The near infrared digital camerais a near-infrared to infrared control filter that is designed for digital cinematography. Many digital motion-picture cameras are designed to maximize their ability to capture red hues, and in that process near-infrared or infrared contamination may occur. If the proportion of near-infrared or infrared light that reaches the sensor of a digital cinematography camera becomes too great, the results can show unwanted color shifts, particularly in dark areas of the frame such as shadows where the appearance of black is dominant.

When the Tiffen 72mm T1/2 IR Filter is used, near-infrared light waves beginning at 680nm are blocked by approximately 45%. Infrared light waves at higher frequencies are further impeded until nearly flat attenuation is achieved at 775 to 800nm. This process helps to ensure that the light that falls on the camera's sensor is limited to the visible spectrum. Potential near-infrared or infrared color shifts are prevented or minimized, which preserves color accuracy throughout the frame. While a Tiffen T1/2 IR Filter is sufficient for many cameras, others may have sensors that require a higher degree of near-infrared and infrared control, such as that provided by a Tiffen T1 IR Filter.

This filter is constructed from Water White glass for increased clarity as well as color fidelity. It is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

Q: 1. Will this also work with the K70?

A: Yes, this remote will function with the K70.

    Q: 2. Will this work with the Ricoh WG-5, B&H # RIWG5GB?

A: This remote is listed as compatible on the RICOH website. Their product number is O-RC1. It is also listed as an accessory on B&H. It is the remote listed on the Spec heading on B&H listing for WG-5 GPS/I have this remote, & it works great with a Pentax K3, I'm pretty sure it will work with WG-5, based on RICOH's page and B&H Page. Sorry I cannot be more solid in my answer, but I have no experience with the WG-5.

Q: 3. Could you use this on a home stereo?

A: Yes, you can use the Bogen Armadillo speaker with a home stereo. It is suitable for playing music.

Q: 4. Does this work for the K3 and does it start/stop video recording? What is the range?

A: It does work for the K3 except for the Fn button. It will start and stop video recording in the video mode but you need to set the drive mode to remote. The video setting for this is independent of the still mode setting for the remote. The range is rather limited - about 20 to 30 feet and is line of site only as it is an IR remote.

Q: 5. Will this kit allow an AppleTV remote to connect with and work with a 2013 MacBook Air?

A: Depending on the Apple TV remote you have, it will work with the MacBook Air. This will not control your MacBook. You can use the standard Apple remote BH #APMM4T2AMA.

Q: 6. My cable box has a port that reads IR. I presume that I may plug this into that port so I can place the cable box out of sight?

A: It's difficult to predict how well any ir extender will work in a particular situation. Lights can be a factor. Kopul intends this transmitter and receiver kit to be used with a switch like this: Kopul HDMI Switcher 4 x 1 B&H # KOHDSW2041 MFR # HDSW-2041. You may be able to use something like this: Kramer 3.5mm to Single IR Emitter Cable (10') B&H # KRCA35MIRE10 MFR # C-A35M/IRE-10

Q: 7. Does this remote work with Pentax Optio WG-2 ?I need it on my kayak while I'm fishing.

A: The Pentax Waterproof Infrared Remote Control is compatible with the Optio WG-2 camera.

Q: 8. What is the function of the lower two buttons ?

A: The button with trees is the autofocus button, the FN or function button can be assigned settings to mirror the P function on tour camera BUT only certain models and of course the big orange circle button is the trigger.

Q: 9. Hi! What range could you reasonably expect this to work out to? I have the older remote that came with my Pentax K-5, and it only works out to about 10-15'.

A: Like the other Pentax infrared remotes, performance depends heavily on ambient light conditions. Outdoors in bright sunlight you should not expect more than 15 ft, depending on sun direction. Indoors or int dark conditions, 25-30 feet is reasonable.

    Q: 10. Wats the wiring

A: The Bogen A6WHT NEAR A Series Armadillo Speaker uses a bare wire terminal tap connection for cable connections from an amplifier providing 8 ohm or 70V powered audio source connections.

[Glass] This was included in my bundle or else I wouldn’t have ordered it. However, it worked great out of the box without any issues! Great value and happy

[Aluminum] I have played around with my filter but being winter there isnt  any leaves on trees to make a big difference in the outcome. I have been taking water with old fishing houses and boat pictures. They look a lot better then B&W with a lot of depth and shadows but when spring comes and I get some living subjects like leaves I will know for sure :) I have been shooting in Monochrome so I dont have to take the saturation out later. I dont like editing much. I like to get it right the first time. Didnt have any clouds on this day of example :(

[IR/UV Control] The disclaimer in these reviews should always begin with: everyone has different standards, based on their experience... In my opinion, these little monitors are a great solution (genius, actually) for audio mixing when you're not working out of a larger studio. As advertised, these provide excellent, accurate, crisp sound and LF/Flat/HF options at the push of a button. Overall range is superb...like you're listening to much larger monitors. Bluetooth works well, but for video editing I use a cabled connection to my desktop due to latency between the sound and picture. Obviously not an issue when you're only mixing audio tracks.

Portability is a plus if you need to travel and mix. No problem fitting into a camera pack with laptop, cans, etc... for carry-on sized luggage bins. I researched (and bought and returned) other systems. If you need monitors for a smaller space that produce beautiful sound while offering a flat frequency option, it's hard to do better than this for the price. Especially now that they're south of $400. And when you just want to listen to marathon trance mixes while working on your base grade, they deliver in that realm, too. Even without a dedicated sub.

[Glass] This is one of the few filters you can't identify without either a flashlight or reading the edge text: it looks like a deep, black/neutral density filter. A flashlight will show read looking through it.

Usually, you need to pre-focus and switch to manual before putting this filter on, to get focus where it needs to be. My R7 can figure out exposure with the filter on in daylight... at dusk, you gotta do the math, but it has nice effects.

[IR/UV Control] This was a Xmas present for my husband. We have tried a variety of cameras and have not found the perfect one. I talked to a representative on the phone and this was the camera that we came up with and it is a winner. It takes excellent photos. The underwater feature works great which was one of the selling points. The surprise that we weren't thinking about was the ring lighting and microscopic focus. That has turned out to be one of our favorite features. Love the camera and really appreciate the advise from B&H

[Glass] Going to the PSI Audio is an upgrade from the Adam A7Xs Id been using for 5 years. While Id say the Adams are 95% of the way to unadulterated flat audio the PSIs bring it up to 98%. For some that small difference might not be worth the large difference in price. All depends on your resources and how you choose to use them. For me monitors and sound treatment are of upmost importance to the realization of my productions. They are the window from which I view sound and a foggy window, or a small window, will impede the seeing of what is there. The PSIs offer a remarkably clean and balanced 3 dimensional imaging. Ive noticed little ear fatigue, even after many hours, unlike the Adams, which can tend to sound brittle after some hours of listening. I use the PSIs as near-fields and find them actually well suited to a 3 distance I normally work at (even though they are recommended for a further distance). With the Adams I employed a sub (either a Genelec or the Adam Sub8). With the PSIs I dont feel the need for a sub.

[Aluminum] Used to say NEAR on the outside, now it says BOGEN.
But it's still a good speaker.
