It has a nominal sensitivity of ISO 125/22° in standard chemistry, and its very wide exposure latitude enables exposing up to two stops under or six stops over while retaining usable results. In addition to general photographic applications, FP4 Plus is also an ideal choice for copy and internegative work, as well as scientific, technical, and industrial photography.

This item is one 100'-long roll of standard-perforation 35mm film designed for bulk loading applications.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. As this film doesn't come in a canister how do you use it?

A: In place of the canister, the film is wrapped in lightproof paper. Unlike 35 mm film, when you load the film into the camera, you are not holding the film in your hand; instead, you are attaching a piece of lightproof paper to the spool. Once you close the camera back, you advance that roll of paper until, depending on the type of medium format camera you are using, you reach the beginning of the film.

Q: 2. Im ONLY 4 days into my Mamiya 645 1000s path, how do I know what films I can use in my camera,or,are all 120 films useable in the camera?

A: All 120 film could be used in the Mamiya 645.

Q: 3. What is the expiry date for the films in the Ilford HP5+ 50-roll pack?

A: Any film that was within 6 months of its expiration date would specifically listed as short-dated on our site, and sold as such. As this is not short-dated, its expiration date will be at least 6-months out. Unfortunately, we cannot give an exact expiration date for the film. The warehouse is not located near our offices for us to physically check an item for expiration date, serial numbers, etc.

Q: 4. Can I develop this film using C41 developer? Thanks

A: No way... This is a standard B&W film. Best developer to use is Rodinol 1/32 at 8.5 minutes. This is definitely NOT a C-41 film.

Q: 5. How to I determine the exposure time?

A: There are several ways to determine the correct exposure. Obviously using a light meter is a good start. It could be a basic hand held incident meter, reflected light meter or even an app on a smart phone. One can also use sunny 16 to determine an approximate exposure. I've also used a digital camera to do a test shot and figure up settings from there. Hope that helps.

Q: 6. How flat is this film when using a flat bed scanner? Does it had a strong curl?

A: FP4 has a transparent purple base. It does scan well on a flatbed with a rear light element but you will want to white balance the base if scanning in color before printing.

Q: 7. Does this film work in normal lighting or extreme lighting?

A: As a 50 iso ( slower, less sensitive to light) film it requires a fair amount of light. If you're used to shooting 400 speed film like HP5+, you'll also likely notice this film has more contrast.

Q: 8. Are 100 films separated by 25 films?

A: Yes, 4 packs of 25.

Q: 9. is it 35mm film ?

A: No, this is the 120/medium format version of Ilfordd FP4. You can find the 35mm version here:https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?N=10024661&InitialSearch=yes&sts=suggestions-pi&typedValue=ilford+fp target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?N=10024661&InitialSearch=yes&sts=suggestions-pi&typedValue=ilford+fp/a

Q: 10. manufacturing date ?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

[125] Growing up in a Film dependent world where one had to know what ones film was capable of before Digital, made you realize that the film you used was to be fine tuned to your needs, the Ilford FP4 was an excellent choice and if you are getting started in photography this is an excellent choice, and for those of us old enough to remember Ilford FP4 dust off your old 35mm and load a roll!

[125] Excellent base, dries flat. Excellent blacks. Sharp enough. Has a nice industrial look with iron objects, concrete, and glass. Excellent film for environmental type work. I shoot it mostly at box speed, occasionally at ISO 125. I use 510 Pyro mostly to develop. If I'm running a large batch, DD-X.

[35mm] i do not heave anything that looks like it might be useable. Drug out my Canon 7e, unwrapped a roll and fill in love again. I had the numbers very close using D-76 mixed 1 + 1 and the rest was downhill. No one could examine these negatives and guess they should be in an old persons home for film.
