I have been told that this sensor would have newer software that would make my older monitor work with a 64-bit operating software (OS Catalina 10.15.3). Can anyone tell me if that is correct?? Thanks JH

[Rigid Plastic] Great lead supply for my mechanical pencil. These are very thick and so far, not a single has broken even when I extend a bit. Very happy with these lead refills.

[8.2 x 6 x 0.7"] I am using this to calibrate my NEC monitor using the NEC Spectraview software. PROS: It does exactly what it's supposed to do and does it very well. Note that the Spectraview software is sold separately. CONS: The X-Rite i1 Display Pro is exactly the same sensor but unlike the X-Rite, this one has been modified so that it can't be used to calibrate non-NEC monitors. If I ever have to move to a non-NEC monitor I will probably regret not getting the X-Rite. This is the only reason I would not recommend it to anyone.

[0.3 lb] I bought this calibration sensor to work with the latest version of NECs SpectraView II software. My old sensor was no longer supported by the new 64bit app. It is basically a rebranded X-Rite i1Display Pro. This sensor will not work with X-Rites software, nor can SpectraView II be used to calibrate non-NEC displays. For me this is no problem since I only use wide-gamut NEC displays for my photography work.

The calibration with this sensor is spot on. For home use I print from Photoshop CC using a Canon Pro-100 and Canon Pro Platinum photo paper. Using this sensor and the Print Standard setting in SpectraView II (80.0 cd/m2) the color of my prints is excellent. I get the color that is on my screen. Of course, one never gets the same brightness and contrast as you get on the screen, but the color rendition is as good as I could hope for. I am very pleased.

FYI... I do calibrate my MacBook Pro using the open source DisplayCAL. This software does support this sensor via ArgyllCMS and I imagine can be used to calibrate most any display with excellent results.

[0.3 lb] This colorimeter is made by X-Rite, and it is matched to the NEC wide-gamut displays. Although the NEC SpectraVIEW II software is very good, I still prefer to use BasICColor Display 5 software (with this colorimeter) for hardware calibration and monitor profiling, as it has a complete CIECAM02 color appearance model implementation that is outstanding for photography. You can Google The CIECAM02 color appearance model if you need an introduction. Simple to use, excellent color management.
