Designed for the Canon 7D Mark II, the BG-C12 Battery Grip from Vello holds one or two LP-E6 batteries, effectively doubling your camera's shooting time. The grip also comes with a tray to hold six AA batteries (rechargeable batteries recommended).

The BG-C12 adds comfort and stability when shooting in the portrait orientation, and it provides an alternate shutter button, AF start, AF point selection, AE lock/FE lock, and multi-function buttons. A multi-controller and a main dial are also located on the grip, adding convenience when shooting vertically. It is designed with an anti-slip rubber grip and firm curvature to further improve handling. The grip screws into the camera's tripod mount, and it has another tripod mount on its bottom for attaching to a camera support.

A control-lock switch can deactivate all of the grip's controls when they aren't needed.

A metal mount allows you to attach a camera strap to the BG-C12.

The BG-C12 is compatible with the Canon ACK-E6 AC Adapter Kit, allowing the camera to be powered for long periods of time as needed when shooting star trails or time-lapse photography.

A: No. The camera cannot power the flash. There are external battery supplies which can power this flash, if the internal AA replaceable batteries are not sufficient.

A: No. This is just to 6d mark II

Q: 5. Was wondering if anybody uses this grip with an arca-swiss type plate and tripod? Does it feel solid?

A: Yes, we have. We purchased the Acratech plate for this grip and it is rock solid. We did call Acratech 1-909-392-7522 before purchasing to be sure we had the correct plate. They were great on the phone and I received the correct plate so fast.... Fabulous! and super rock solid!

A: No idea because Ive never handled the Canon version. But this grip is doing all it is supposed to. And for the price I dont see how you could ever regret buying it.

A: The grip does not come with batteries.

A: It also has the lever, but the lever is offset from the joystick, so is slightly different from the camera in look and location, but has the same function.

[0.9 lb] I have been wanting to get a battery grip for sometime now. I just got it and installed it right away, put a couple batteries in and gave it a test. This is just what I needed because it makes shooting verticals so much easier. It functions just as it should and I have no complaints so far. It is also much less than camera brand. 5
