Dry-Lam Trade-Lam Commercial Copolymer Laminating Film is a very flexible type of film since the internal copolymer resins achieve a very effective adhesion factor. This film is made to bond with a wide variety of natural and synthetic stocks.

Q: 1. What is the largest print you can dry mount? How do you dry mount prints that are larger than 18 x 23?

A: I do a lot of 16x20 prints, but to do larger than that , say a 20x30, you just pass the print through the press and do it in sections. Just make sure you don't over lap the mounting tissue if it's not large enough to cover your entire size, or you will see a line in your final print.

Q: 2. can one person move this item

A: The unit weighs close to 75lbs. I would recommend that two people be present to move it. A single strong person could perhaps lift it momentarily if they have the upper body strength, but in general I would not advise to lift that weight alone.

Q: 3. What size mil are these pouches? 3 or 5 mil?

A: The Dry Lam 2-Sided Gloss Laminating Pouch (12 x 18", 100-Pack) is 5 mil thick

Q: 4. Wondering if unit can be used to heat press lining to fabric?

A: I am not exactly sure of what mean by this application. If the temperature range is ok for the adhesive I don't see why not. The ends are open such that wider material can protrude from the sides.

A: This is 635mm wide. It can be cut smaller with the right tools, but unfortunately B&H does not provide that service.

A: You can mount a 17x22" print using the D&K 210M Commercial Dry Mounting Press - 18.5 x 23"--the actual size of the plate is 18.5x23".

Q: 7. What is the largest size print that can be pressed all at once, without shifting the print?

A: The D&K SE-1406 has a Platen Size of 23 x 18.5" / 58.4 x 47 cm. So the that is the largest size print and or matte board that can fit.

A: This mounting press is USA voltage only.

Q: 9. Can I use foam board with the dry mounting press?

A: It looks as though you can mount onto foam core--although we do not do so here. I would keep the temperature on the low side to not melt the foam core-no higher than 185-190? and maybe adjust the pressure if needed. I found the manual online that speaks a little bit to foam core use (but I can't place the link here)And there is a type of foam core that has the adhesive already on it (but I can't place that link here either...): it's called Speed Mount by Bainbridge.It looks like many people have success with foam core--hope this helps!
