This model is equipped with a current feedback amplifier section that uses the same push-pull circuit found in Marantz's SM-11S1 Hi-Fi power amplifier. This amp is designed to provide increased operating stability, and high-speed, wide-ranging, high-density playback. The current/voltage conversion amplification section in the latter part of the power amp is equipped with a Wilson current mirror circuit that amplifies to the high sound range with low distortion.

The final stage of the power amp is equipped with the same LAPT (high-efficiency power transistor) that is installed in the SM-11S1 Marantz Hi-Fi power amp, providing improved instant power supply capability. The power section is equipped with a large-sized transformer. As one of the essential parts of the power section, this unit is equipped with a notable Marantz 15,000 μF / 71 V×2 block condenser. These improvements to the power supply are engineered to provide a powerful and presence-filled sound.

This amplifier is equipped with a chimney-shaped heat sink to efficiently process the heat emitted from each channel along with quiet cooling fans. A high-sensitivity temperature sensor IC is used to control the cooling fans, adjusting the rotation speed to match the amount of heat generated by the amp.

For installation flexibility and maximum compatibility, each channel on this amplifier is equipped with balanced and unbalanced inputs.

This amplifier has an IR flash input that supports custom installations and DC trigger input and output terminals.

When a Marantz AV pre-amplifier/process such as the AV8003 or AV7005 is connected to this unit, this amplifier's power can be switched On/Off together with the pre-amplifier's power supply. This connection is designed to reduce sonic interface as much as possible.

  • Marantz reference-grade filter capacitors and high-speed output transistors
  • Gold-plated, high-grade loudspeaker terminals
  • Flasher input, DC trigger input/output, and RC-5 remote control connectivity
  • Detachable power cord (IEC320 2-pin type)
  • Porthole display with blue illumination accent
  • High instantaneous peak current design
  • Low impedance continuous drive capability

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If your running a mono left and mono right output to the left and right inputs in the headphone amp, why in the world would I need to use TRS cables instead of regular 1/4 TS cables? I almost bought this until I saw the requirement of TRS cables. I've got plenty on hand but this doesn't make any sense to me. Even my mixer monitor outputs are regualar 1/4 left and right.

Q: 2. is it possible for a battery to run this unit?

A: Unfortunately no. It must have DC power.

Q: 3. It can be run also with DC?

A: P.S. Here is what is printed on a U.S. power adapter:BEHRINGERITE POWER SUPPLYMODEL: U090075AITEM NO: PSU-MINI-UL-01INPUT: 120 V AC 60 Hz 0.15AOUTPUT: 9 V AC 750 mA

Q: 4. Can I use it for Live Church Service?I want to take the Line Out of my Church Amp and get 4 Outputs to put 4 Powered Speakers around the Hall.

A: yes you can do that. Remember, all cables are 1/4 inch.

Q: 5. If I get the correct cables could I send the signal from a crosley turntable to this, then to a receiver? The ol' yamaha is running down at -18db to be able to hear the records at a decent volume from the passive speakers it's driving... I need it amped up a bit before it gets there methinks.

A: I can't answer from knowledge of the specific turntable, but every phono I've ever known for the past 40 years requires a phono preamp for two reasons. 1) The signal level is way, way too low for directly connecting to a headphone amp or any line-level device. 2) Most importantly phonographs are all recorded with a very treble-skewed EQ according to the standard RIAI curve, a phono preamp is designed to nullify that curve by being exactly opposite towards a heavy bass response. In short, there is no substitute for a phono preamp. Make sure it is labeled and defined as phono preamp.

Q: 6. Does the power adapter can be plugged to a 220V outlet?

A: No. 110

Q: 7. can i connect this directly to headphone out of my mixer? or there's a better way to connection? thanks

A: Yes you connect it but you have to use the right cable .

Q: 8. Are these good for audio technica m40x headphones?

A: Yes the Audio-Technica ATH-M40x Headphones would work well with the Pyle Pro PHA40 Headphone Amplifier.

Q: 9. When connecting two different input sound sources. Can they be mixed to one output? Can you then keep the one input sound going to one out put channel? And the other input channel go to another single out put channel?

A: The Behringer AMP800 features an A and B input. Each headphone output is only able to select a single input source at a time ( A or B). Both can not be combined in this unit.

Q: 10. Are these good for podcasting?

A: Hi, Thank you for reaching out. Great for podcasting using more then one set of headphones or to send out audio out to other equipment.

[2.0] I own a great semi pro studio, and installed this amp last week. It sounds great. Drives 6 sets of headphones without any problems. The aux ins on each channel take care of any more me mixes. Do yourself a favor...get one.

[120 VAC, 60 Hz] The Pearstone HBOX-4000 headphone amplifier is an excellent choice for home recording, where it is useful for multiple people to monitor the signal from a digital audio workstation. In my case, I'm using a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface, which provides one direct-monitor headphone output. The level of the Scarlett's output is too low to be useful. The Pearstone allows me to both split the signal into my headphones and the performer's, as well as raise the level so that it matches the tracks being monitored from the software. In all, this is a very inexpensive solution to a vexing problem. Considering the price, quality, and usefulness of this headphone amp, it is really a no brainer to pick one up, if you're looking to improve the performance and convenience of your home recording workstation.

[120 VAC, 60 Hz] I was using the Behringer PowerPlay Pro 4 channel headphone amp but it had a hum in it. Even lifting the ground did't help. I had used Art equipment before and was very pleased with their quality and price so I bought the rackmount HeadAmp6. It is extremely quiet. This is a great amp.
