This 86mm digital camera with manual exposure capabilitiesis an ND filter with a 16x filter factor that provides a 4-stop exposure reduction. Its 1.2 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed without overexposing your image. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters are intended to not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

The design of this filter has been optimized for use with digital sensors and to promote nearly flat attenuation of visible and infrared light. Due to imaging sensors' greater susceptibility to infrared light, compared to traditional film, color casts can occur when photographing darker subjects that require increased exposure times. To provide a high level of neutrality across the visible and infrared spectrums in order to eliminate color casts and ensure cleaner, truer blacks, each glass surface includes one layer of ACCU-ND Vapor Deposition coating.

This Tokina 86mm PRO IRND 1.2 Filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity as well as color fidelity and features an aluminum-alloy filter ring.

Q: 1. I have an old Gossen Digital Luna Pro. Great meter over-all. The only problem-The white incident/reflective sliding dome over time does not stay locked in place. I know other people who have experienced the same problem...Does anyone knowif this problem has been resolved on the new Gossen Sixtomat F2 Light Meter? Pete 8/9/2015

A: I've just bought the Gossen Sixtomat F2 and have had it just over a month. As far as I can see there is no problem with regards to not staying locked although who knows what might eventuate over time. The reason I bought the Gossen is because of its reputation and it is a very good piece of equipment to help the photographer.

Q: 2. would this timer work with a besseler 23c III enlarger?

A: The Kaiser Electronic Exposure Timer is compatible with the Beseler 23CIII enlarger.

Q: 3. "Can it toggle back and forth between a shutter speed/aperture reading (let’s say, f/8 @ 1/60) and then to its EV equivalent (say, EV 12) (and then back to f/8 @ 1/60) or does changing the mode erase the existing reading?"

A: Yes you can

Q: 4. Do the filters have kneeling for ease of attachment?

A: The filters in the NiSi 82mm Circular Long Exposure Filter Kit BH #NIRCLEKIT82 do have knurling on the sides of the filter to help with attachment and removal of the filters yes.

Q: 5. rather than pay extra for the 15stop filter couldn't I combine the 10stop with the 6-stop polarizer in the cheaper Circular kit?

A: Combining multiple ND filters will result in vignetting at wide angle focal lengths whereas a single filter with 15 stop filter will ensure you don't get vignette.

Q: 6. How does the Sixtomat F2 perform in low light environments?

A: It will read any ambient lighting condition and give you a time exposure reading

Q: 7. Can you tell me the difference between the Sixtomat F2 and the Digipro F2?

A: The, Sixtomat F2 is 118 mm x 65 mm x 19 mm / 4.65 x 2.56 x 0.75 inch and the Gossen DigiPro F2 Flash and Ambient Light Meter v2 is 150 mm x 65 mm x 19 mm 5.91 x 2.56 x 0.75 inch. The Sixtomat F2 is 95 g / 0.21 lbs without battery and the Digipro is 100 g / 0.22 lbs without battery. Other wise the are about the same.

Q: 8. is there a provision for wireless connection to flashes ?

A: This meter can read strobe lights without connecting them directly with a PC cord with its noncord function but the meter can not wirelessly trigger flashes. If you need the meter to trigger the lights you will need to connect a sync cable to the side of the meter via the PC connection.

[0.485 lb] The Gossen Sixtomat F2 is an ideal meter for all around use. I primarily use it in incident mode, and it’s always with me, either in camera bag or pocket. And its thin, flat shape makes it easy to drop into a shirt pocket, or back or even side pocket of jeans. I haven’t tried it’s flash measurement function, but if Gossen says it works, I’m prepared to believe it works. Yes, you can get fancier meters with touch screens and more functions, but if one photographer in 1,000 really needs any of that, it’s a lot.

[0.485 lb] Very accurate, including in conjunction with flash and high-speed sync. Super simple to use. Love the small size, easily slips into your shirt pocket. Some may be weirded out by no On/Off switch. But it simply powers down after a couple minutes of non-use. Tap any button and its back where you left off. I like that a power switch is one less thing I have to worry about.  Comes with lanyard and nice little padded case. Great little meter.

[0.485 lb] This filter is a wonderful way to extend your shutter time as to smooth out motion on long time exposures or Time-Lapse video. The magic of gaining 10 stops of more of time is remarkable. I use it mainly for Time-Lapse video on my Osmo Action camera and it has proven itself to be a great way to smooth out cloud as well as water fall motion. Well worth it. The GIF example attached is from a 4k Time-Lapse set to a 5 second interval with a 2.5 second shutter exposure tme at ISO 100.

[0.485 lb] Very user friendly and works like a charm. If you need your Speedlite or Strobe adjusted to the correct exposure, and dont want to pay an arm or a leg, you need the SIXTOMAT F2 EXPOSURE METER.

[86 mm] I have 7 or 8 light meters, one of which is the Gossen Sixtomat F2 Exposure Meter (as well as an earlier version). They are the least fiddly of the light meters, are easy to read and change settings, and if the battery goes dead I don't have to look for a 2025 or a 2032. Fits in my shirt pocket where I can yank it out for a quick reading.

[0.485 lb] I bought this meter to replace my original F2 Digipro which quit after I don't know how many years.... a lot! I use it for film where it excels in high contrast images with negative film. I scan the scene in reflected mode (basically just wave the meter around pointed at the scene) and set the exposure to one and a half stops over the minimum value shown on the contrast scale at the bottom of the display. Shadow detail is as perfect as it can be....every time. For slides, I use one and a half below the top reading...and pray....or I use my bulky spotmeter (ugh).
I actually prefer this to the digipro because you don't have to remove the the dome for reflected readings. I lost the darn thing and it showed up a couple of years later in a suit jacket pocket!

[86 mm] Yes, I have three!  They are relatively inexpensive, rugged, and extremely accurate.  Fast and easy to use.  I would be lost without it, even though Im getting good at guessing exposure.

Buy some, and throw then in your bags!

[Aluminum] I just ordered my fourth (4) meter yesterday. I now have one for each kit. Two Hassleblads; two Leicas; two Leicas; Olympus SLR (analog). I'm now getting good at guessing the correct exposure but I still have the need to double check the reflective exposure at least once before the shutter is touched. B and H is the place for most everything I get.
