Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the thread pitch of the 43mm threads?

A: The thread pitch is not listed for this adapter. However it will allow you to use 52mm Filters on a 43mm Lens.

Q: 2. Hi ... What is the difference between the Heliopan #143 62/77mm Step-Up Ring, and the Heliopan #144 62/77mm Step-Up Ring??? The descriptions do not say ... other than price, of course. ...Robert G.

A: The Heliopan ring, # 700-144 is a special model that can accept both 77mm threaded filters, as well as Series 8.5 type filters. Our product link for this model on our website is slowly being changed to reflect the new information we received about it since receiving your inquiry.

Q: 3. Will this step up ring work with a Leica Noctilux 50mm 0.95 lens?

A: The Heliopan 60-77mm Step-Up Ring (#644) (B&H# HESUR6077) will fit the 60mm filter thread of the Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH. Lens (Black) (B&H# LE50095NB). As such, you'll be able to add 77mm filters to that lens.

Q: 4. Am planning to do these 1. step up from 37-52mm and then 2. step up from 52-67mm 3. Mount a 67mm CPL filter Will I be introducing vignetting in this setup? Appreciate all comments. Thanks in advance.

A: Depends on the lens you're using. But its likely you wouldn't get any vignetting from the filter due to the filter being so much bigger than the lens diameter. A random suggestion I think would help to simplify the process, consider looking into this step up ring. It's from 37-67mm all in one. So you wouldn't need to stack step-ups. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1355342-REG/benro_dr6737_67_37mm_step_down_ring.html?sts=pi&pim=Y

Q: 5. Would this ring permit the use of 55mm threaded filters on a lens with a Series VII filter-thread? The Leica R 90mm f2 (old version, not the later version) is the lens I have in mind.

A: No, that adapter is for lenses that have a 54mm thread. Series 7 is not 54. If you have a retaining ring, most of those are 54 mm it might work. But the adapter alone will not work. This is a retaining ring, General Brand Series 7 Retaining Ring BH #GBRRS7 https://bhpho.to/3bJHVPU

Q: 6. I have a Nikon Z50 and wish to go from a Nikkor DX 16-50 3.5-6.3 to a Nikkor DX 50-250/4.5-6.3 would the Heliopan 700177 be compatable with the threads on the lens. In the future I'll be purchasing a better set of filters what is the thread type on this step up adapter?

A: You can use the Heliopan 46-62mm Step-Up Ring (#177) on the Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR Lens (Black). With that you will than be able to use the same filters as the ones on the Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR Lens.

Q: 7. Looking to use this on my sigma 18-35 f1.8. With a filter on it, will there be vignetting?

A: You could use the Heliopan 72-77mm Step-Up Ring (#141) on the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens. You will not get vignetting but you will not be able to use the lens hood.

Q: 8. Will the 54mm end fit a lens with series VII (Series 7) threads? I believe they are 54.3mm (2 1/8 inches).

A: unfortunately this will not.

Q: 9. Does this fit onto Leica Elmarit-R lens with series VII filter thread?

A: Apparently there are two versions of this lens. Series VII retaining ring should be 54mm so this step ring should get you to a 55mm filter size.

Q: 10. I need to mount a 62mm filter on a 72mm lens, do I need a step up ring or a step down ring?

A: You would need a 62mm to 72mm step down ring.

[Brass] Good quality, you dont need more. I use it for Canon 50 mm f1.8 lens, so I can use the polarized filter as well as the Cokin adaptersI already have, saving space and $$

[27 mm to 46 mm] Nothing fancy here, but it does what it's supposed to. The Hoya Pro-1 Super HMC's thread is aluminum also. So what's the point of spending 3 times this amount of money on an expensive steel ring?

[3 x 2.3 x 0.6"] Does the trick and works well. Works great to use your larger filters on a smaller lens.
