The spotify midi controllerfrom Reloop is designed for live performance applications such as DJing at a party or in the club on your Mac/PC, Android 5.0 or iOS 7.0 devices. The controller features an integrated 4-channel USB audio interface, two 100mm faders, a crossfader, 16 multi-function drum pads, multi-color changing 15 cm aluminum jog wheels for scratching and cueing, as well as dedicated filters and push encoders for effects and loops when using Algorithms DJAY software.

The DJAY software includes integration with Spotify (with Premium membership), the popular Internet music streaming software. The integration allows for you to mix your Spotify library in real time, as though the files were physically stored on your computer or iOS device. Furthermore, a new Match feature in Spotify provides suggestions of songs that could be mixed with what's currently playing based on dance-ability, BPM, key harmony, style, and how well the tracks will mix.

For performance, the controller allows you to set up to 8 hot cue points per deck as well as automate loops into 8 different lengths. The eight RGB color-changing drum pads can be used to trigger macro effects when placed in Touch FX mode as well as trigger samples. Additionally, the controller offers a Jog FX mode for modulating two effects via the jog wheel. The Slicer and Slice Loop mode divides the track into short segments that allow for spontaneous remixing.

For I/O the controller includes two headphone connections on the front, two master outputs (XLR, RCA) and an auxiliary input for connecting an iPod, CD player, or turntable. BeatPad 2 ships with a USB cable, Lightning cable, Android cable, and a power supply.

A: Yes, but the MixPre must have the required firmware update. The Sound Devices v3.00 firmware update for the MixPre-3, -3M, -6, -6M, -10M, and -10T provides support for third-party USB control surfaces such as the Korg nanoKONTROL Studio and nanoKONTROL2, Akai MIDImix, and Novation Launch Control XL. This update enables connection of these control surfaces to the MixPre to control trim (gain), faders, pan, low cut, reverb, record, stop, and more.

A: No, it is not. Currently it is compatible with Bitwig, Cubase, Garageband, Logic, Nuendo, Digital Performer, Mixcraft, Reason, Reaper, Sonar, and Studio One.

Q: 8. With the 49 key, I want to program the first 10 keys as shortcuts in Musescore, so I'm wondering if there is there a way to acces an octave below or up?

A: There are octave up and octave down buttons that will shift the keyboard one, two or three octaves lower and one, two, three or four octaves higher. Q: 9. Do the batteries charge while unit is connected via usb?

A: No, the nanoKONTROL Studio uses two standard AAA batteries. You can use rechargeable batteries but you will need to remove the batteries to charge them using a separate battery charger. USB cannot be used to charge batteries while they are inside the unit. However, USB can be used to power the nanoKONTROL Studio instead of using batteries.

Q: 10. Hi, can operate with Zoom F8 nanokontrol wonder ?

A: Unfortunately the Zoom F8 is not able to support a MIDI controller. Currently there are no external control options.

[Dual-Deck] I love this panel. The design and layout of the controls is sensibly straightforward and easy to get the hang of, and the jog wheel is a huge benefit. If you're using it with Pro Tools, Logic Pro or any other DAW, for the price point this is a terrific way to get hands on control and speed up your workflow. If you're a video editor don't get your hopes up; at the moment I haven't been able to get it to work with Resolve or Premiere Pro on my Mac running OS Catalina 10.15.5, but PC users may have more luck. I mainly intended to use it for audio work though, so this wasn't a dealbreaker for me. Overall very happy with this. 5

[via Software] The controller is sturdy and fully programmable. It works great with the ipad, however you need a PC/Mac to program it the first time. The step sequencer is a great bonus for the price and it is easy to use. I highly recommend this controller. 5

[12 VDC at 2.5 A] This is a correction of my initial review. The pedal jack is MIDI assignable, which confused me to believe it could be configured as expression via MIDI, but sadly is not. Is a simple TS jack. For expression, you need a TRS jack (tip, ring, sleeve). But is nothing that takes away from this awesome keyboard. Still I believe is one of the best values under 100$. The key action is great, and very soft for fast riffs. I'll need to find a way to fit my second expression pedal in my rig. 5

[via Software] With loads of individual controls this controller has lots of scope, with standard Korg mediocre build quality. Having only owned it for a short time I can't speak to the durability but I've put ti through alot in a month as it's still working well. I was not able to get the Bluetooth functionality working (something to do with 64bit bluetooth, but I have other bluetooth controllers I'm not willing to possibly lose to get this functionality). 5

[12 VDC at 2.5 A] At the price point I believe this is the best midi keyboard. It has a minimal design, without too many knobs or pads. And the keys feel great compared to other keys at this price point. Perfect for the musician who just wants the best keys possible at an attractive price point. To my knowledge there isn't anything that comes close to this at under 200. When this was made, it had all the best features. I would like them to add blue tooth, I think all midi controllers should have this now. ( That being late 2016, but at the time this was designed it was not common. ) Also you have to install the firmware to make it work correctly, which seems unnecessary. And the infrared controller is not super useful, I'd rather have an xy touch pad. While the infrared controller can work, the resolution is not great enough to be as useful as other inputs at this price point. Maybe if they replaced the sensor with a more accurate way to interact with no touch then it could be more interesting. In summary, I wish I was buying this exact version but released in 2016 with blue tooth and a more useful input than than the infrared sensor. But I'm still buying this, because there is nothing better in terms of how the keys play and feel. It has the perfect weight. And you really don't want fully weighted keys unless they are perfect. To me these keys feel perfect. 5

[2x Stereo] The Korg nanoKontrol Studio is one of the USB MIDI keyboards certified for use with a Sound Device MixPre 10ii recorder. It connects to the USB-C port of the MixPre, and is automatically recognized and configured. The faders and start/stop controls are marked and permanently configured, as are the record and mute buttons. The dials control the trim, low cut frequency and pan settings, depending on the selected scene. It's all very straight-forward for real time control, superior in every way to the tiny knobs and endless menus of the MixPre. 5

[2x Stereo] I was looking for a synth action controller to replace my old Korg Wavestation, which is, in my opinion, the best synth action ever. Is not for everyone, though, since is so light, you can fly on lead passages, but is not very comfortable for pianos or organs. But the problem is that, since is a fully fledged synth, is big and heavy. Not really practical to move it around gigs. Anyway, to my amazement, the Nektar action is so light and smooth, not at all plasticky or spongy as many other controllers I've tried, that I can now put my trusty to Wavestation rest. As a plus, is very light and small overall, as much as I can fit both my main controller (M-Audio Code 61) and the Nektar on the same SKB hard case, how convenient is that? Build quality is top notch. Can't talk about long term, since I've only used it for a few weeks, but looks and feels very well built, it doesn't squeak when squeezed, buttons and dials are great and responsive, configuring it is a breeze, and it does have a multi function plug for either a sustain or expression pedal. That is very nice to me, since I'll be adding another expression pedal to control my left hand, while I use the other for the left. In a nutshell, I believe the Nektar GX49 is without doubt the best sub 100$ 49 key controller in the market. 5

[Dual-Deck] Bought this for travelling with my laptop, this is the most compact 61-key keyboard I've ever had, but more importantly NOT a piece of junk. Reasonable keyboard feel, bus-powered, and Reason integration is exactly what I needed, and the GX61 would have been worth it at even twice the price! 5
