Q: 1. I'm a tad confused about the 2-step weight specs. 2-steps, 10 and 22 lbs(4.5 - 10 kg) ....what does this mean? I shoot with a fairly light DSLR set-up and am slightly concerned about reviews regarding the fluid heads performance with minimal weight.

A: I have been shooting with the SOLO 20 for about a year now. Most of the time I shoot with the Canon 600 F4, 1.4 converter, and 1D MKIV without looking at the actual weights I would say its about 17 pounds. I think it would be more stable with a bigger tripod, but I'm not interested in packing around anything bigger. I also shoot the 1D MKIV with the sigma 150-600mm sport lens on this tripod and it as solid as a rock (11 pounds or so.) I would like to see one improvement to this tripod; I feel the first leg stop on this tripod is too tight, if the legs where out a little more on the first stop the tripod would be more stable with 20 LB load. The next setting on the tripod is too wide, maybe they could add one in the middle. I have been very happy with this tripod worth the money. I rented it from lens rental before I bought it.Harlan

Q: 2. Is this tripod compatible with the following spreaders?https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/598801-REG/Miller_993_993_Mid_level_Spreader.htmlIs this tripod compatible with the following Feet? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/254597-REG/Miller_475_475_Rubber_Feet_Pads.html If these are not compatible can you recommend the items that are?

A: no this is not compatible with the Miller 993 Mid-level Spreader

Q: 3. Can I buy the tripod without the head? If so, please post link.

A: the tripod without the head is the Miller Solo DV Aluminum Tripod with 75mm bowl- Supports up to 44 lb (20 kg), the B&H part number is B&H # MI1630

Q: 4. Is this suitable for canon c100 mark ii with shotgun mic, cinevate duzi v4, and canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens, and yes for long term ?

A: This Tripod has a load capacity between 4.4 to 11 Pounds. The combination of items you listed will be pushing that load capacity. I recommend the Miller SOLO DV 20 instead, B&H # MIDS20SDV2, which has a load capacity up to 22 pounds. It will better be able to handle the items you listed and it is a great long term investment.https://bhpho.to/2AnvSJo

Q: 5. Would this tripod work well with a mediumly rigged FS7 + Sony 18-110mm zoom lens?

A: This tripod has a 22 pound load capacity. It will depend on what is in your full rig, but it is certainly possible to use this with an FS7 depending on all of the other accessories you have. You will just need to keep the load at or below 22 pounds.

Q: 6. Has anyone checked the tripod/bag under the plane before? Is it a padded bag?

A: The case is padded, but I wouldn't trust checking it in by itself. If you remove the head from the sticks, they will fit comfortably in a large duffle bag. Then you'll still have room for extra gear :)

Q: 7. Does the head accept a standard Manfrotto 501 sliding plate?

A: We're afraid not. This head uses the Miller 1204 style plate. https://bhpho.to/2Use2dY

Q: 8. Does the tripod work with Canon 5D Mark III?

A: yes

Q: 9. Greetings. What is the difference between the new CX6 fluid head and the old CX6 fluid head?

A: Unfortunately, the new version has yet to be available to us and no explicit specifications have been provided at this time by the manufacturer, thus we recommend posing your inquiry directly to Miller for an expedited and accurate response: https://bit.ly/35gWVo8

Q: 10. Can I use this with an sachtler FSB8 head?

A: You will need an adapter to fit the Sachtler video head's 75mm ball base into the Miller tripo's 100mm bowl. Here is one that is a high quality answer. Sachtler Adapter 75/100 75mm Ball Base to 100mm Bowl Adapter B&H # SA3906. Here is a more affordable alternative. Manfrotto 319 75mm to 100mm Bowl Adapter B&H # MA319.

[Aluminum] Solid build; great fluid head performance. I love the screw-release legs as opposed to latches.

[13 lb] I bought this as a travel tripod for a documentary shoot in Europe last spring. The legs collapse down small enough to fit into my checked luggage and I am able to easily fit the Air head in my carry on camera case. All-in-all, it is a fairly lightweight, efficient and sturdy solution for creating buttery smooth pans and tilts, adjustable to a broad range of different heights to cover nearly any situation.Simply stated, the Miller Air makes shooting fun again and has easily become the preferred tripod in my collection. The quick setup time, its rock solid build quality, and the agility it provides to move around and grab a variety of shots in a timely manner makes this my go-to tripod for nearly every assignment. If you've ever used a Miller head, you'll feel right at home with the Air and the professional quality and precision it delivers. I use it regularly with my FS100, Sony SLTs and now my A7Rm2 rig and I couldn't be more pleased with the results!

[3] This is by far the best tripod I have ever used. Extremely well built and without any kinks in the pan/tilt action. Thank you for the people at Miller for assembling such a wonderful system. Absolutely no complaints and 110% worth the investment

[3] This I'm thing is truly a beast of a fluid head for the price. As a wildlife filmmaker I am generally using huge O'Connor heads with massive lenses. This little rig gives those beasts a run for their money. In a pinch I have used this as a replacement head with a Gemini and a 150-600 lens and it was stable and smooth as could be. It also works great for my timelapse and slider setups. The three stops of resistance was scary at first but I honestly rarely use anything other than the second level of resistance. Absolutely recommend!

[Aluminum] At this price point this head is one of the best I've used. The leg system is all preference and these are amazing.

[13 lb] We have the Compass 20 but needed something smaller to travel with. This is lighter and shorter, but there doesn't seen to be much if any compromise on quality, strength, and stability. The max payload is a little lighter and there are a few less settings on the head. The legs are very strong.

[3] great tripod and head for light to hefty dslr frankenrigs and very smooth and adjustable pan and tilt drag. pretty good counterbalance.
specially if you get the long slide plate and use a long dove plate on it when using long and heavy lenses with matte boxes, etc.
wish there was hook under the head to stabilize with weight!!

[75 mm Bowl] I've been using Miller solo legs with a older compass head for years. This is a great upgrade. I love the addition of hash marks and numbers on the legs. Much easier to see that the legs are even, or to recreate the height at a later date. I love the added counterbalance options of the CX8 head. This thing is solid and well build and made for heavy use.
