I can only compare this to my Soundlink Mini and although the Mini does very well for its size the Max can go much louder and has much clearer highs. I like quality sound and good bass at low volume and that's what Bose gives me.

This is a wonderful blue SoundLink Max speaker, a bigger brother of mini special edition, comes with a 5v 3amp charger with a USB C cable. The high quality build material of the speaker makes comfortable to hold. I especially like the soft feel of buttons. The Bluetooth connection is a breeze to connect. It is a convenient size to move around between rooms. It reports battery remaining percentage when the speaker is turned on.
I also compare with B&O A2, a speaker at the same price point. It has deeper bass and warmer sound than A2. The addition of Bose app with Equalizer adjustment enhances sound enjoyment further. It sounds rich even during low volume.

[Rigid Plastic] I use this speaker in my house, my backyard and when I’m at the beach. I love that it can take a splash and sand being blown at it. The bass was the first thing I realized! It has some great base and the Bose app eq settings allow you to increase or decrease that. The speaker can get very loud so it’s been great for home gatherings or windy beach days. The loud music still sounds pure and no distortion. I also love that you can connect multiple devices to the speaker and the ability to charge my phone from the speaker has come in clutch also. Would like some more colors or even some skins to put over it. Also an advanced option for the app’s eq settings will be cool but with an app they can update that so I like that flexibility. Overall a great buy.

[Rigid Plastic] I've been in the market for for a new Bluetooth speaker and I finally found the one. I was looking for something a little bigger, louder (with more bass of course), and a longer battery life for those long beach days and camping trips. I was blown away as this speaker checks off every one of those boxes. It is the perfect size for being big enough to fill any room and the outdoor party I had last weekend, while not being too big where it is no longer portable. The best feature of the SoundLink Max is the the adjustable EQ settings using the Bose app. It's so easy to adjust based on your surroundings or favorite music genre. I tend to like listening to music with a lot of bass and I was blown away with the sound quality with the volume cracked up and bass all the way up. It also was quite convenient when my phone died the other day and I was able to plug it into the speaker to charge vs having to leave my phone inside to charge. The icing on the cake is the fact that it's also waterproof. I highly recommend yet again another great Bose product and look forward to bring it many places!

The sound is crisp, and clear, and boasts punchy bass and smooth treble. Don't let its size fool you, I was so surprised by the incredible volume range of the Bose Soundlink Max. In fact, on full blast, I could still hear my music clearly from over 250 feet away! One of the most unique things I love about this speaker is was made for adventure. I'm always outdoors, exploring rugged terrain, and adventuring around water. Believe it or not the Max Freaking FLOATS in water!!! How cool is that!

[Rigid Plastic] Unbelievably excellent portable speaker. This is my best Bose product I have owned. I also have Soundlink Flex which is also great but this one is in a whole new level. No matter what genre you’re listening to, the balance of low, mids and hi are just spectacular. Battery life also unbeatable. Highly recommended.

[Rigid Plastic] I've owned several Bose products and loved all of what I've had so far. This speaker is no exception! Bose has made great strides to improve sound quality recently and especially the bass. I've used products from years ago that were not focused on those aspects and I'm amazed with how far it's come. One thing I thought was very interesting was I found out music production plays a huge role in sound quality, some songs sounded amazing and well balanced and others weren't as clear. That just goes to show that the speaker is fully capable of playing music well, so long as it was produced well. :) With the songs that are produced well, it really is amazing to listen to then on this speaker. You can hear things you didn't hear before and levels of detail that are amazing. I found several songs I never knew on some test playlists that sounded really good on this speaker. It was fun to listen to the songs I love on it and hear the differences. The amount of power this thing can push out is insane, it can get really loud. I did find the best sound hangs out in the mid to upper mid range of volume, the lower levels are pretty quiet and the loudest range is a little washed out. That being said, most of the time I don't use the highest volume, so the sweet spot sits just right for me. I also appreciate the battery life because I often forget to charge it yet it still runs. My QuietComfort headphones are the same story, way to go on battery life!

The packaging the product came in was very well designed and also included a USB-C charging cable and power supply (US based). A lot of companies cheap out on that stuff so it was nice to have that included.

Overall a really impressive product. I currently own a few small Bluetooth speakers and this one really blows them out of the water. It sits on a completely different level that them. I got the blue and I love the color, but that's just personal preference!

[Rigid Plastic] Wow!!! I had high expectations but this far exceeded what I was expecting. Bose has always had exceptional high quality sound at loud volume, but the bass was a big, unexpected surprise. This thing drives the sound and is easily comparable to speakers 3 or 4 times its size, but with that high quality sound that makes Bose unique. Great job on this one!
