting when stacking, but that's hard to avoid. Overall, I couldn't be happier.

[Rigid Plastic] Perfect! Lightweight and aiding in slowing down my shutter speed, as expected. Now, I just need to find the perfect filter holder for the assortment of Cokin filters that I have accumulated.
