The Porta Brace AR-DR44WL is a carry-case designed to protect and house your Tascam DR-44WL audio recorder when you're recording in the field. The case is both sturdy and portable, thanks to its 1000-denier Cordura nylon construction.

Its interior is fashioned out of a soft mesh fabric that keeps your recorder safe from scratching. A clear vinyl window lets you view the controls. The bag also provides easy access to the Tascam's controls, microphone, and cable I/O. A belt loop is included for attaching the case to your person, while a shoulder strap is available separately.

A: Hello! To help with breaths and pops, I also purchased the Auray Fuzzy Windbuster for Lavalier Microphones additionally for about $20 to help with this and so far works well for my needs.

Q: 2. Which version is this, V1 or V2, or is it just a firmware/software update?

A: There's only one version of this unit, they have a firmware update that can be done once you purchase the unit.

Q: 3. My audio separates every 15 min is there a way to make it be 1 file?

A: This is due to the Track Inc function being turned on. Navigate through the menu to Track Inc and select off, this should fix the issue.

Q: 4. Can I use this mic with the new iPhone 15 which now has USB C? Would I be able to use Apple's usb-c to usb-c cable to connect it

A: Yes, you can use the TASCAM TM-250U Supercardioid USB Type-C Condenser Microphone with Apple's USB-C to USB-C cable to connect to the iPhone 15.

Q: 5. What type of USB-C cable does this need? I've tried a bunch of other USB-C cables and only the one that was included works.

A: You should be able to use a USB cable like the Pearstone USB 2.0 Type-C to USB Type-A Charge & Sync Cable - 6' (B&H # PEUSB3CMAM6) as a replacement for the original USB cable included with the TASCAM TM-250U Supercardioid USB Type-C Condenser Microphone. Be sure to set up your computer's Audio Input and Audio Output preferences so that the audio from the TM-250U is recognized and that you can monitor the audio through the mic's built-in 3.5mm headphone jack.

Q: 8. Why is the sound quality on this WORSE than the internal mic of my Sony A7rIII for distance recordings? I love recorder, but do I need a different mic?

A: The mic that comes with the DR10L is better than the on-board camera mic. It is essentially a copy of a Sennheiser ME2, which is a pretty nice mic. You can upgrade, just make sure that whatever you do upgrade to is wired for Sennheiser (which is the same as this Tascam).

A: Would love to help but crazy as it seems, I have t used it yet.

Q: 10. I set the gain to the highest setting. In your experience what is the best setting when recording vows from weddings?

A: I typically use the medium setting, and then have it in Dual record mode.

[Handle] Like so many others during the pandemic, I had to switch to remote work for my job, and I also started making regular guest appearances on several of my friend's podcasts. I'm not paid on sound quality for this, obviously, but I needed an upgrade, and an all in one USB mic with a headphone amp for $99 fit the bill perfectly, especially with the little desktop stand included. From literally the first sentence I spoke on our daily Zoom call, everyone could tell that I'd made a major microphone upgrade. The sound quality is crystal clear and much more direct, instead of sounding like I'm yelling at a mic across the room, which was the case with my computer's mic even when I was right in front of it. I did my first podcast appearance last night and the response was exactly the same: The guys now want me on there a lot more often, which is a blessing and a curse, to be perfectly honest. I saw another review here about the headphone amp having low volume, but it actually has significantly MORE volume than the one on my computer, so maybe it's a difference in his headphones. The only slight negative that I've found is that you can hear the mute button turn on and off (there's a little click) but after pressing it a bunch of times it seemed to loosen up and the click is now much less noticeable. All in all, this thing is a slam dunk, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to upgrade from their stock computer mic at a reasonable cost. 5

[Yes] I have used Tascam products in the past and have always been very happy. This item is no exception. Very solid build quality, good sound and great price. I am using this as a podium mic, but I could see many uses for it (board room tables, meeting rooms, courtrooms). Fast delivery (one day!) from B&H is icing on the cake. 5

[Handle] I am so happy with this purchase. I’ve been having issues with my wireless mica transmitting without interference. I got this to use as a backup but the sound is so clear i prefer it over my wireless or shotguns. It’s easy to sync up the audio so no reason not to use it. I love that it records two tracks at optional separate levels in case the speaker is too loud. I’ve been a videographer for almost 20 years and can comfortably say this is one of the best audio recorders I’ve used. Very happy with this purchase! 5

[0.2 lb] These are very good! No major complaints. A minor one though... is that the belt clips are WAY TOO TIGHT. We bent ours out with long nose pliers. Other than that we are very satisfied. 5

[Handle] Had to find a quick fix for my old audio setup at weddings and these are PEEEEERRRRRFFFFFFEECCCCCT!! Records dual channel audio and really helps with some of my soft spoken brides. I love it 5
