[Black] Like many photographers I have owned millions of camera bags. Mostly shoulder bags. Cheap ones and expensive ones. The thing is, I don't just take pictures, I also have a day job and like to travel light when flying. My last camera bag is a Billingham Hadley Pro and even with the strap pad, it's not comfortable with heavy gear. I almost wanted to throw it out when walking around Vegas with it. So I grabbed a BYOB 10 Backpack insert and stuck it into a Gregory Rhune 22 backpack and it's life changing. In the insert I can carry my Canon R6 with RF 24-105 F4 attached, RF 15-30mm and RF 100-400mm plus a speedlight. That leaves the rest of the backpack for a jacket, laptop, and any other random stuff I might want to carry. If I don't want to carry my camera but want to use the backpack (say, for work), I take the insert out and put it away - fully loaded and ready to go! It's brilliant and will be buying a BYOB 9 also for when I needs less camera stuff.

[Universal] Perfect size to insert in the most popular backpacks or luggage. In the past I was a profesional camera backpack user, but now I enjoy with the flexibility to wear any backpack or bag with this insert.
Exceed my expectations.

[Backpack Straps] Am outfitting a hiking backpack to carry camera gear as well as hiking essentials. Dedicated camera bags do not offer the support, ventilation, or the comfort that an average hiking pack does. The BYOB 10 allows me to have the best of both worlds. After experimenting with this one, it was clear that a second insert would take care of all my gear needs. For shorter days, just one BYOB is fine, but for multi day trips that require macro all the way to tele, I need two of them. I own a Tenba pack already so expected a well thought-out insert and got exactly what I expected.

[Black] I travel and hike a lot. Some are quick drives, other times I need to fly. When I fly, sometimes I bring a backpack and sometimes I bring an underseat bag......whatever the situation, this little guy does the trick! I keep it always backed with my basic kit: 6D II with a 28-300 lens, a 50mm lens, batteries, charger, and SD cards. One thing I don't have to think about (p.s. there is extra space, maybe enough for a small wide angle)

[5 lb] I use this with my Patagonia Snowdrifter 30L pack. It works great for keeping my Sony A7c, Tamron 150-500mm, Tamron 28-200mm, Samyang 18mm, and a few filters organized and protected. There's not a lot of extra space with the three lenses and camera, so I do carry a separate pouch with spare battery, cleaning kit, cables, etc. It's well made. All the seams are finished and solid, with good materials. My only modification suggestion would be to put shoulder strap clips on it so that you could throw it over your shoulder for short walks from the car. (Just don't unzip it and spill all the contents out onto the sidewalk.)

[Universal] After getting my camera, I've been looking for a case that can comfortably fit in my backpack, which I use often for hiking and travel. I wasn't too interested in getting a dedicated camera backpack, mainly because I don't want to carry too much stuff with me. After getting recommendations for Tenba's BYOB series, I ended up getting the BYOB 10 DSLR Backpack Insert.

As seen in the pictures attached (Costco card for scale), the main compartment can fit my Nikon Z6iii with an attached Nikkor Z 24-120 f/4 lens, and my Nikkor Z 20mm f/1.8 lens, along with extra batteries, an air blower, battery charger, various filters (and cases) and microfiber cloths. The zipped area inside the bag has extra SD cards, an SD card to USB adapter, CFExpress Type B card to USB adapter, and my camera's mount cap and a lens cap. The side compartments (outside of the bag) has some wires and a basic RGB light. The bag is able to handle these items very well.


The interior of the bag is relatively well-cushioned. I've dropped my backpack multiple times (with this bag inside) and the bag plus its contents always come out fine.


One thing I will note is that I also own a Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 lens for the Z-mount. This lens can *barely* fit in this bag if I remove everything *but* the camera + the other lens, but I would have to remove the paddings to make it work. So, I would keep that in mind.

[Backpack Straps] I've been looking for a camera case insert that I could use in an existing backpack that I have.

I planning to use this case to carry my Canon R6 plus two lenses. This case is able to hold the R6 and two lenses but its a tight fit and doesn't leave much room for anything else. The Tenba BYOB 10 is a better fit for full frame bodies and lenses. I think the BYOB 9 slim would be a better fit for small APSC mirrorless cameras.

The case itself is well made and comes with several adjustable dividers so that you can customize the interior space.

[5 lb] I like to carry both photographic and non-photographic items in my backpack, and this insert allows me to do that. It's not heavy but it's sturdy. The zipper opens the insert in a way that makes it easy to access cameras and lenses. This easily holds a full frame with 2 prime lenses. I am also able to squeeze in a Sony A6000 with the 70-350 mm lens and a Sony A7 III with the 35 f/1.4 lens plus camera straps, but it's a tight fit. If you have bigger or more equipment, get the 10 instead of the 9.
