Q: 1. I am planning on using this as essentially an 1/8th in. to XLR adapter, then inputting to a console. What is the reason (if there is a reason) to use the LTIBLOX as opposed to using a 1/4 in. cable with an 1/8th in. adapter? Could the LTIBLOX be considered a preamp, or am I misunderstanding its primary / intended function?

A: You can use a 1/4 to 1/8 cable. But, this makes it a whole lot easier. You can easily extend this out 50-100' with an XLR, as opposed to the 6' of 1/4 cable that you would suggest. And, you don't have to worry about losing the adapter. We are a rental house, and own about 25 of these things. Its great for the group that 'just wants to plug their iPhone in for some music.

Q: 2. Can the xlr side be used as input or is it only output?

A: No. The XLR side of the RapcoHorizon LTIBLOX Laptop BLOX 1-Channel Passive Direct Box is an output only

Q: 3. What gage wire is used in each channel line. And what kind of connectors

A: The wire gauge used is 24 gauge. The connectors used are manufactured by Neutrik to Whirlwind specification with longer barrels and durable laser-etched markings.Options include Snakeskin (TM), wire mesh hanger grips, and additional connector configurations.

Q: 4. Does the stated length (10') include the fan length, or is the male-xlr to female-xlr length 14' (assuming each fan is 2')?

A: Yes it includes the connectors total legnth

A: Yes, it is compatible.

Q: 6. I was going to get this and I wondered if it can be plugged into an acer windows 8 computer and also where is the little slot that you plug the side box into?

A: Never used it. I didn't like the way I was suppose to attach ( glue ) to my new computer. Besides I don't use the apps on Windows 8....dumb.

A: Yes. This will work for any system running Windows 98 or newer. It will provide a whole new way to control Flight Simulator.

A: No, it is designed to work with PC only

[0.6 lb] I ordered this after investigating other brands, makes and models. I like that you can set it up in whatever configuration you want- for sitting, standing or anything in between. I am using it to stand at my computer desk with a laptop and find that I can still use the mouse either on the desk or the tray that is provided. My only comment about the tray is that it needs a sturdier attachment to the main tray to stay on better. Other than that I would recommend this. 5

[0.6 lb] Using a windows 8 laptop that is not touchscreen can be frustrating at times. Adding this really handy gadget totally changed my Windows 8 experience and now my laptop is really fun to use!! I definitely recommend this product it was pretty easy to set up and works really nicely. 5

[0.6 lb] I like this laptop tray. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now. The cooling fans are very quiet, it's light and takes the weight of the laptop off of my lap. The side mouse table is also very convenient. The quality appears to be very good. It folds up to a small profile and is light enough for travel. 5

[0.6 lb] Got it very recently for my Windows 8.1 laptop and have only been using it for a few days. Overall my experience has been pretty good. The port on the IR sensor is a mini USB B and there is a slight overhang with the supplied cable since I connect the sensor to a USB on the same side as my laptop. The driver that it came with cannot calibrate this pen at all; I just used the built-in calibration tool. You need to reset the calibration if you want to re-calibrate. The pen is plug-and-play, but you may need to reload any existing browsers to get it working right. I prefer a pretty high resolution, so using the trackpad or trackpoint to move the pointer can be pretty time consuming compared to tapping with the pen. It's also very useful if you don't have enough room to properly use a mouse. Swiping left/right to go back/forward in a web browser is also pretty useful. 5
