Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this lens kit bundled with the Capture Clip V2 or V3?

A: The Peak Design Sony E/FE CaptureLENS comes with the V2 clip. It is compatible with the V3 clip as well.

Q: 2. What if you happen to be carrying a few extra pounds of body fat?

A: It should not be an issue.

Q: 3. is the body of this unit made of metal? I have the Gowing equivalent of the Peak, and the body is plastic and there are reports of failure with dropping of an expensive lens. I hesitate to use my unit.

A: The plate that slips into the device that clamps onto a belt or strap is made of metal. The flat belt gizmo is also metal so you have a secure metal to metal connection. The red protusion on the flat plate ejects the lens holding body when pushed in but also pulls out and rotates to lock the protusion from being accidently depressed and releasing the lens holder. The black wheel clamps down and secures the lens holder in place even further. The body itself to which the lenses attach is of plastic which WOULD be of concern if the slideing base that locks to the belt holder were of plastic but it's not. Metal to metal connection. I use it confidently even with both a 70-200 and 24-70 attached simultaneously. Only time it failed me is when I didn't completely rotate the 70-200 to its lock position. Fell 30 to concrete on the lens hood but did't do any evident or lasting damage.

Q: 4. Do they have one for Sony Alpha lenses? Can you use an adapter on it safely?

A: Only Sony E Mount Lenses at this time

Q: 5. Does this work with the new capture?

A: Sure will!

Q: 6. Does this come with the clip to attach to your belt/pack?

A: Yes, the clip is included.

Q: 7. Does it have a divider (membrane) in the middle, so it can protect the back of the lens from dust, when only one lens is mounted?

A: Yes,it has and I use it a lot of times for fast switching between lenses instead of taking it out in the bag during location shoot.Hope this helps.

Q: 8. I see in the last photo that it can rotate the lens, but my son has bouht it and it can not rotate. I want it can rotate, there are 2 models ?

A: Pull it out, then you can rotate it. I had the same problem for a while. So, if you have it on your belt, pull the lenses and their holder away from your belt and then you will be able to rotate the lenses and their holder. It is such a nice tight fit that it is easy to miss.

Q: 9. Will this work with a panasonic micro four thirds lens

A: No, this is for a Canon EF mount lens.

Q: 10. How do you attach your tripod with this on

A: When using a tripod you will have to remove it so you can attach the quick release plate

[Flip Lock] The CaptureLENS does come with instructions accompanied by pictures, which is good for a visual person like myself. Although, the instructions are not necessary, as the CaptureLENS is super easy to use and is mostly self-explanatory. I would recommend attaching it to a belt or something fairly sturdy. Attaching it to the camera strap is just fine, but if you have heavy lenses, it can flop around a bit. 5/5 would definitely recommend to my friends, and already have.

[4] Love it, keeps gear safer not having to open bag to get lens in field, plus saves time so I don't miss a shot...just wish they made it for the Canon rf lens too.

[1.95 lb] This is my second one I've purchased. There have been improvements made since my first purchase. Black cap now locks in place (did not before). Bracket now has a tightening screw that keeps the lens holder from moving.

[Aluminum] What a cool little device! I seem to always fumble lenses while trying to change them. This gives me a place to carry a spare lens, as well as the lens I just took off the camera. Then you flip it around and grab the lens you’re putting on the camera. That wasn’t a good explanation - just go to their site and watch the video. And their “Capture” bracket makes it so you can attach this device to your belt, a camera strap, a bag, pretty much wherever. And it can also hold your camera, but you’ll probably want a second Capture for that.

[Aluminum] Works as described. It seems like the arrow is opposite of what you need causing you to need to rotate the lens when changing. All in all it has been a pleasure to use and the capture works well too.

[Aluminum] It does what it says it will do, holds an extra lens or two and makes pretty easy to switch lenses. Integrates nicely with the Peak system (those little fobs).

[Aluminum] This price of equipment comes out everytime my production team videos a wedding. It eliminates the necessity of having a camera bag over your shoulder/in the way of everything. Transitioning from one lens to the next is super quick. I kinda need a threeway though. It can tend bounce and your belt needs to be tight, so almost gave it four stars because of that. I don't think there's a better option and this one does a specific job really well.
