A: When fully open, it is 3/8 betwixt the leg and the swivel clamp. On the swivel clamp is a pad that is appx an 1/8 thick, which cuts the 1/2 down to only 3/8 when fully opened.

A: Yes, it would work with a Samsung S8+.

Q: 6. Can the tilt/pan handle be removed?

A: The handle itself is a screw in implement, and is removable. The panning device attached to the window mount is permanently affixed to the mount and is not remove-able.

Q: 7. Will this holder work with an IPHONE 7+ with an OTTER case? It seems to be just over the 3.3 max

[1.4 lb / 652 g] This is a must have with the slider! Super smooth motion, easy to use. Dont even try using the slider without it. There's really no reason to waste another $500 on the motor unless you're doing timelapses or more complicated shots. 5

[1.4 lb / 652 g] I bought a Rhino slider kit. Big kit with 4ft and 2ft sliders, motor, etc. Everything came and I was impressed, but the sliding was clunky and hard to control. Low and behold, despite buying a very expensive kit which I thought had everything - this key component was missing. The fly wheel gives it that silky smooth slide. Such an important part. Wish it was part of the very expensive package kit I bought. (It really should be). 5

[1.4 lb / 652 g] I've used my Rhino slider with the Motion and Arc motors. It's fantastic, but it can be slow to run and gun with. Weddings don't always give you time to program a new arc move. This flywheel makes SUCH smooth slides that the viewer can't tell it wasn't a robot. I've switched to using this for almost all of my b roll shots (interviews still need the robot). 5

[1.95 lb] Purchased this to help yield a Nikon P1000 on the go from the car. Haven't had a good opportunity to shoot videos with it yet, but have enjoyed use of it taking still photos of a wide variety of birds. 5
