Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. manufacturing date ?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

Q: 2. Are 100 films separated by 25 films?

A: Yes, 4 packs of 25.

Q: 3. Will this work in 4 3/4 x 6 1/2 in film holders?

A: This size of film will have to be cut down to the size you need.

Q: 4. is it 35mm film ?

A: No, this is the 120/medium format version of Ilfordd FP4. You can find the 35mm version here:https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?N=10024661&InitialSearch=yes&sts=suggestions-pi&typedValue=ilford+fp target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?N=10024661&InitialSearch=yes&sts=suggestions-pi&typedValue=ilford+fp/a

Q: 5. Will the film give me a positive or a negative of the image?

A: in normal development it is negative, if you really want a positive you can send it to dr5.

Q: 6. Can I use this for my argus super 75 camera? A blog said j could and I'd like to make sure.

A: Hello! I'm not sure if this will help you. But I have a Holga, and I think the principle will be similar. I've only shot 120 film in my Holga though. I think that is the ideal film format for your Argus Super 75. If you want to run 35mm film though instead, because it's narrower, you should put some sort of buffer on the outer edges, so that the film tracks straight. Otherwise it might track up and down the wider spool, and photos might be less predictable? As far as what that buffer is, you may need to be creative. You could try stacking some rubber washers, you'll likely need to cut one end of the circle to get them around the core of spools. I hope that helps! I'm sorry, I'm no expert on your camera, but I think this should be pretty accurate! Good luck!

Q: 7. Im ONLY 4 days into my Mamiya 645 1000s path, how do I know what films I can use in my camera,or,are all 120 films useable in the camera?

A: All 120 film could be used in the Mamiya 645.

Q: 8. How flat is this film when using a flat bed scanner? Does it had a strong curl?

A: FP4 has a transparent purple base. It does scan well on a flatbed with a rear light element but you will want to white balance the base if scanning in color before printing.

Q: 9. expiry date?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

Q: 10. How to I determine the exposure time?

A: There are several ways to determine the correct exposure. Obviously using a light meter is a good start. It could be a basic hand held incident meter, reflected light meter or even an app on a smart phone. One can also use sunny 16 to determine an approximate exposure. I've also used a digital camera to do a test shot and figure up settings from there. Hope that helps.

[6 x 4.8 x 1.5"] Growing up in a Film dependent world where one had to know what ones film was capable of before Digital, made you realize that the film you used was to be fine tuned to your needs, the Ilford FP4 was an excellent choice and if you are getting started in photography this is an excellent choice, and for those of us old enough to remember Ilford FP4 dust off your old 35mm and load a roll!

[1.1 lb] I have been using ILFORD FP4+ film in all formats since the early 1970s. It matches my personal vision for photographic images and is my first preference. I do occasionally use other films for special circunstances. I always return to FP4+ to express my creative vision. Highly consistent and I make 16x20 prints from all formats.

[6 x 4.8 x 1.5"] Ilford FP4 is an outstanding medium speed film with great resolution and fine grain. I generally pull the speed to 100 ISO and compensate in development times. I tend to use Kodak's HC 110 for bring out contrast in the film.
