Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you use Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper in the Canon PIXMA Pro 100 Printer?

A: Technically it can be used, but Canon would not have an ICC profile for this paper on the Canon Printer

Q: 2. Hello, I am looking to buy an inkjet paper to print in black and white. The paper texture I am looking for is very similar to the old traditional Ilford paper rigid and the texture like pleached, interwoven, I don't know how to explain but I have a picture I can send to you. If you zoom it you can look at the texture I am talking about. Could you please help me? Regards, Carlos Herdocia

A: Baryta paper is very similar to the Ilford Multigrade darkroom paper in both texture and thickness. Since I am a former darkroom printer, this is my favorite paper because of its resemblance to the Ilford Multigrade paper.

Q: 3. This listing does not tell how many sheets are in the box. 25 I will have to assume but you should really list what the product consists of.

A: This box contains 25 sheets of paper, and this is listed in the specifications section of the product page.

Q: 4. What is the weight of this paper?

A: The, Hahnemuhle Platinum Rag Fine Art Paper is Weight: 300 gsm.

Q: 5. Does this paper contain optical brighteners?

A: I haven't seen anything on the Hahnemuhle website concerning OBA's being used in the Fine Art Baryta papers, and while I have used this paper an awful lot, I have yet to notice any change in character for the paper. I really like the gamut available. If you're concerned about OBA's, I believe the Hahnemuhle Photo Silk Baryta is OBA free.. Also, I believe the Epson Glossy paper is OBA free - if not gluten free.

Q: 6. Can you use this paper in an Epson P600 printer?

A: Yes you can just need to make sure you have it set for fine art paper.

Q: 7. What is the thickness of this paper?

A: The paper is 15 mil thick.

Q: 8. Since it has a matte finish, I'm supposed to use matte black ink. What will happen if I use gloss black?

A: If you print with photo black on the print, the ink will not stick properly and it will be a mess. The black will also not look correct. The printer does not recognize the paper loaded into it so you must select the correct profile.

Q: 9. CAN we print text on the other side?

A: No, it is not listed as double-sided.

Q: 10. I'm printing on an Epson Photo R2400 and always use 13 x 19 Velvet Fine Art paper that I load in the back. Does the 8.5 x 11 load in the back or top?

A: Load it in the back as well. It might go through the auto feeder but you wouldn't want to try it with more than one sheet because of it's weight/thickness. It's simple, always use the single sheet method that you use with the larger sheets. It's my favorite paper, just made some large prints, over 108 using velvet.

[Cotton Rag] First time camera owner and super excited, simple and easy to use instructions. Definitely not meant for long distance photography but 1m is definitely enough to take some fun photos especially for the first time learning how to use it. If I can learn to develop my own film that would be great but I'm glad I got this camera to start. Film is such a nostalgic feeling.

[4.815 lb] I love this paper. The white are bright, the feel is soft, colors pop, but the profile is bad. I use a Canon 8400 printer, the blacks block up with no detail. What is dark grey on my screen (Apple XBR) turns solid sooty black. To get a good print I have to back way off in photoshop and then hope for the best. This wastes a lot of paper. But when it works, the images are fantastic. Please fix the profile!!
