The compact and ergonomic binoculars with stabilizationfrom Konus Optical are well-suited for travel but packed with high performance features. The optics offer fully multicoated lenses for high transmission of light and reduced glare, the BAK4 Roof Prisms reduce overall size and offer a more aesthetic appearance, an 8x magnification for optimal close-up, and a wide 7° angle of view. For your viewing comfort, the binoculars also have adjustable interplanetary distance and a diopter ring on the right tube.

The waterproof housing is covered with a green rubber covering that provides protection against damage and a non-slip grip. The open bridge configuration of the hinge allows for easier interplanetary adjustment and provides a tight grip around the tubes. The center focusing knob is oversized and has knurling to ensure a smooth easy focusing. To accommodate wearers with eyeglasses, there are twist-up rubber eyecups. Also included are a case and a strap.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this lens delivered with a hard case too?

A: The Canon HJ40ex14B IASE-V H 2/3" HDxs Broadcast Servo Lens with Image Stabilization does not come with a hard case.

Q: 2. I have a Ronin-M, would this vest and arm work with the Steadimate adapter?

A: I'm afraid not. The Steadimate Adapter is designed to work with Steadicam Arm and Vest systems. If you do not have a vest and arm from Steadicam we suggest purchasing the Steadicam Steadimate 15 Support System, B&H # STSDM15, which is a great option for the Ronin-M.

Q: 3. Will this work with a fairly light rig? I have a Crane 2 and a Pani WFX1 with a small balance weight on the gimbal. I'm sort of upgrade proofing but find even my current rig too heavy for any lenth of time, plus I want rid of the walking wobble ;O)

A: This arm and vest kit works with a set up between 6 to 13 pounds. You will need to weigh out the various components you have to see if they will properly balance. I can tell you that the Crane 2 is the kind of gimbal stabilizer this product is aimed at using and it already weighs close to 3 pounds by itself. So it should be possible.

Q: 4. Are the support sled, rear zoom, and rear focus controls included?

A: This lens comes with the the SS-41-IASD Full-Servo Kit and SUP-300 Lens Support. Servo Kit Included - https://bhpho.to/2zsaBhr Lens Support Included - https://bhpho.to/2Xtqo8a

Q: 5. Does it work with the crane 3?

A: Yes, you will be able to mount the Crane 3 on to this arm and vest kit. Keep in mind that this kit supports and gimbal and camera set up that weighs between 6 to 13 pounds. The Crane 3 weights around 4-5 pounds and has a 10 pound load capacity. You would need to keep the total weight of the Crane 3 and camera between 6-13 pounds for this to work, which is possible.

Q: 6. Can you use this with am iphone?

A: Yes this will work with iphones.

Q: 7. Will the arm mount fit in the grip hole of the Flycam C5?

A: This Vest and Arm kit is designed to work with the Glide Gear DNA line of stabilizers, such as the DNA 5050. However people have modified it for use with other stabilizers that have a hollow spot on the gimbal handle. I am sorry to say that we do not sell Flycam products, so we would not be able to confirm if it will or will not work.

Q: 8. Would these binoculars be be good for boating in open water? Thanks

A: While the stabilization system in the ZEISS 20x60 Classic S Image Stabilization Binoculars would work well on a boat, the 20x magnification is not considered a good magnification for nautical use. The 7x50 binoculars are considered best for boating and because they are only 7x magnification, a stabilizer is not needed. I would recommend this Steiner 7x50: https://bhpho.to/3otqVti

Q: 9. I have a glidecam XR pro, will this fit in the gimbal handle? I'm looking at vests that are affordable and this one is in the middle price range. I think the diameter of my XR pro is 22mm (or somewhere really close to that).

A: I have a glidecam HD 4000 and it actually fit perfectly. So if all the glidecam gear has the same size handle then it should work.

Q: 10. What's the size of the attachment that goes inside the handle of the steady cam? Is it 3/8 -16?

A: Glide Gear DNA Stablizers have a hollow space on the bottom of the gimbal handle. You would simply slide that on to the shaft of the arm on the DNA 6000 Stabilization System.

[Roof (BAK4)] I purchased these not for sailing but rather for astronomy.  These update the Porro prism 7x50s so popular in the last century with astronomers, carrying forward all of their virtues - generous eye relief, 7-degree or larger FOV, flat, well-corrected field edge to edge, bright 7mm exit pupil (matching the fully dilated pupil diameter of a healthy child or young adult observer) and engaging three-dimensional views that only Porros seem to deliver.  To these virtues the Ocean Pros add a few others generally not present in the 7x50s of yesteryear, including decent waterproofing, very light weight for the large prism size and large-ish dimensions (due to the polycarbonate frame), and better multi-coatings.  Are these the best available 7x50 astronomy binoculars?  No.  But they are one of the best values, all things considered.

[26 mm] A magnificent old-world piece of precision and ruggedness. No batteries necessary, making use of good old-fashioned dependable mechanics to provide you with a rock-solid view. Lenses to dream of, a rubber coating to keep all elements out, and mechanical engineering which made the Germans famous. Warmly recommended!

[8x] I do public science outreach (for disadvantaged elementary school students) in the field of astronomy. Binoculars are great for sharing with users who may never have used optics of any kind; they are simple and intuitive. In this program the binoculars are generally mounted on parallelogram mounts which allows the height of the eyepieces to be raised and lowered for different users, without losing the target. Given that these are generally young users whose pupils fully dilate at night, I was looking for an affordable, durable, comfortable, easy-to-use binocular with a 7mm exit pupil for maximum nighttime brightness. The 7x50 Nikon OceanPros have been perfect for this scenario. Though beefy and heavily armored, the carbonate chassis makes them light. The eye relief is generous so they are comfortable. Center-focus is much simpler for multiple users, especially novices. One added benefit that isn't apparent from the specifications is that these have tremendous depth of focus. That is a significant range of the field in front of the user remains acceptably focused. Not so important at infinity as for astronomy (i.e., all targets are effectively the same distance in focus terms from the user) but a real treat terrestrially. It also helps flatten the field I suspect since these seem to lend accommodation even to older eyes. I am very happy with these binoculars and heartily recommend them to anyone looking for a bright, comfortable, durable, well-corrected, large exit pupil terrestrial or astronomical binoculars.

[3.25 mm] Bought these incredible binos during the pandemic. Since I couldn’t travel, I wanted to travel the universe in my backyard with these binos. I was concerned that the binos didn’t have apochromatic glass and I would see some chromatic aberration on the bright objects such as the moon. These binos have achromatic glass and are very well corrected as I didn’t detect any color fringing on bright objects. The image stabilizer is wonderful, silent and doesn’t require batteries, which is helpful during the colder months. So I really like these binos so far and am looking forward to embrace the winter in the northeast. These binos are truly a Game Changer!

[Roof (BAK4)] Works great for cameras under 10lb. I'm using it with HD4000. Definitely do the job. But you need to practice a lot before using.
