Prime telephoto lens is designed for APS-C-format Fujifilm X-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 137mm equivalent focal length.

Bright f/2 maximum aperture benefits working in difficult lighting conditions and also offers greater control over depth of field.

Three extra-low dispersion elements reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to provide greater clarity and color accuracy.

Super EBC coating has been applied to individual elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.

A Quad Linear Motor autofocus system delivers smooth, near-silent performance that is especially beneficial to video applications and when working in noise-sensitive areas.

The lens body incorporates seven distinct weather seals to protect against dust and moisture, and to enable worry-free use in inclement conditions and freezing temperatures as low as 14°F.

Rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out-of-focus quality to benefit the use of selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will the 90mm work with the 1.4 lens extender?

A: No. the teleconverters work ONLY with the 50-140 and 100-400 lenses.

Q: 2. Is this lens still made in Japan after Fujifilm moved their factory?

A: Yes, the following unit is made in Japan.

Q: 3. Product highlights say Weather-Sealed Construction .But isn't Fujifilm WR only Weather-Resistant ?

A: The Fujifilm WR lenses are weather sealed and the lens you found is a WR lens. It is a Fujifilm XF 90mm f/2 LM WR lens.

Q: 4. Any date for aviability?

A: Unless it's out of stock, the lens has been available since May 2015.

Q: 5. Does this 90mm lens have image stabilization?

A: No, it does not. BUt I have no problems hand-holding with my X-T1 at 1/160 sec.

Q: 6. Ever really use a filter for portrait shooting with this lense?

A: No filters used. This lens is exceptionally sharp! If diffusion or softening is necessary, it is much easier and controlled during post processing.

Q: 7. Where is this lens made in ?

A: FUJIFILM XF 90mm f/2 R LM WR Lens is made in Fujifilm Japan's manufacturers.

Q: 8. How come people say the 90mm F/2 is not for use indoors because it doeen't have stabilization, and yet I have no problem using my 16-55mm f/2.8, which is heavier and doesn't have stabilization either, indoors? Why would the fact the 90mm f/2 lens doesn't have stabilization be a problem then?

A: Personally, I think its because they dont know what they are doing! I havent any problems with the lens. Its very versatile, sharp, and gives you the option of getting close or backing off! I like mine!

Q: 9. I own this lens and when it isn't attached to a powered camera, there is a distinct movement from within the lens. I assume this is because the magnets aren't powered which allows the lens elements to move. Over time (travel etc) can this movement lead to damage within the lens?

A: The quad linear motor and will always make a sound and you're right - when it's not engaged (turned OFF) it makes a knocking sound because the magnets that drive the motor are not engaged. When it's turned on the magnets are engaged and will hum a bit. That's typically how triple linear motors work but it does not affect the image quality, video sound or the camera operation.

Q: 10. what's the thread diameter on this? Asking so I can plan to get filters that will fit. thanks!

A: FUJIFILM XF 90mm f/2 R LM WR Lens BH #FU902 will accept 62 mm filters.

[62 mm (Front)] one of the sharpest lens I have ver used or owned and I have owned many excellent lens. It is so fast to focus and can focus on very small objects. I haven't used the lens much yet but so far its a keeper!

[f/16] I have several exceptional Fuji lenses (56mm f1.2, 16mm f1.4, and the 35mm f/2), and this 90mm f/2 is no exception. I needed a little extra reach when shooting sports, so this 137mm equivalent, coupled with the lightning fast XT-3 (30 frames per second) basically guarantees that I capture the images Im looking for. The included polarizing filter really helps neutralize harsh lighting conditions.

[f/2] This is my new favorite lens. I've been using it for portraits of my pets, and it is also fast enough to capture some nice action shots. The unique 90mm focal length really makes me think about my compositions. As other reviews have mentioned, the image quality is out of this world. In combo with my X-T4, I am beyond pleased.

[0.2x] I joke about this lens and call it my clunker because of the sound it makes until you turn it on, people give me strange looks until they know whats going on.
I have done some odd ball testing with this lens for color rendition and clarity and cannot get it to fail so far which is great, did some still life, animals, people you name it and it just performs as long as you do your part. I even did a star shot one night which I would never do with a  lens this size but it still produced a very good image for me. I am going to be using it next weekend for some shots with a s girl so i will get some idea of what it will do these will be indoor shots using controlled lighting.
If you want a nice lens around the 135 mm mark then this is what to buy for your Fuji, I shoot Canon full frame also and use L lenses and  I would put this up against them in quality and performance.

[f/2] The Canon135mmL was one of my favorite lenses, now it is the XF 90mm, my favorite lens of the f/2 series. Great lens for shooting fashion to separate subject and background, great for sports too. It does not have IS so a great match with X-H1 to shoot shutter speeds slower than 1/125.

[Autofocus] It is very sharp, the focus is relative fast in X-T1 (I heard it is faster in newer bodys). It has no vibration reduction, so you must be careful with lower shutter speeds. I am loving it!

[7, Rounded] I have had this lens only a couple of weeks, but am so pleased with it. Tack sharp images, great bokeh and color rendition. Very happy I made the investment!

[Autofocus] I was on the fence whether to buy this lens or not, but after using for the first time at a wedding, I am glad that I did purchase it. It did not disappoint. Very sharp, nice bokeh, and fast focus on my XT-3.

Yes this lens in on the larger and heavier side (part of the reason sold all my Canon and Sigma glass and invested in the Fuji system, but this is a specialty lens for me that I will use for weddings and portraits. I will not be carrying this around with me for casual shooting - thats what the 23, 35 and 50 f2 lenses are for.
