Q: 1. Has anyone used the URSA viewfinder and the Zacuto Gratical X? Which is better?

A: From what we are hearing, the URSA viewfinder is excellent and works perfectly with the URSA cameras. The Gratical X is exactly the same as the Gratical HD only does not have the same software. Therefore the X has the same great image as the HD thus making it a world class viewfinder. The Graticals have the advantage in that they can be used with any camera while the URSA viewfinder really is just for the URSA's.

Q: 2. I suppose a wireless video transmitter cannot be used at the same time with the view finder?

A: If the camera has more than one SDI output, such as the URSA Broadcast, then a wireless video transmitter could be used at the same time as the Blackmagic Design URSA Viewfinder.

Q: 3. Do you need an additional device such as the top handle to attach the viewfinder on the URSA?

A: The Blackmagic Design URSA Viewfinder can attach to the body independently.

Q: 4. Does this viewfinder use a LANC cable/ connection or HDMI / SDI?

A: No, it doesn't use LANC and it comes with an SDI cable to connect to the camera.

Q: 5. Can I expect this to drain the camera batt. quicker?

A: Yes, anything that runs off the SDI or HDMI outputs will shorten your battery life. The good news is its less power than that giant 10 inch screen.

Q: 6. As soon as I got this out from package I could hear some loose screw noise from inside the viewfinder. Does anyone has any idea if that normal?

A: I cant recall that being the case when I received mine. I will double check when I am in the office Monday and update my answer if there IS indeed a noise.

[Gold Mount] Does what it should. It's comfortable and easy to install. I know everyone seems to think metal is great but this viewfinder is heavy. it adds weight to an already too heavy camera. 5

[Gold Mount] This is indeed an excellent viewfinder. I purchased a modification kit that allows me to use this viewfinder on my BMD URSA Mono Pro 4.6K with a top cheese plate & NATO handle from a third party vendor. I've read that approach has been taken to use this viewfinder with RED cameras & others. Of course, my warranty is voided, but I can still update the viewfinder. 5

[0.25 lb] One of the best EVF I've ever tried. Very well built and strong, and images are very clear. Though there is a noticeable amount of flicker though. 5

[0.25 lb] Hands down, this is the EVF you want if you have an URSA or URSA Mini. The mount allow could be reason enough: solid. Inside, the 1080 OLED means you don't see a single pixel and there is now delay between what the camera sees and what you're seeing in the viewfinder. 5

[Gold Mount] I like how robust this viewfinder is and how seamlessly it attaches to an Ursa Mini camera. It's imagery is also excellent and is easy to get frames into focus. 5

[Gold Mount] This is seriously one of the best viewfinders in the camera business. It's easily as good as, if not better than Zacuto's Gratical and even Arri's. I use it on an URSA Mini 4.6k and it absolutely rocks - it's a much have accessory for that camera. However, I wish the design was a bit more versatile for use with other cameras, although Wooden Camera and other 3rd party companies are making adapter kits for it. 5
