Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. 1) Is it only the one chair included? 2) Would this pin fit in a baby reciever of a combo stand?

A: The Proaim Dolly Seat is one item in the package. The 1"pin on the seat is meant to fit into the Proaim Seat Arm Extensions Vertical 12". The 1 1/8" or 5/8" receiver on a combo stand is too big for the 1" pin on the seat.

Q: 2. Is this chair compatible with a Fanatech CSL Elite F1?

A: Yes this chair is compatible with Fanatech CSL Elite F1.

Q: 3. ORIGINAL QUESTION: Does it impede window operation? Can the window glass move a bit up or down with this attached to the door? The only answer given makes the assumption a head, camera and lens would still be attached to the mounting bracket. I want to know if the window would be fully operational with just the mounting bracket in place?

A: The window is operational when this support is in place.

Q: 4. What is the weight limit on the Car Window Mount without the Single Lever Ball Head? Will it support a Canon T71 with a 75-300mm telephoto lens?

A: Yes, it is designed to support a Canon T7i with 75-300mm lens. However, it will need the ball head attached to the window mount, as the window mount has a 3/8"-16 screw and the camera has a 1/4"-20 thread. It is a good idea to lock the head in place with the set screws to prevent slipping.

Q: 5. Can it use for Sachtler FSB 8T head?

A: Yes. Nice combination.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with Thrustmaster TX RW Leather edition and please check customs duty for Shipping to India. Thank you

A: It is compatible. I am sorry this we would not have any information on import taxes for India. You would need to check with your local custom office.

Q: 7. Playseat Air Force Flight Simulator Seat. Is this compatible with the Playseat Seat Slider?

A: No, The Flight Simulator Seat is an all-in-one device with foot pedals placement on the floor. It does not use/need a slider.

Q: 8. Does it scratch the car door when mounted outside the window?

A: I suppose the metal lower section could scratch the door..if left installed and you drove another hour over gravel roads. The device is designed to be installed on the inside of a door. IF you decided it was best used on the outside, I'd personally find something like foam wrap for pipes or even glue some old bicycle inner rube around the metal edge and then use some green painters Masking tape for a non permanent non sticky residue way to hold the rubber edge to the door. I don't think I'd drive around with the Eagle on the outside of my vehicle. Dust and road grime aren't good for bearings.

Q: 9. I am interested I a product you dont have in stock, I want to get it for my sons bday, can u please check if possible u might have it in warehouse or even a damaged one I would buy , Its a playseat challenge B&H#PLCRS Mfr#RC.00002

A: Yes. No problem. Please come pick it up from the store.

Q: 10. what's actiffit?

A: I believe ActiFit is a marketing term that the Playseat Challenge Racing Seat's (Black ActiFit) manufactures are using to describe the seats ability adjustability. [Additional] This is by far the best invention since the tripod and gimbal head. There are many spots where you can observe wildlife from your car. However your shoulders and elbows get strained holding the camera, and bean bags just don't do the trick. I put the gimbal head on the Eagle support and it becomes a very stable platform for shooting.. I have even used the wireless remote shutter release and just sat and fired away. This is a product that should be advertised. Though I do not have physical limitations, there are photographers who are restricted to their vehicles. This could be very helpful. Leveling the platform can be a bit tricky in the beginning, but after a couple of uses, you quickly get the hang of it.

[3-Year ] Used the eckla on a birding trip it supports my Nikon 600mm f4 perfectly with the gimbal head. Performed sturdy as tripod. It was on the inside of the window of my jeep it was a little tight but could ride down the road with the window shut. I plan to mainly use in the truck where I will have more room. I would recommend this product.

[Additional] Once I received this, the very first thing I was impressed with is the build quality and 'heft' to the lens support! Impressive!!! I've matched this to my Oben GH-30 and RRS BH-55 and have two very solid set-ups depending on what I want to shoot...

[3-Year ] this is exactly what I was looking for, it fits on my car door perfectly, with my Gimbal head on fell just like the tripod, one thing I like the most is I can drive with camera and 500mm lens attached and roll up the window to avoid dust get on your lens when you ready to take a shot all you need to do is open the car window, it's way better than sand bag.

[3-Year ] Like another reviewer, I am disabled and can only shoot from
the driver’s seat (using Nikon 200-500mm and gimbal head). The Eckla Eagle is very well made and designed. My only quibble is that the vertical edge that slides down into the door window slot is not very “deep,” only about ¾  inch. That allows the entire platform to slip out if lifting the lens upward, or if driving slowly over a bump or curve (slow speeds on deserted roads only, of course). I glued a 2” sheet metal “extension” to that edge for a “deeper” penetration into the window slot. I also added a bungee cord attached to the bottom of the door to exert a downward pull on the EE.

Another reviewer described being able to raise the window while the EE is in place. That means that only the interior plastic door panel,
(fairly flexible on most modern vehicles), and not the window glass, is supporting his EE. To me, this is not nearly rigid enough. I hook the EE edge OVER the window glass, in its lowered position, for the most rigidity possible. Car window glass is easily strong enough for this. In fact, the EE is designed so that one can reverse the window slot edge piece so that it grips only the window glass, when raised 2+ inches.

[Additional] I use this with a Wimberley WH-200 & a Canon 600mm f/4 II USM. It's easy to adjust and to install quickly. Getting the bubble level in the middle can be a bit of a challenge. If you don't have it adjusted properly it will slide with a quick stop. It beats hand holding keeps down the vibrations I don't need to turn on stabilization which results in better photos. A NatGeo photographer was using one of these and was why I originally picked this one. Love it

[Additional] I purchased both this support and the Kirk WM-2. The Kirk seems to have a stronger construction, but presents a few issues that puts the Eckla in first place. 1. the Eckla fits perfectly in the window door slot allowing the window to be up or down. Once mounted, you can swing the camera sideways, and raise the window for travel. 2. the Eckla has a large flat surface and presents a lower profile for a camera mount or gimbal head. 3. it can be mounted inside OR outside the vehicle. 4. it is quickly removed and reinstalled.

We spend a month or more shooting (photography) in the Kruger each year and found this support to be perfect.

[3-Year ] I use this in areas where I cannot get out of the car. I go on a wildlife drive and it's not safe or allowed to be in the same area with Bison. I use this Car door lens support mount with a Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal head. My lens setup is a 600 f/4 II prime with a 1.4 or 2x III extender. I can rotate it enough to get it inside the window so I can close the window during cold weather months. You can either mount it inside or you can mount it outside of the vehicle on the door with some minor modification. It has a bubble level which is nice but I rarely use it because the vehicle is rarely on a level surface. I use the in camera level instead and adjust the camera accordingly. I do shut off the car at times to get sharp photos and avoid motor vibration. This is an awesome setup but you are limited to the side you have it mounted on. I would keep a smaller 100 - 400 handheld setup to take photos on the opposite side of the vehicle. The screw does want to thread into the metal. which can make it difficult to remove the gimbal at times. I just make sure I apply upward pressure on the knob to avoid it hopefully they will fix this in a future revision but not a deal breaker.
