The sony e mount pancake lensfrom sony e mount pancake lensallows a M42 Type 2-mount lens to be used with any Sony E-mount camera. It is designed to support infinity focusing and is constructed with brass to provide a durable, yet lightweight camera-to-lens connection.

This adapter does not support electronic communication between an attached camera and lens. After being placed on the front of the adapter, focus and aperture controls on the lens would continue to be used.

A: You can still use the Chimera Triolet Flood Light with Octaplus Speed Ring (120 VAC), B&H # CHT2POP in 4 rod points only with this Lantern.

A: Though the camera is able to tell the focal length of the attached lens, it does not appear to be range finder coupled.

A: No, that light is not designed to be used with a softbox.

A: You could use this lantern with a Lowel Omni and the Chimera Speed Ring for Lowel Omni Light (Aluminum) B&H # CHSRLOL. However, the lantern works at its full potential when using a bare tube lighting fixture such as the Chimera Triolet Flood Light with Quick Release Speed Ring (120VAC) B&H # CHT2P. Q: 10. Can you use an Arri 650 with this unit?

A: I think it would work but the fresnel beam would only cover 50% of the pancake. A bare bulb works better. I have a bi-color LED strip wrapped around a tube.

[Sony E] I bought this Softbox to light a group sitting at a dinner table and it works great! With subtle adjustments of the people and position of the lantern, a variety of moods can be achieved. Chimera Softboxes are very easy to use, durable, compact and always deliver a great result. Only downside if I had to pick one is that they take up a lot of space. 5

[0.165 lb] This one of those products you wish you bought years ago. I hang this on a boom. This is a very nice soft light. The skirt is great for adjusting falloff. 5

[Sony E] Overall I really love this, but two things... firstly I saw in another review that they were glad they went with the larger lantern because is barely reaches 4'. I think the 4' is diagonal, not long edge, so it is not really 4' and secondly, you get the impression that it fits any speed ring, and B & H lists several. But it did not fit any that I already had, and one was a speed ring recommended by B & H. You absolutely need to use the Chimera speed ring from Chimera with the spring loaded tabs. Most of the generic ones the holes are too small for the rods. 5

[Brass, Aluminum] This is a great overhead base light. Great for indoor scenes with multiple talent. The skirt can be used in multiple ways. 5
