The pci express capture cardfrom pci express capture cardis a single-channel stand-alone PCI Express dual-link DVI capture card. The card has a 650MB/s transfer bandwidth, and a maximum canvas of 4K x 4K that allows any DVI source to be captured. Integrated DVI equalizers on its inputs support longer input cable lengths, up to 65.6' (20m). The video capture card is suitable for a wide range of applications, including large video walls, high-resolution and high-bandwidth applications, advanced medical and machine video capture, IP Render decode capture, radar, security/surveillance, and military applications.

The VisionDVI-DL card is supplied with a software application for configuring the format of the input sources and displaying the data. Simply connect your video source into the card, run the VisionDVI-DL application to automatically detect the video source resolution and display the captured video in a window on your desktop. For streaming applications, the VisionDVI-DL capture card can be used with Windows Media Encoder to compress and stream captured video. To replay the video, use Windows Media Player. Any application compatible with Windows DirectShow technology can use the VisionDVI-DL capture card due to its built-in WDM support.

The Datapath Wall Control-red video wall software enables you to configure your multi-screen display, launch video overlays and create a video wall layout configuration. Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How well does this work for leagacy video transfer from VHS without dropping frames or stopping at dropped frames?

A: The HD Express likely would have worked well for this application, but since MOTU is moving away from video interfaces, I can't in good faith recommend the HD Express due to its compatibility limitations: If you need further assistance, please contact customerservice@motu.com.

Q: 2. I can use it as a monitor on real 5.1 final cut pro x ?

A: Yes, you can use the HD Express for 5.1 audio monitoring with FCPX.

Q: 3. Will this work on the ASRock X99 Extreme4 ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard?

A: Yes, this will work with that model of motherboard.

Q: 4. I have an older Macbook Pro (around 2008). Will this work?I want to capture video from the component output of my old Sony HVR Z1U camcorder to 1080p in Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro.Will this do it?Many thanks.

A: Sorry update: Not my Macbook Pro. My Mac Pro (tower).Couldn't find a way to edit the original question.

Q: 5. Does this unit maintain the 4x3 shvs, composite and component 4x3 aspect ration when converted to HDMI?

A: The aspect ratio will remain 4:3: Default Mode: As explained in chapter 5, “HD Express Basics” (page 23), HD Express has two modes of operation: Capture and Playback. Your host video software determines the mode, depending on what you are doing (i.e. capturing or playing back the timeline). The Default Mode setting (Figure 6-1) lets you choose which mode the HD Express enters when the host relinquishes control over the HD Express hardware, such as when you quit or switch out of your host software. If you spend most of your time just monitoring or just capturing, operation will be faster if you set this to the mode you expect to use most. https://bit.ly/3w24jhS

Q: 6. Can we build RGBEasy on Linux platform?

A: Possibly. Operating System Support:Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7 (x86 and x64 operating systems), Windows 8 and Linux support. Please contact Datapath directly for guidance:DATAPATH: Email: sales@datapath.co.uk

Q: 7. I have an Asus Gaming laptop w/HDMI port. Using Adobe Premiere Elements to capture live DV. Will this device allow me to capture video?

A: This unit currently supports MAC operating software only. However Windows support will be coming soon, but that will work with Premiere Pro, not Elements. Also you will need a PCI Express Port on your laptop to connect it, the HDMI Port on your laptop is for outputting a monitor signal. You will not be able to capture video through that HDMI Port. You may want to look in to something like the Startech USB 3.0 Video Capture Device. This would allow you to capture a wide variety of inputs, it has included recording/streaming software and is compatible with Windows computers.

Q: 8. Does it come with capture software? Or do you need to use an old version of Premiere Pro to capture? Can you also set how long it will capture for then stop?

A: It does not come with capture software, but should work on versions of Premiere CS5 or later, as per manufacturer specs. In and out points are not set on this device but should be entered on the software interface being used.

Q: 9. I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) with thunderbolt and usb3. Is this product fully functional with a thunderbolt to express card adapter?

A: JMR makes a PCIe to Thunderbolt adapter that will allow you to connect this device to your computer. However its full functionality will depend on the specs of your computer more so than the connection. MacBook Pros tend to be powerful machines, even when they are a few years old, so I do not think there will be any issues.

Q: 10. Is the PCIe HDMI card an HDMI-in ?

A: Sorry, but the answer is no. The PCI card is used only for connection to the interface. It does not pass a raw HDMI signal.

[0.81 lb] I needed a HDMI 1080p and 7.1 surround monitoring solution for my MacPro running FCPro and Logic 9. I already have a Black Magic Intensity Pro which has worked well but could only route 2 channels of audio over HDMI. The HD Express install was seamless and has no problem sharing the PCIe buss with the Intensity Pro card and a Sonnet eSATA card. I like the fact the HD Express can also route 8 channels to the 8 RCA output providing many more monitoring configuration possibilities. Only downside, HD Express is not totally compatible with Pro Tools 10. PT can access the HD Express for audio output but not video. However, I am able to run 7.1 audio thru the HD Express and 1080p video thru the Intensity Pro so far without any problems. The MOTU HD Express just might be one of the best and least expensive solutions for getting HDMI video and 8 channels of embedded audio out of the MacPro in support of monitoring video and 7.1 surround in FCPro and Logic 9. I highly recommend the HD Express,

[0.81 lb] I gotta say I was worried that is was not working as soon as I plugged it, it turned out to be that my TV was 1080i and I had a 1080p setting on it, after making that change it worked just as I expected. Great box.

[0.81 lb] I use it on a PC with Avid Media Composer and Premiere Pro primarily for playback on my LCD screen via HDMI. I had some bugs at first, but finally found how to correctly update the firmware to version 1.07. Now, it's working flawlessly. But you have to choose the right video output format depending on the NLE you are using if you are working in progressive mode. I got a few crashes that required a system reboot. But I am not sure of the cause right now.
