A: Yes. The biggest problem I have is in transferring large files (i.e., 4GB) between platforms. That's not the drive's fault, though, that's a problem with different software drive formats. You have to format the drive for the kind of system you want to use it with. If you're exclusively using it on Macs, it's way simpler, but if you want to transfer 4GB files between Mac and PC, then you have to make sure that you format the drive appropriately (and I must admit I don't remember the name of the most appropriate file format for such things, I have to look it up each time I have to do it, which isn't often).

A: Recovery software might be able to recover a deleted file in some cases. If a drive fails you will not be able to recover it. USB sticks are not long term or high reliability storage they are meant for moving information from one system to another.
