Building on the success of the original Ultravid HD, leica geovid hdadd improved technologies and materials to create an optic with bright and clear images across the entire field of view. The full-size HD-Plus delivers enhanced contrast and true color fidelity, with virtually zero distortion, even in low-light conditions.

Leica upgraded the glass to specially formulated SCHOTT HT glass, which increases light transmission especially in the blue-violet light band, improves color fidelity, and enhances low-light performance. Scratch- and abrasion-resistant High Durable Coating (HDC) and hydrophobic AquaDura coating on hte outer lenses protect surfaces and cause water and oil to bead off for easier cleaning and clearer vision. The roof prisms feature P40 phase correction and the proprietary High Lux System (HLS) coatings. These coatings virtually eliminate chromatic aberration for enhanced color rendition and increased contrast.

Complementing the optical performance are uncompromising construction details. To reduce user fatigue during long glassing sessions, the chassis is made of a lightweight yet durable magnesium alloy, with a titanium center hinge axle. The optical tubes are nitrogen filled for fogproof performance and sealed to make the binoculars submersible to 16.4' or 0.5 bar of pressure. Ergonomic thumb indents on the bottom of the binoculars coupled with protective rubber armoring provide a comfortable slip-resistant grip. A lubrication-free focus system provides fast and precise focusing, with PETP-Discs to provide smooth movement throughout the broad operating temperature range.

Q: 4. I'm trying to decide between an 8x32, 8x42 or a 10x42--Can anyone point a reference that would allow me to compare these before I buy?

A: the 10x42 Leica Trinovid binoculars have a Field of View of 339' @ 1000 yd The 8x 42 Leica Trinovid binoculars' have a Field of View of 372' @ 1000 yd You will see the 8X binocular's view is 20% further away Again the 32mm size ocular is 25% darker than the 42mm size

Q: 5. Is the lack of IS in this product a limitation?

A: Most of these binoculars do not have Image Stabilization. There are only a few brands who offer this setting. Since this model has a 50mm Diameter you should be fine holding it steady. Keep in mind though the more magnification it will take away that brightness factor. This model would be used for Hunting, or Stargazing.

Q: 7. What is the warranty on these ??

A: Leica Trinovid series as well as Leica's Ultravid, Noctivid, Monovid and spotting scopes collections all have a lifetime limited warranty when purchased from a Leica authorized reseller like B&H and serviced in North America. They also have a 3 year Leica Passport warranty.

Q: 8. What happened to the Adventure Strap mentioned in the user manual we received with the binoculars (it says it should come attached)? I do see it's not listed in the "In the box" list on the website, and there's a cloth pouch instead. Just thinking this matter neads clarification for future buyers.

A: The eyecups are removable. However, I do not suggest removing them for the purpose of cleaning. They were designed to be removed for replacement if damaged, lost or loss of their cushioning.

[3.9 lb] These binoculars are truly fantastic. I have an old pair of trinovid 8x40 that were completely refurbished by Leica about 2 yrs ago. I thought they were great but these blow them away. What amaze me is these new one are even better in dim light than the old ones. I am used to high end glass, owning several top if the line line Nikon camera lens and spotting scopes. Only draw back is these a a little heavier than expected and the case is completely useless after the strap is installed 5

[6.2 mm] Without reading the instructions, I had no problem using the range finder. Just push the button. I am sure that there are features that I could access, but the basic need is right there at a push of the range finding button. Of course, the binocular image is superb. It is very clear, much more so than my $300 Nikon binoculars. 5

[6.2 mm] I use a lot of different types, brands, and powers of binos and telescopes, so I know clear and bright when I see them. These are my go-to glasses for birding. The combination of size, weight, build quality, price, low light visibility, and function is unmatched, unless you want to pay $3500 for NL Pure. 5

[6.2 mm] Leica, Zeiss, and Swarokski are all excellent binos. I owned a Leica 8x32 Trinovid, it was stolen. To replace it, I tried comparable priced binos from all 3 mfgs, and preferred the Leica for crisp color. So I bought another pair of Trinovids. 5

[50 mm] First Am I a glass expert? No; however my eyes can tell. These binoculars are crystal clear, can see details on your subject that you would with lesser optics, and can glass for hours without your eyes feeling stressed. The range finder is a great feature to have. Is also pretty spot on with known distances. For the price and what you get, this is hard to beat. Used these for deer hunting in temps from 25 degrees F to 45 degrees F, did not have any issues. Light gathering capability is also great. These are still within the affordable range. Sure Leica and its competitors have better series optics but it will cost you at least twice this price and may not include a range finder. Why I went with this pair? Convenience of having a range finder and binocular in one, currently own other Leica optics, affordability and quality. I understand that this series is made in their Portugal facility. I am not concerned with that as Leica from Germany has oversight and their reputation. Would I buy these again and do I recommend? Yes 5

[3.9 lb] These are great Binos. The glass is superb and the rangefinder is second to none. The Pro model connects to garmin tactix ab watch, kestrel and phone. The Bluetooth works are much greater distance than other models. I highly recommend these binoculars for any shooting or hunting. My one gripe is the lens covers. They are terrible and I do not use them. 5

[Roof] I was hunting with a guide and he spotted a nice deer. I was able to find it with my binoculars with his direction. With one button push, I ranged it at 955 yards. He asked me to range a large rock that we could work our way to. I ranged it at 520 yards. Since we knew that over 400 yards was too far, we planned another route that put us 80 yards from the deer. At that range, the guide's rangefinder would work. I have a manual for these binoculars but I haven't opened it yet. I put in the battery and pushed the button to get it to range. It may do more, but that is all I need. Super simple to use. 5

[Roof] Was waiting to afford this set ip for years, Nice combo package, high quality glass and range finder. Used them on a deer hunt last year in temps from 15 deg F to the mid 50’s F, crystal clear images in low light and mid day. LRF is accurate. In a overcast low light condition I could tell the difference between a young doe and a button/nubbin buck at over 250 yds. The detail on the wild turkeys at over 200yds was incredible. Yes, it was money well spent 5

[Center] Excellent glass! bright, clear, clean. If you think your binos are good, take a peek inside the geos. Leicas are excellent. The range-finder is great!!. Im glad I made the purchase, well worth it! 5
