Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If I'm using Phottix Indra, do I still need to get an external receiver?

A: The Indra has a receiver built in.

Q: 2. I am using Fuji GFX cameras. What trigger do I need to use the Indra 500 strobe and get TTL and HSS?

A: The Phottix Odin Lite Flash Trigger Transmitter BH #PH89090 is manual only. Phottix does not currently have a TTL and HSS capable Fuji transmitter.

Q: 3. will this work with ellingchromes as well and will the Ellingchrome work with the Bowens?

A: No, it will not. The Bowens XMTRC Flash Trigger for Canon, B&H # BOBW5195C, is specifically designed for use with the Bowens XMT500 TTL Battery Powered 500Ws Monolight, which has a built-in Bowens XMT radio receiver. The receiver is not available as a separate purchase for use with other flashes, and the Bowens XMTRC Flash Trigger for Canon will not work with other brand/model strobe units (it is not even compatible with older Bowens flash units; the Bowens XMT500 Monolight is the only TTL monolight ever released by Bowens). As the Bowens XMT500 Monolight has a 1/8" (3.5mm) miniphone sync terminal on the bottom of the unit, you could purchase the Elinchrom Skyport receiver to connect to the sync terminal on the bottom of the unit, and you can purchase an Elinchrom Skyport transmitter for use on your camera, and that setup would wirelessly trigger the monolight. However, you will have to set the flash output power manually, as you cannot control the flash output of the Bowens XMT500 from the Elinchrom transmitter on the camera, and there would not be TTL automatic flash output when using the Elinchrom transmitter; you must use the Bowens transmitter if you need TTL flash output or the ability to set the flash output from the transmitter mounted on the camera.

Q: 4. Will the Ares II Flash Trigger Transmitter work with a Phottix Atlas II receiver? 1 of my 2 units went south on me.

A: I contacted Phottix concerning your inquiry. According to Phottix, no, the Phottix Atlas II receiver is not compatible for use with the Phottix Ares II transmitter. The Phottix Atlas II and Phottix Ares II have different frequencies and are not compatible with one another. The Phottix Ares II would be compatible with the Odin II, Strato II, and Odin Lite line of remote triggers and they recommend upgrading to the newer Ares II flash triggers.

Q: 5. Is this (Ares II) compatible with the older Ares (not Ares II) receivers?

A: The Ares II and Ares are not compatible with each other.

Q: 6. I want to use this with my Phase One 645. What is the fastest sync speed, and will it fire my Nikon Odin II receivers? I wish there was an adaptor that could allow me to simply use my Phottix Nikon Odin II transmitter.

A: The trigger does not support High Speed Sync. The sync speed you can get from the Phase One 645 is 1/125. The trigger does work with the Nikon Odin II receivers but in manual only.

Q: 7. Will this connect with yongnuo yn-560 vl?

A: It does not use the same frequencies. You would need a receiver to use it with a YN560.

Q: 8. Does this work with a7rii?

A: Yes this is compatible with Sony cameras that have the Multi-Interface Shoe like the A7 R II.

Q: 9. Some older flash packs use 60V voltage for triggering. Will this 60V voltage damage the Alzo receiver if the connection is made using the PC connector?

A: We do not have this unit on hand to test however 60v is a lot for any electronic unit. I would say it would be better to use a sfe sync such as the Vello HSA-PVU Hot Shoe Adapter with Safe Voltage Conversion BH #VEHSAPVU

Q: 10. Why doe the photos show items not included, such as the "snoot", and why a bag 'without wheels' instead of "wheeled bag" listed?

A: Photos most of the time come direct from the manufacture and kits change all the time. The list on the lower right of the product page is what the kits come with.

[Olympus] I travel to studios of all different levels all around the world and this is the perfect solution to make sure I can work with whatever lighting setup they have. I recently used it to shoot several thousand images over two days and had zero problems.

[0.72 lb] This 400w strobe was such a great value packaged in such a great form factor that I switched from another system. I really like that the Bowens mount is built in, the powerful modeling light, the ease of use, etc. Really glad I made the switch.

[Olympus] I’ve now used this trigger 10-15 times since purchasing it and I have to say I don’t think there is really anything about it I don’t like. The range is excellent compared to trying to trigger an fj80 with another fj80 this trigger reaches 3-4x as far and with much more reliability around corners behind walls whatever you do. Price is excellent for the quality and the fact that u fully charged it once and it still has 3 out of 4 bars left of the charge is impressive. I’d buy again or recommend it to someone without hesitation.

[0.72 lb] The FJ-X3 M is far superior to the FJ-X2 M. Well made. Easy to navigate and works with my FJ 200's without any problems. So far So good.

[0.72 lb] Nice tight connection. I was afraid needing this to use the FJ-X2m flash trigger would be awkward sitting on top of the camera, but the trigger is small so you don't even notice the adapter.
