This 2.0" 3d printer uv resin curing lightfrom 3d printer uv resin curing lightis a dichroic filter that blocks visible (normal) light and allows only UV-A light to pass through for a true "black light" effect. This type of light is often used in fluorescent tubes in entertainment venues. This filter drops into a holder that fits a fixture appropriate to its size. The coating on each side of the glass (double coating) makes it a virtually pure UV source.

Besides entertainment venue use, UV-A emitting sources are used in forensics and other scientific fields, particularly in observing fluorescence – the colored glow that many substances emit when exposed to UV. These filters are often employed for diagnostic and therapeutic uses in medicine to detect substances tagged with fluorescent dyes, for rock-hunting, for detecting counterfeit money, and for curing plastic resins.

[UV Block ] I have logged over 48 hours of print time on this unit since getting it ~1 week ago. I has been in production since I received it and printed exactly as expected. I have had some failed prints which were a result of setting I placed- nothing caused by the machine at all. The only complaint I have/ issue I had is that the replacement filament function tends to cause a jam in the extruder head. So instead of reversing the filament out I'll snip it and manually extrude it through while threading the new filament in after.

Honestly, if anything this has provided way to needing a larger printer with dual extrusion capabilities for new use cases. There is no doubt I will opt for the Taz Pro after truly falling in love with the Mini 2.

In conclusion 11/10 - this is a phenomenal machine and I am really proud to own one.

[UV Block ] This is my second 3d printer. It is a fabulous printer the build size is limiting. The performance and print quality are spectacular. Very quiet also.

[UV Block ] Handled everything I threw at it. Quick startup. Printed in sla and ngen so far. Multiple colors. Swapping filaments took a little experimenting. Found it best if you cut filament at 45 degree angle before attempting to feed new spool into head. Very quiet.

[Circle] This printer has been around a year or so and the firmware updates are great and simple to preform. It is a solid(resin) preformer. Got it on sale and I do not see a better printer for the money. Uses open source software so you are not locked into any eco system. Any issues some have had in the past are fixed with the firmware updates. Mechanicaly sound and quiet. The wifi is a great addition; no usb sticks or cable needed.

[Glass] After spending a great deal of time with the original mini in an educational environment, I decided to order my own mini 2. Great print quality, a breeze to use, and nearly silent operation!

[Circle] It made much easier to print ABS and Nylon. I own a creality and 3 prusa which I use for PLA prototypes, and I was looking for a higher end printer for final parts and dual printing. Definitely the best cost-benefit relation for my needs as it supports many materials. One E3D teflon nozzle is for PLA and the other E3Dnozzle is all metal. Decent printing area. Cloud is useful to manage and monitor prints.

[Circle] I was able to print the rocktopus after calling tech support, as this is my first printer. One disappointing point was that you DO need a computer, just not all the time. The computer is needed for startup, and later for upgrading the machine and several manual controls. Its nice you can print using the SDRAM card, since Windows will reboot at some time during the day if it needs to, even if you are half way through a print. I also need to get a UPS to protect the machine during a print. Very good tech support, but I wish they had let a noob use the guide to clarify steps the builders know so well they dont write it down. Still, it is working, its very quiet and I made a model!

Check out Autodesks Meshmixer, a free program for 3D printers that helped me a lot.

[Circle] Wow, what a difference in printing quality compared to the Lulzbot TAZ-6. It has network connectivity, USB support and an awesome case that makes printing ABS filament a breeze, at a very affordable price. Dremel is still supported, and for this reason, I decided to go with this ultra-reliable printer.
