The shift lens canonfrom shift lens canonallows a Minolta MD-mount lens to be used with a Micro Four Thirds-mount camera. Shift and rotational capability is then provided to help ensure correct convergence of lines within your frame, making this adapter useful for architecture, product, and macro photography. This adapter also complements panoramic stitching with or without a panoramic tripod head, allowing for more precise capture of individual composite images so that can be more easily and accurately stitched.

The shift function provided by the Pro Lens Mount Shift Adapter for Minolta MD-Mount Lens to Select Micro Four Thirds-Mount Cameras enables movement of a lens's optical axis by +/- 10mm from its center. Clockwise or counterclockwise 360° rotation is also enabled so that the shift function can be performed at any rotational angle parallel to the camera it is installed on. Shift and rotational movements can be carried out simultaneously or independently of each other, and in either case with a smooth, click-less action.

This adapter does not support electronic communication between an attached camera and lens. Minolta MD-mount lenses that have their aperture settings widened or narrowed using their aperture control rings can then have those settings used with this adapter and a Micro Four Thirds-mount camera set to manual mode. While this adapter also allows the use of a Minolta MD-mount lens with most Micro Four Thirds-mount bodies, this adapter cannot fit Olympus OM-D series Micro Four Thirds cameras due to the shape of their viewfinders.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Any results with the Canon R5. I've heard that this lens while optimal on Canon mirrored cameras is soft on Canon RF mount cameras?

A: We have had no reports about any issues using this lens with a lens adapter on Canon RF cameras.

Q: 2. is the 17mm canon lens compatible with a Nikon d600 full frame body? thanks

A: The Canon TS-E 17mm f/4L Tilt-Shift Lens is not compatible with Nikon cameras, so you would not be able to use it on the D600.

Q: 3. What is the best lens for product photography?

A: This is a superb lens for product photography. I am a professional product photographer. I have used many lenses, and still do for certain things, but this my go-to lens for nearly everything. It is extremely sharp, and the tilt-shift feature is essential for placing the plane of focus right where you need it. With an extension tube it becomes a great TS macro lens, too. I give it five stars!

Q: 4. Will this work on Canon R-mount cameras with the EF adapter?

A: Absolutely! The TS-E 17mm f/4L will work wonderfully with the EF-RF adapter.

Q: 5. Hi!! Do you know tell me if the 17mm TS from one side of the shift all the way to the other is equivalent image circle to a 10mm lens (full frame)? I mean, if i shift up, take a picture, than shift dow and take another, then put them together i can gat the same angle of reach of a 10mm wide angle lenses? How many mm wide the hole possible Tilt circle is equivalent? Thanks a lot!! Cheers!!

A: Yes you can shift - take a center shot horizontal - a full left shift and a full right shift and merge all three images in photoshop. The view would be about equal to a 10mm lens in the left and right view. Matching exposure and color can be a bit tricky depending on the image. Also the extreme outside of the final image will be a bit soft - you are reaching the extreme edge of the circle.

Q: 6. I was wondering if anyone has any experience using this this lens with the Canon Extension Tube EF 12 II. Does it affect tilt/shift function? Basically, I am looking for some macro functionality with tilt/shift. Thanks.

A: You can use the 45mm Tilt and Shift lens with the extension tubes but you will lose some tilt and shift functionality.

Q: 7. Do these (17mm TS) come with an instruction manual or just a generic instruction sheet that covers all canon lenses( that's what mine came with)?

A: The best information I have found has been on YouTube. Do a search for tilt shift lens and go from there.

Q: 8. i want to mount this on a pentax kmount. with the fotodiox canon to pentax adapter work with this lens?

A: It seems like the Fotodiox adapter for k mount goes the other way. It allows you to mount Pentax lenses on a Canon body. From some quick googling, I get the impression that it's not possible to mount an EOS lens on a K mount body.

Q: 9. Is this lens compatible with either the Canon Rebel XSi and/or Canon EOS 5D Mark III cameras? Thanks!

A: Yes, this lens is fully compatible with the Canon XSi and 5D Mk III cameras, and any other Canon EOS Digital or Film SLR cameras.

Q: 10. Can this be adapted for use on a Fujifilm T4?

A: The Fringer EF-FX Pro II Lens Mount Adapter for EF- or EF-S-Mount Lens to Fujifilm X-Mount Camera, BH # FRFX2 can be used to attach the Canon TS-E 90mm f/2.8 Tilt-Shift Lens to the Fujifilm X-T4.

[0.4 lb] Incredible sharpness and clarity that puts my Canon 17-40 to shame. I only wish I had purchased this lens sooner.

[0.4 lb] I find this to be the most fun and challenging lens in my bag. I want my trees and buildings straight not leaning all over the place. It takes some patience but an amazing lens.

[3.4 x 3 x 1.3"] This lens defines the word sharp.

[0.4 lb] Exceptional wide angle tilt/shift lens is great fun in cities or other tight spaces. Image quality is exceptional unshifted, but stop down to f/11 for a full shift. Image quality ranges from outstanding wide open over most of the unshifted frame to just good at the edges of the shifted frame at f/11. Fully shifted, image quality not acceptable until f/8. Flare control is outstanding, and mechanics are excellent, and build is superior to Nikon tilt/shift lenses. This lens is unique for its outrageously wide angle view, nearly a fisheye when fully shifted. In that context, it is unequalled by any other T/S lens. Look to the 24/3.5L II for another excellent choice. Be careful with the front element!

[3.4 x 3 x 1.3"] Great lens. Clean, sharp and very wide. I thought I would miss not having auto focus but I haven't. All of the tilt / shift knobs have lots of range and are easy to control and lock. No issues.

[0.4 lb] These two photos was taken in one frame shot - not in five frames then stitch later. It was taken around 5:30PM in Long Island NY. I am challenging myself into taking my photographs AS IS, without heavy editing in the end of the shot (only touched contrast, exposure and thats it). This lens performs well for me, and in the long run this lens will save me a lot of time editing for i can correct distortions in the field immediately. I heard there are people using this lens for portraitures and landscape and they produced amazing work. The price will compensate the use in the long run and the lens was built to last. I advise people to have external monitor for composing for the built-in camera monitor is getting smaller every year. The lens is a prime lens, a mechanical equipment manual all the time, i consider this a machine built with metal and glass - not automatic/electronic lens. This lens moves in three different directions, tilt, shift, and rotate --X, Y and Z axis, in aviation roll, pitch and yaw. The thing negative is it doesnt come with hood for protection in the field you have to be very extra-careful for the glass protrudes out of the barrel. When i go out for shoot the positive effect is the lens is so obviously protrudes and the people respect you immediately for they think you are a living legend in photography, LoL. You can actually hear people from the background say "shht move back the guy is serious look at the lens. Is that a lens?" the bleeding wallet will heal right away. The lens cap was poorly designed for an expensive lens. The lens is remarkably beautiful, engineered and well-built to last.

[0.4 lb] I use this lens for my architectural business. Great for confined spaces. Sharp and consistant color across the image. It would also be an outstanding lens for landscape photography. One of the nicest lens I own.

[0.4 lb] My biggest concern with this lens was sharpness. I've been using the original 24mm TS and sharpness falls off considerably on about 10% of the image near the left & right sides of the frame. The 17mm was very sharp throughout! One thing to be careful about however, is the infinity stop. The focus of infinity is well before the hard stop. If you go past it your image will not be sharp. I recommend you use the camera's focus indicator's in the viewfinder, with the audible signal on to confirm your focus point. My other concern was possible lens flare, based on the reviews of other users. I didn't find this to be a problem, unless you're practically shooting into the sun. You won't need any fancy box shades with this lens. Under the few circumstances where a light source was striking the lens a handheld mat board worked fine. Finally, regarding chromatic aberrations, they are minimal with this lens.

[0.4 lb] This is my favorite lens for interior photography, whether I'm shooting expansive or closet-size spaces. The price is steep, but it's an investment with high yields. Using this lens cuts down on constantly having to adjust the height of the tripod. With my tripod fully extended to 72 inches I can include soaring ceilings as well as the floor. In kitchens, I can have the tripod high enough so you can't see under the unfinished underside of cabinets, yet still show lower cabinets, ovens, flooring. After using it for two years, I had it serviced, and while it was gone I realized how much I missed it. I used my 16-35, a frustrating experience that worked, but to get verticals vertical, I had way too much ceiling, so I ended up shooting almost everything at 16mm and cropping the ceiling and sides down in post to retain aspect ratio, adding unnecessary time to my workflow. I am so happy I spent the money, the results are fabulous, not only in workflow, but in beautiful photos.

[3.4 x 3 x 1.3"] Great lens that requires some training. The exposure changes as you adjust the tilt/shift which takes some getting used to. The lens protrudes past the end of the housing making it very prone to damage. You can not install any filters but the results are GREAT!
