This lens for canon 6d mark iiis designed to allow a separately available SW150 Mark II Filter Holder to connect to a Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 II DG HSM lens, which then permits the use of 150mm-wide, 2mm-thick filters without vignetting.

This lens adapter consists of three components: a front ring, a compression ring, and a locking ring. Placement of the lens adapter onto the lens is easily accomplished by sliding the front ring over the built-in hood with the front ring's integrated lugs positioned away from the lens body. The compression ring can then be slid over the rear of the lens until it meets the front ring. Finally, the locking ring is also slid over the rear of the lens until it can be screwed into the front ring. After that is accomplished, an SW150 Mark II Holder can be placed over the adapter from the front of the lens for use.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this L-plate compatible with the BG-E21 battery grip for the 6D Mark ii?

A: This plate will not work. It is designed to be used without the grip on.

Q: 2. Does it work on 6D mark I?

A: No this will not work on Canon 6D

Q: 3. I have a question... how come is it that Canon just announced the release of this camera and is not even in stock?? Why don't they announce their devices when they can actually fulfill orders?

A: With just about any camera manufacturers, cameras are announced and information is made available well before they are available to ship.

Q: 4. Does this camera have tracking functions for bird photography like the 7D MII?

A: The term you're looking for here is predictive auto-focus. The original 6D has it, and from what I've read the 6DMII does as well. As an original 6D owner, I've had really good usage of the predictive auto-focus by using just the center cross-type focal mode in AI Servo mode. I've maintained tracking on an egret while it has flown behind interspersed marsh grasses. It's really quite an amazing focussing system. With the MKII having more focal points, I would venture that the predictive auto-focussing will be even easier to use.

Q: 5. Do you have to use the same capacity/brand of batteries when using this device? For instance, I have both LP-e6 and Lp-e6n batteries, I have some Canon brand batteries and some third-party batteries. Will mixing the different kinds of batteries give me trouble?

A: When using the Canon BG-E20 Battery Grip for EOS 5D Mark IV, one should either use 2 original Canon LP-E6(N) batteries or 2 LP-E6 third party batteries together. When one mixes the original Canon batteries with third party ones, the grip will not function properly.

Q: 6. Is the IPB compression on this camera better/different than it's predecessor? I'm trying to understand why they dropped the higher quality ALL-I compression from this upgrade ?

A: While we cannot know what Canon's video engineers used in their decision making process to change the compression types made available in their Canon 6D Mark II camera, we can infer that it was most likely used in order to provide smaller file sizes to customers who may not need the higher-quality, tighter-editing capabilities of ALL-I compression over the included IPB compression. They probably went with ALL-I to differentiate the camera from the higher-powered cameras above this, like the 5D Mark IV or their cinema line of video cameras.

Q: 7. in video mode, does 6d2 support live view on camera screen when connected to an external monitor using hdmi cable?

A: Yes, but it depends one the monitor. The 6D mII supports playback for both video and stills over a standard HDMI to mini HDMI and supports live view of both as well. However when I hooked up to my Vizio TV it would not connect. It did with my Sharp TV. Both are several years old. With a current TV or external monitor I would suspect that you should not have any problems.

Q: 8. Can this camera send a clean full HD signal over HDMI? Is it limited to HD or can it send full resolution via HDMI? Am wondering if there's a way to get better image quality out of this camera for video by using an external recorder.

A: I believe the earlier answer is incorrect.I hooked up my 6DII to a TV, and it reported it as a 1920x1080x60 signal, and I can have all UI elements off screen - with manual focus. If you're using AF, the AF square will display. When hitting Record, the little red recording indicator appears in the upper right, but one could presumably just use Live View and turn off any auto-off functions to send a signal continuously to an external HDMI recorder.I don't have the knowhow or equipment to say whether it's a 4:2:2 signal, though.

Q: 9. will it work wth 6D?

A: No, it is only for the Canon 6D II.

Q: 10. How does it compare to the canon battery grip?

A: No idea because Ive never handled the Canon version. But this grip is doing all it is supposed to. And for the price I dont see how you could ever regret buying it.

[Aluminum] I had resisted buying an L bracket because I thought they looked bulkly and dorky. Saw a review of gadgets by a photographer I know and respect and now wonder why I waited so long. No more dangling camera body, attempting to make sure that I am in perfect portrait alignment.

[Aluminum] Thorough and concise, sure beats trying to make your own, it’s laminated too, a big plus.

[0.42 lb] After spending a considerable amount of time contemplating which L-Bracket I should get for my Canon 6D Mark II, I opted for the more affordable Sunwayfoto design (as opposed to Kirk or Really Right Stuff equivalents).
I made this decision as I wanted a bracket that did not require tooled-adjustment in certain situations in order to use the vari-angle screen - mission accomplished!
Sunwayfoto achieved this by spacing the vertical part of the L-Bracket forward with respect to the camera - I was worried that this offset would look out of place, become cumbersome, or get in the way of ports/buttons etc. but it doesnt - it fits snuggly and actually ends up being convenient in certain situations as it acts as an alternative grab/pick up point for your camera.

In conclusion: it fits properly, works brilliantly, and is an affordable L-bracket compared to others on the market - you wont be disappointed.

[Aluminum] A must have for photography lovers: Sure, if you love your 6D, you can access a menu via PDF on your phone or the big book, but this is a great, low tech card that has everything you need to quickly remind you of anything you may have forgotten. Sturdy, foldable, water proof, dust proof, etc. etc. For the price, its a must have!

[Aluminum] easy to install, easy to use, pretty much fits all kinds of tripod head. I also like that when you are not using it on the tripod the left side works like a grip where you can hold your camera there quite securely. Doesn't add much to the weight of my camera

[Aluminum] I searched around for several options, with very very few specifically made for the Canon 70D.  Fits great, does not interfere with the articulating screen and provides access to the side ports (mic, trigger, HDMI, A/V out).
