[0.45 lb] I used this product every way I can think of. Straight out of the box, it worked, and worked perfectly. The learning curve was a fraction of the Hahnel Gigi Pro II I have, but still use. After a shoot with two cameras, and desperately needing another trigger, I went searching for the perfect product for my 'style'. I have tried other brands, but am continually impressed with the build, quality, and results I get with Hahnel products. I would buy this again, and recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile, easy to use remote trigger. Note, to use this wireless, you need to purchase the Captur transmitter / transmitters for however many flashes you wish to use

[0.45 lb] Used the Module Pro this last weekend for taking photos of bats in flight at night at a remote location. I was worried that with the IR beam being fairly narrow, I wouldn't get a lot of shots, but I got around 270 shots each night over just a couple of hours, so plenty to work with. I bought the Module Pro, one receiver and the cable to fit my camera. I used a different brand of transmitter/receiver set that I already had to sync two flashes. I will be buying the Captur transmitter/receiver set and an extra receiver to complete the set-up in the near future.

[2.4 GHz] Slightly large but quality build. Works great. Used with 10pin connector attached to wireless module to trigger camera and two off camera flashes triggered via D800 pop-up flash. Can also trigger RF with Pocket Wizards.

The things that are great about this device are. 1) it can capture images by sound, light, infrared, laser and using the Aux port things like pressure plates. 2) I also really like that it is powered by AA batteries , that can be found almost anywhere. I agree with others that the instructions are not the best, however it is very easy to figure it out on your own. I also like that it uses a standard 1/4 by 20 connection on the bottom, allowing the use of a quick release plate for attaching to tripod heads, light stands and supper clamps. Attaching a cold shoe makes it convent to place it in camera hot shoe when using the light and sound capture modes. When used with the Hahnel captur receiver it will release camera shutter by radio signal, have only tested it over about 150 feet so far in the IR mode. Worked perfect. It also worked perfect using a laser beam, that can be used over much great distances, however quite difficult to line it up. Is there such a thing a laser that the can be focused to a wide beam?



All in all I would recommend the device.

[328' (100 m)] on the positive side: Product is excellent, it the best, change cables and it works with other camera makes. on the negative side: The instructions are poorly written although the product is easy to use. It is somewhat difficult to find the the cables which are not included with the product.

[328' (100 m)] I am a bat researcher, and I do most of my work in Costa Rica. Because my research, I need to capture often different species of bats and always want to take photos of them flying. For this reason I both the Capture Pro, to take photos of the bats when they arrive to feed on flowers, fruits or just while they flying. I used with a $$laser and worked perfectly! Also, I found this great video on youtube that explains how to used all the different functions! h@

[0.45 lb] Two adjustments make the Hahnel Captur Pro great. You can adjust sensitivity and delay. Sensitivity can be adjusted to set how loud a sound must be to trigger the unit or how intense the light must be to trigger it. Couple this with the millisecond delay necessary to get the moving object in the right place for your photograph and the unit becomes very functional. In addition to the Sound and Light triggers the Laser beam and IR sensors seem to work well in my test applications. You must provide the laser however -- any laser seems to work. I have not yet tried the long exposure or interval features except to assure that the settings work. They appear to work as designed. The unit is ruggedly built with a removable rubber cover and comes with a separate IR generator. It's interesting to fire the camera with the flash instead of firing the flash with the camera. I'm using a Nikon D810 which works great with the Hahnel unit Setting up speeding objects works better if you stop them in darkness with a short duration flash which fires the camera and is better than trying to stop the object in full light with a fast shutter. It's a professional unit that I would certainly recommend.

[328' (100 m)] I got one yesterday and used with the captur system. I tested IR and Sound and amazingly works as promised. Tested to take a shot of a water balloon bursting using IR sensor. The sensor worked perfectly at about 8-9 ft. distance. The unit appears well built and liked that it comes with a rubber cover for both parts. It also includes batteries. Hopefully it will last!
