Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the base made out of steel?

A: The legs are not made of steel. The entire stand is comprised of aluminum with steel bolts and nuts except for the top riser and one part of the leveling leg which are steel. It's a good stand and will hold every bit of the weight it is rated for. Folded up, It is taller than I expected which was not a plus for me but I removed the inner shock absorbing springs which made it about 3 inches shorter. All in all, I'm happy with the stand. It's light weight which is why I bought it. Hope this helps.

Q: 2. Can this be plugged directly into the 3.5mm microphone jack on the a PC? or does it necessary to plug it into an amplifier?

A: To use the RODE HS2 Lightweight Headset Microphone with a computer, a USB audio interface with a microphone input, such as the RODE AI-Micro USB-C Audio Interface (B&H # ROAIMICRO), should be used.

Q: 3. Can you confirm the closed length of this stand in inches? The listed specs of 2.25 feet or .106 meters are different lengths.

A: This stand has a closed length of 27 inches.

Q: 4. Can I use the Rode HS2 with a Sennheiser SK 100 G3 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter?

A: Yes. This mic will work with your Sennheiser.

Q: 5. What Rode transmitter is compatible with this? No the wireless go right?

A: The Rode HS2 Headset Mic can be used with any of the Rode wireless transmitters that have a locking or a non-locking 3.5mm TRS input. Rode's tech support has confirmed that the locking ring on the mic's connector is removable so the HS2 can be used with Rode's Wireless GO, Wireless GO II, and RodeLink transmitters, as well as with wireless transmitters from other manufacturers that use the same type of locking 3.5mm TRS connector with Sennheiser style wiring or with recorders like the Zoom F2 and the Tascam DR-10L which both have a locking 3.5mm TRS mic input, and recorders and cameras that have a standard non-locking 3.5mm TRS mic input. Older versions of the HS2 that do not have a removable locking ring can be used with the RodeLink transmitters and other transmitters that have a locking 3.5mm TRS connector with Sennheiser style wiring, as well as with recorders with a locking input like the those mentioned above.

Q: 6. Is this stand compatible with arri 650w lights?

A: This stand has an industry standard 5/8 stud, that should work with your Arri 650w lighting.

Q: 7. Can I use this headset with shure ULXD and AD Series??, I need some Adapter or change the pinout of the connector??

A: We unfortunately do not have any adapters available that will convert the locking 3.5mm TRS male connector on the Rode HS2 Lightweight Headset Microphone to a TA4 4-pin mini XLR female connector for compatibility with Shure wireless transmitters. However, we do have other headsets that are compatible with Shure wireless transmitters such as the Shure WBH54T Beta 54 Headworn Vocal Microphone - Tan (B&H # SHWBH54T), the Shure DH5 DuraPlex Omnidirectional Headset Microphone - Tan (B&H # SHDH5TOMTQG), the Galaxy Audio HSM8 Dual-Ear Headset Mic with 4 Cables - Beige (B&H # GAHS8OBG4MX), the Point Source Audio Series8 Omnidirectional Waterproof Headset Microphone with TA4F Connector for Shure, Line 6, JTS, Trantec, Carvin Wireless Transmitters - Beige (B&H # POCO8WDXSHBE), or the MIPRO MU-53HNSX Dual-Ear Cardioid Headset Microphone for Wireless Transmitters - Beige (B&H # MIMU53HNSX).

[1 to 10 VDC] this stand has been fantastic support for my elinchrom ranger quadras. very light and easy to haul around. Thats the goal of my whole kit as I am an on location portrait photographer. It hasnt dissapointed yet and I expect many years of service.

[1 lb (455 g)] I got two of these stands specifically for light location work. They fit perfectly in a Pelican 1650 case with padding. With a load capacity of 9 lbs, I use them with my Profoto B1 heads that weigh 6.61 lbs with a light modifier. Use a sandbag at the base of the stand and you're good to go.

[Omnidirectional] we really Like that the locks are space out on on top of the other so you can line them up nice and neat! I like the all metal design heavy duty for lights. the locks are descently design they dont look like they are going to break off like the the old plastic locks. We use it here at a Video rental house we swear by this stand for our kits.

[0.2 lb] I use this product on my film sets to hold smaller lights (250's, 300's etc.) They are reliable, sturdy. never fail. Will use them for the indefinite future.

[1 to 10 VDC] I really love this stand. It collapses down to a short 30 and extends up to 8.5'. It is very stable at that height but super stable with a shot bag added to the base.

[1 lb (455 g)] Every time I set up these stands I feel the quality. Smooth action, well built, precise. The cost is reflected in that, but these stands probably have 30 years life in them and you can get spare parts if they are ever damaged.

[Omnidirectional] I own a ton of these little guys that go out with my arri lights. They're easy to setup, lightweight, and get the job done when a c-stand is just overkill.

[1 to 10 VDC] May be pricier than some, but the small size and solid construction make it a winner for me.
