Q: 4. Can I use any electric drumset trigger with this? I have a Pearl Redbox kit and I'd like to switch the brain out for this.

A: According to Roland, when it comes to connecting non-Roland pads and triggers to the Roland TD-50X Prismatic V-Drums Sound Module, results can vary and chances are you will have to play around with the sensitivity and threshold settings of each pad or trigger in the module to get it to play smoothly, without crosstalk or mis-triggering. The latest TD-50X module now includes digital trigger ports which are compatible with the Roland digital pads only.

Q: 5. Does this have the new Version 2 system upgrade?

A: The OCTAPAD SPD-30 is available by special order so it will be shipped to B&H directly from Roland only when we receive orders from customers. The item will be the most recent version available from Roland.

A: No, these samples are in the SampleTank format and cannot be imported into another program.

A: Hi Chun Man,Yes,the adaptor voltage support 100v to 240v. Sorry I am not using the stand so unable to answer you....

Q: 8. Since this has a built-in preamp, would you connect it to line input? Also, wouldn't it need phantom power since it's a condenser mic?

A: The integrated pre-amp feature is referring to the fact that the XLR connection is built into the microphone. This has a mic level output that does require 48v phantom power.

Q: 9. Regarding the statement that the full version of TRAKTOR PRO 3 [is] included," does this mean that the pro version is free to use, or does one need to pay for a subscription?

A: It is free as in "no charge and no subscription": Includes Full Version of TRAKTOR PRO 3 The version you receive with the controller is the full version. No other cost is required besides the cost of the controller.

[ViennaKey] Wow! I’ve had this drum machine for just a few hours and already I can tell I’ve barely scratched the surface of what this machine is capable of. There is so much this machine can do, it’s a shame to call it just a drum machine. It’s really a drum machine and a synthesizer. The synth engine is really, really incredible with multiple areas of sound manipulation. The step sequencer is intuitive and responsive. There’s not one thing I can say that’s negative about this synth! It’s perfect. 5

[ViennaKey] The Korg Volca Drum is a super fun & creative percussion synthesizer. This Volca definitely is unique. It offers six parts each with layers of two individual sounds per part that can be edited separately or together. Programming is very immediate and the controls invite tweaking without having read the manual. However there are a few settings that aren't immediately intuitive which are accessed with the edit/step button and then scrolled through by the select/parameter knob. These potentially overlooked settings really do add to the sound giving bit reduction, wave folding, overdrive, panning, and gain adjustment. The three distortions here add a bit of grit to the sound and in my experience don't degrade the sound too much either, being mostly consistently useable at maximum settings. The motion record opens up the sound design potential quite a bit even if it is a shame that motion recording isn't available for the resonator parameters. I especially enjoy motion recording the rate of the LFO modifier. So many types of synthetic percussion can be made with this synth and, with choke groups, you can treat multiple sounds as a single instrument set. Programming on the Volca Drum is a joy. I plan on holding onto mine probably forever. 5
