This Foba Base Plate for Tripod Heads - Durable & Reliablefrom Foba Base Plate for Tripod Heads - Durable & Reliableis a solid metal hexagon equipped with a 3/8"-16 threaded protruding screw. While officially designated for use with the Foba Superball series of ballheads, it certainly makes for an effective base with almost any ball head, geared head or pan/tilt head whenever broad, low support is needed.

The 9" diameter hexagon plate is incredibly stable, and the base plate makes a valuable studio accessory. With a weight of 3 lb, it can also be a versatile tool in the field or when traveling.

A: The Roque color correction gels for round flash #RORRFGELCC can be used with the combination of the diffuser plate (BH #GOAKR13) & Godox V1. We recommended buying the Rosco Color Correction Filter Kit ROCCFK2024 and cutting these to size.

Q: 5. What size rolls? What's the Maximum Length of the roll?

A: Unfortunately, this background stand does not include the backgrounds. However, it will work with seamless paper rolls as wide as 12 feet.

Q: 6. Once installed, how much additional height does this add to a tripod w/video head? I want to insure my tripod will fit inside its carry case.

A: IFootage Seastars Q1-BASE adds 1 inch to your height.

Q: 7. Is there any reason for having one of these if using the dome on the V1 flash?

A: No, if one using the Dome you would not use the Godox Diffuser Plate for Round Head Flash Heads. Usually it is one or the other. If you do not the light to be as diffused as the dome does one would use the Diffuser Plate.

Q: 8. How do you fix/clamp the top plate to the camera? Fixing the bottom plate onto the tripod is simple.

A: The entire top plate is used by your hand to screw into the bottom of your camera or its base plate. While you can tools to tighten the plate, it is very unlikely that you will need to do so.

Q: 9. is compatible with arca type?

A: No unless you use a third party arca swiss adapter/receiver on top.

Q: 10. Is there an additional bolt or hex that wedges the plate to the bottom of whatever piece of equipment you mount it to? Similar to the small anti twist allen bolts on manfrotto tripod head bowl+tiedown attachments?

A: The Seastars Q1 does have friction screws to prevent movement on the units that it would be attached to.

[2.505 lb] I use two of these to hold up a DIY window to prevent lens flare when back lighting. The window is heavy, made of 1/4 MDF wood and covered with duvetyne fabric. It weights almost two pounds. Two clamps on a vertical light stand pole hold it securely. They also work great on horizontal rods of different diameters too. With one curved side and one flat, they work great for clamping reflectors or other flat materials to curved surfaces. Swiss made - should last forever. I can't find anything else to match them. Highly recommended. 5

[Black] At first, I didn't think it was working since my initial flash test against a wall showed almost zero light spread, but after bumping up the flash power to obtain the same exposure at the center of the pattern (duh!) its effectiveness really showed. The usable light pattern is about 50 percent wider than my Godox V1 or AD100 zoomed to 28mm. That makes this essential for flash with wider angle lenses, and it also works great to better fill an umbrella. Only downside is that it eats over 1 stop of light as measured in the center of the pattern--good news is that a significant portion of that gets spread wider. 5
