Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this Thunderbolt 4 dock compatible with Windows 11?

A: Yes, the OWC Thunderbolt Dock with Thunderbolt 4 Cable is compatible with Windows 11.

Q: 2. Is this dock compatible with 2021 iPad Pro 11" & 12" models for drive mounting? Also, does anyone know if there is card coping or file transfer iOS software? i.e. Shotput pro or hedge for iOS?

A: TheOWC Thunderbolt Dock with Thunderbolt 4 Cable BH #OWTB4DOCK is compatible with both models of the iPad Pro 2021. It can copy from an SD card into your Photos, from there, you can import them to any app that you use to do photo editing.

Q: 3. Can I use one of USB-C ports on back to connect video out to HDMI TV input w/ correct adapter cable?

A: Yes, the OWC Thunderbolt Dock's Thunderbolt 4 ports can be used to connect to a display.

Q: 4. I have a Dell Thunderbolt 3 docking station and ran out of ports on this device. Can I add the OWCTB4DOCK in a daisy chain connection, connecting it to the WD19TB on it's inbound TB3 port? The WD19TB will be directly connected to the PC's TB3 port.

A: Sorry, no, it will not work in a daisy chain. It must be directly connected to the host.

Q: 5. MacBook Pro 16" Needs 96 Watts or it will not charge. Can anyone here comment if they have or know of someone that has been able to charge his MacBook Pro 16" with less then 96 Watts like from this Hub?

A: That may depend on several factors but Apple advises that you always use the correct power adapter to charge your MacBook Pro. From their support page, "You should use the appropriate wattage power adapter for your Mac notebook. You can use a compatible higher wattage power adapter without issue, but it won't make your computer charge faster or operate differently. If you use a power adapter that is lower in wattage than the adapter that came with your Mac, it won't provide enough power to your computer." That noted, you can use a lower wattage adapter (low to a certain point) and it will charge a MacBook Pro but slowly. In this case, the OWC "dock can deliver up to 90W" which is lower than the 96 W needed. Another thing to note is that not all Thunderbolt cables have the same power rating. We carry Thunderbolt cables with 10 W, 60 W, and 100 W ratings so you will need to look for that too.

Q: 6. Is it possible to power & connect a USB-C monitor via one USB-C cable connected to this dock? Specifically, I'm looking to pair this dock with the Dell S2722QC monitor and I am hoping to be able to power and connect the monitor via a single cable plugged into this dock

A: The USB-C port on the OWC Thunderbolt Dock with Thunderbolt 4 Cable BH #OWTB4DOCK is not capable of powering an external monitor.

Q: 7. Buying 2023 iMac M3. Is this a good fit for this computer or do I need to upgrade to another device?

A: That would depend on the type of ports you are looking for and the number of ports you need, but the OWC Thunderbolt Dock with Thunderbolt 4 Cable has a good number/selection of ports, so I think it would be a good fit for your 2023 M3 iMac.

Q: 8. Does the ethernet port work out of the box or does it require a driver installation? And does the driver installation really require disabling SIP (System Integrity Protection) to work?

A: The OWC Thunderbolt Dock with Thunderbolt 4 Cable BH #OWTB4DOCK works out of the box and requires no driver installation. SIP does not need to be disabled.

Q: 9. I just received this Thunderbolt 4 dock, but I really need more USB A ports. What options would you recommend for adding more ports? Could I plugin one of the OWC 14-Port Thunderbolt 3 Docks into this dock?

A: A basic 3 or 4 port USB hub can be daisy chained into the OWC Thunderbolt Dock

Q: 10. Does the dock work on Thunderbolt 3 PCs? Will it also work with non-thunderbolt USB C devices like the iPad Air?

A: This model of dock requires Thunderbolt Version 4, as a minimum.

[< -55 dB] This cable makes super-fast data transfers. I hooked it up to my
Xcellon M2NS USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 M.2 SSD Enclosure and was very impressed with the speeds it provided. This cable and an M.2 drive are a match made in heaven and give blazing speeds. It also rated for 8k or dual 4k monitor support which is fantastic. Another nice plus is it is rated to handle 240w power delivery so it can be used to charge or power most accessories (laptops, peripherals etc.). This cable is definitely future proof and ready for whatever you throw at it, including the ability to daisy chain up to 6 additional devices. It is designed to work with Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3, and USB-C so it is very versatile. The build quality is also fantastic. Cable feels great and is flexible but still sturdy. Connectors seem to be made of quality materials and should last a long, long time. This cable is great. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]

[2x SC] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Belkin Thunderbolt 4 cable exceeded my expectations. It can transfer data to my SSD at speeds up to 40 megabytes per second. It can also be used to transfer video and audio signals to my 4k monitor. Plus to top it all off the cable can charge my laptop at the same time. I would highly recommend this cable to anyone who needs a TB4 cable, the build quality is second to none.

[< -55 dB] I thought there wouldn't be a ton to say about a cable or that a cable wouldn't make much of a difference from other cables that I had but I was wrong.

I swapped out cables from a slightly older cable I was using and the speed difference was noticeable. It's definitely meant for large files and speed. This cable will be married to my smaller drives that travel with me.

I edit a ton of videos and anything that saves me time is always welcomed. I can also use this to power my Xh2s which is a nice bonus.

I may need a few more of these.
