Offering lower noise, higher sensitivity, and more adjustable settings than the VideoMic, the rode videomic go camera mount shotgun microphonecamera-mount shotgun microphone is ideal for mobile journalists, vloggers, budget filmmakers, and run-and-gun shooters looking for a cost-effective way to step up to the next level in quality.

A single 9V battery provides up to 70 hours of run time and an LED turns red to indicate low-battery status. Adjustable gain and a selectable bass roll-off make it easy to optimize the level and tone of your recording for a range of scenarios.

This compact and lightweight shotgun microphone features an integrated shockmount that mounts directly to your camera or boompole and reduces noise from various vibrations. The windscreen design reduces wind noise, making it well suited for outdoor shoots. The attached 3.5mm TRS cable ensures easy hookup to your camera, and the dual-mono output means that no channel selection is necessary on your recording device.

Whereas most built-in camera microphones pick up sound from all directions, this microphone utilizes a supercardioid polar pattern to focus on sound in front of it while attenuating sound from the sides and rear. Its low-noise electronics and sensitive condenser element deliver more detailed audio than the mics typically found in cameras and portable recorders.

A straight 3.5mm cable is permanently attached to the mic for fast hookup to your camera. The cable's 3.5mm TRS plug is wired in a dual-mono configuration, ensuring that the mic signal is sent identically to both input channels of your camera or portable recorder.

Pop a 9V battery in the VideoMic Pro for up to 70 hours of operating time. The dedicated power LED changes from green to red when the battery should be replaced. The VideoMic Pro can still function for approximately 10 hours once the power indicator turns red, but performance will be compromised. Use the power switch to conserve battery life during periods of inactivity.

The high-pass filter can be set to flat or 80 Hz to roll off low-frequency noise from common sources such as air conditioners and traffic.

To enable optimal recording levels, the VideoMic Pro boasts a 3-stage gain control. Like the low roll-off and high-frequency boost, the gain control is digitally switched for precision and convenience. The +20 dB setting is ideal when recording to cameras, as it boosts the signal without requiring extreme gain on the camera's inferior preamp. Select the flat setting when routing the mic into a dedicated high-quality preamp, or switch to the -10 dB option when loud sound sources threaten to distort your recording.

Understanding that the rubber bands used in many shockmounts can snap and stretch, Rode chose to integrate a rugged Rycote Lyre suspension-style shockmount. This simplifies setup of the mic and inhibits the transfer of vibrations from the camera. Plus, the bottom of the shockmount features a camera shoe mount with a 3/8" thread, ensuring easy attachment to your camera or a boompole such as Rode's Micro Boompole (available separately).

The VideoMic Pro has a foam windscreen to reduce unwanted wind noise from breezes, fans, heaters, and air conditioners. For maximum reduction of wind noise in outdoor environments, consider a furry windshield such as the Rode DeadCat VMPR (available separately).

Expand the microphone's device compatibility with Rode accessories such as the SC4 and VXLR (both available separately). The SC4 is a short cable that lets you connect the VideoMic Pro directly to a smartphone or tablet equipped with a 3.5mm TRRS jack. The VXLR adapter is the ideal solution when you want to record the VideoMic Pro to a camcorder or mixer that has XLR inputs.

Q: 6. There are a couple different combos for rode mic pro. Which is the one people usually get? I want to use this with my eos r6 so I assume the minimum would be mic and camera mount?

Q: 7. How do I mount this to a BMPCC4K? I purchased a ProMediaGear 1/4"-20 Screw to Cold Shoe Adapter but it does not slide in still.

[Black] This is a great microphone! I got lucky enough to also get it with the boom pole. Attached nicely to my dslr rig, and the cable cord sits tight and never gets in front of the lenses

[Black] I use this mic to film music and live performances and I've had great success with it. At high levels there may be a tiny bit of distortion but nothing bad in my opinion. Great little mic and great performance for the price and anyone on a budget.

[End Address] I got the booming kit and it works very well. The mic is very directional so it doesn't pick up any surrounding sound. When boomed, you can clearly hear dialogue which is great. I compared it to the Canon DM-50 and found that it is best to have the mic off of the camera. The DM-50 requires to be on the shoe mount of my Canon HV20. The Rode Mic seems to be a little bassy but I think that can be fixed. Otherwise amazing mic!

[9 V] I bought this mic for my Canon 60D to shoot video oversee. It is very light and easy to use. Sound quality is great for this price range. One thing you might want to consider when you are using this mic is to get adapter or something to monitor the sound level. I know it's not a simple task to monitor audio on DSLR but it will save you from dealing with clipping during your edit. I must say its construction (plastic) is a bit flimsy and you might want to be careful when you handle it.
