The 8 channel hdmi modulatorfrom 8 channel hdmi modulatorconverts 2 Component or VGA sources into cable channels and broadcasts them over existing coax cabling to an unlimited number of tuner-equipped displays. The video is encoded into MPEG-2 and audio into AC-3. VGA input supports a wide range of resolutions from 640 x 480 to 1440 x 900. It comes with an included crossover cable which can only be used with DirecTV H25 receivers.

Q: 8. I have a couple channels that should be HD but I am picking them up in SD. I am transmitting in HD but only SD will go out because that is what I am getting. The two I know of are ESPN and Fox Sports SW. Why am I receiving SD signal when it should be HD?

A: The product features 480i or 576i video resolutions, it does not go up to HD resolutions I'm afraid. ZeeVee does have other products that do go up to 1080 with their output, such as the ZvPro 820 Dual Channel HDMI Encoder.

Q: 9. Are the HDMI and DB9 Ports labeled in any way? If so, what do the labels say?

A: The HDMI and DB-9 ports are not labeled. The HDMI port is the smaller of the two.

[<1% typical] This is a popular card for having a good line TBC for interlaced video. This is what you want for capturing old home movies, whereas more expensive cards from BlackMagic that offer analog video/s-video have issues. So it is actually a really good deal for what it offers. I might have to order a second card as a back-up. 5

[62000 hours] We use this card in 40+ windows 10 pro boxes. They are very stable. For backups, they run 12 hours X 5 days per week. The software [Panopto and OBS Studio] seems to run Great. The only complaint is somewhere in the mix, they sometimes lose Audio for no apparent reason. Rebooting usually fixes it. 5

[9.7 lb] I'm a big fan of these capture cards. I've tried Black Magic's cheaper version of these cards and they were riddled with bugs. Their thunderbolt mini recorders were just as bad and unreliable. These cards run for sever hours a day, 5 days a week in our studio and have held up strong for the past two years. In regards to the loud fan issue using Mac products, I'm happy to say Magewell remedied this issue with the release of their 12/2019 drivers from their site. The card doesn't run at 100% fan speed anymore and is much quieter than ever. The old saying applies to this product you get what you pay for. These cards are worth the price. 5

[>38 dB typical] I've been selling and installing both the RF only and RF+IP models of the ZVPRO since 2015. We had one power supply fail in that time frame. That unit was in a less than ideal location being bombarded with construction dust. The customer also had daisy chained power strips which I'm sure didn't help. That's it. We've had no other issues. All these units are still in service. 5

[16] I recently bought a 2 channel Magewell Capture card to use with WireCast streaming program that I am using. It worked so well that I sent it back and bought the 4 channel card. It also worked very, very good. It lets me adjust the size of the individual inputs to fit the screen. So I would recommend it to anyone needing to get video into their computer. 5

[62000 hours] Amazing upgrade from USB capture cards to this. The video is clearer, the latency went down to about 100 milliseconds, and its perfectly stable. No complaints whatsoever! 5

[9.7 lb] I purchase it as a 2 channel HDMI QAM modulator, Video quality is amazing, now i realized that I can also use it for IPTV streaming over our network, we streem 2 programs from Direct Tv Set top box to any of our 240 computers in our building , I search the net , i would need to pay more just for the IP streamers - good value 5
