The Dahle 565 Premium Guillotine Cutter 15.5"is a well-crafted cutter that will deliver many years of precise and accurate service. This guillotine-style cutter can faithfully handle a large load over and over. It's a large capacity cutter with a rugged blade that can handle 35 sheets of paper at a time.

A: Unfortunately, thin leather is not one of the listed materials that the 552 is capable of cutting.

A: The left guide bar can be moved and/or removed. The right guide can be removed too but it would not be recommended. The right guide holds the paper down to ensure a straight and clean cut.

A: Unfortunately no democracy for this one.

Q: 8. Is blade self-sharpening?

A: There is NO blade. It is just a piece of metal and it cuts paper due to its weight. This is not good for cutting canvas - not even a single sheet simply because there is no blade. Even if you were to put your finger and apply pressure - don't worry, you will not bleed because the edge is not sharp either.

Q: 9. are these large enough to cut 120mm film negatives in one cut?

A: Yes. The Dahle 40008 Vantage Scissors (8") can cut 120 film in a single cut.

Q: 10. Can this model cut a SINGLE sheet of 4-ply mat board? I'm hearing mixes responses from actual users online.

[30 x 21 x 7.5"] At last I have found a paper cutter that cuts straight and where you expect it to cut. I have tried several others including the laser guide type and have been extremely disappointed. Before trying the Dahle 533, none of the other cutters would cut parallel or at right angles to the grid guides. The 533 provides an accurately placed cut just where you would expect it to. It's a little heavy to move around but I couldn't be happier with this purchase. 5

[30 x 21 x 7.5"] I used a Tonic guillotine style trimmer but the blades became warped and dull over time. Invested in this Dahle and am extremely pleased by the quality of it. Cuts are sharp and accurate. I sell my crafts and precision is a MUST. 5
