Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this work with a Shure SLX1 body pack?

A: Yes, the Shure UL4 UniPlex Cardioid Subminiature Lavalier Microphone is compatible with SLX1 bodypack transmitters.

Q: 2. Polsen cardioid is compatible with Polsen UWM-2?

A: Yes, the Polsen Cardioid Lavalier Microphone with 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sennheiser and Polsen UWM Transmitters is compatible for use with the transmitters that are included with the Polsen UWM-2 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System.

Q: 3. Is this compatible with the Shure SLXD1 body pack?

A: No. This version of the Shure UL4 UniPlex Cardioid Subminiature Lavalier Microphone has a standard 3-pin XLR connector for connection to the mic input on a mixer, amplifier, recorder, camera, etc. The Shure SLXD1 Bodypack Transmitter requires a TA4F 4-pin mini-XLR female connector for connection to a wireless bodypack transmitter. You will want to use the Shure UL4 UniPlex Cardioid Subminiature Lavalier Microphone for Bodypack Transmitter - Black, TA4F (B&H # SHUL4BCMTQGA) for connection to the Shure SLXD1 Transmitter.

Q: 4. Is it compatible with Rode wirelless go II?

A: This mic has a 3,5mm locking connector so it may not connect properly or securely to the input on a Rode Wireless GO II transmitter. It would be better to use a different mic that has a standard non-locking 3.5mm connector, such as the Polsen OLM-10 (B&H # POOLM10) or Polsen PL-4 (B&H # POPL4) to assure compatibility and prevent problems like having the mic accidentally disconnect or create noise from improper connection at the input.

Q: 5. This mic works with a Cmica WS60 kit?

A: No it will not. The Comica Audio CVM-WS60 transmitter only accepts a 1/8" / 3.5 mm TRS Female unbalanced connector. The Polsen Cardioid Lavalier Microphone with TA4F Connector for Shure Transmitters BH #POPL2CTA4 uses a TA4F Connector for Shure Transmitters.

Q: 6. What is the easiest and most lightweight way to use this microphone with a Sony A7S III camera? Which additional products would I need to buy?

A: To connect the Shure MX185 - Cardioid Wired Lavalier Microphone to a camera input such as that found on the Sony a7S III Mirrorless Camera, an adapter such as the Sony XLR-K3M Dual-Channel Digital XLR Audio Adapter (BH #SOXLRK3M) could be used to interface with the camera's Multi Interface Shoe. Alternatively, a camera mixer such as the Beachtek DXA-MICRO-PRO Active XLR Compact Adapter (BH #BEDXAMICROP) could be used to receive and power the MX185 over XLR connection and send signal into the a7S via its 3.5mm input.

Q: 7. Hı , can this microphone be connected to Asio sound interface to record directly to computer?

A: Unfortunately no, because this microphone uses a TA4F connector, it is meant to be specifically hooked up to a Shure wireless body pack that accepts this type of connector. There are ways around this, but I would suggest using a different microphone that has a standard TRS or XLR connector.

Q: 8. Is it compatible with Saramonic UWMIC9?

A: Yes, the Polsen Cardioid Lavalier Microphone with 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sennheiser and Polsen UWM Transmitters is compatible for use with Saramonic UwMic9 bodypack transmitters.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with the Tascam DR-10L, and will the connector lock securely with that model?

A: Yes, the Polsen Cardioid Lavalier Microphone with 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sennheiser and Polsen UWM Transmitters is compatible for use with the Tascam DR-10L Micro Portable Audio Recorder and should lock securely onto its locking 3.5mm microphone input connection.

Q: 10. is this compatible with dji?

A: No, the Polsen Polsen Cardioid Lavalier Microphone with 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sennheiser and Polsen UWM Transmitters is not compatible with the DJI mic.

[Beige] This mic was recommended to me by a saxophone buddy who used this for both live performance and recording. This has served me well in both capacities and I was able to move around during the performance and play comfortably!

[Beige] I bought this (along with the 183 and 184 cartridges, for a full selection of pickup patterns) to do interviews in a very small room (not at all a sound studio). For now I use it with a Roland Quad Capture to get audio into Adobe Audition CC for processing/sync with video. Shure have done a good job with the product design - as a low-experience amateur I thought it was a joy to work with. The audio quality is excellent, and once I fiddled enough with the levels etc. on the other equipment, I got crystal clear audio with a minimum of background noise. Disclaimer: I have not tried other lavalier microphones, so I can't compare, but I am extremely happy with this one. Pros: Audio quality, build quality, options for fastening to subjects. Cons: Not come across any after using for a while.

[Beige] We recieved our microphone not even 3 days after we ordered it. It was shipped very fast. Also, the microphone doesn't pick up background noise, just the voice of the one talking. It's perfect and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great microphone for a great price. I will buy again.
