The black AC299 12" 2-Way Full-Range Passive Loudspeaker System from JBL features one 12" low frequency driver and one 1” exit/1.5” voice-coil compression driver. The horn provides 90 x 90° coverage in vertical and horizontal orientation. High-slope passive crossovers minimize band overlap and offer well-controlled off-axis response. The cabinet is fitted with M10 threaded suspension points. Four threaded inserts located on back of the enclosure allow attachment of a MultiMount or similar type of mounting hardware.

A: You will connect it you your computers 3.5mm audio out jack to the ESIs 3.5mm audio input connector.

A: Yes, the JBL Control 16C/T 2-Way 6.5" Coaxial Ceiling Loudspeakers can be mounted in a drop ceiling. This is their intended use and they will sound just fine.

A: You can use it for any passive speakers, meaning that you can not pass power through the controller.

Q: 4. what mounting hardware would you use?

A: These are bookshelf speakers. I really wouldn't bother to mount them, you will probably loose a lot of low end. The best way to mount them would be a simple shelf.

Q: 5. What is the best way to connect this with my iMac as the input?

A: In order to get audio from an iMac to this speaker controller, you would either come out of the 3.5mm headphone/speaker output of the computer, or use it in conjunction with an audio interface, which would be connected to the computer via Thunberbolt or USB..

A: There are no controls to turn off the LEDs on the Palmer Monicon L controller.

[80 Hz to 18 kHz] I'm writing this review to cancel out a previous negative review I wrote about this bundle. B&H customer support went out of their way to solve my issue with this and I would highly recommend further purchases from them in the future. I received this pack free as a promotion for an I7 processor and was actually supposed to get a different pack (intel creative software bundle). I wanted the first pack and was pretty disappointed to have received this instead so I wrote a poor review with 1 star. However a member of B&H's customer service team reached out and corrected the mistake for me. This review is more for their awesome customer support rather than this bundle. I would personally give this maybe 3 or 4 stars but that's only because the games in this bundle aren't interesting to me (i.e. Final fantasy, zen pinball). 5

[80 Hz to 18 kHz] I use these as the left and right front in my 7.1 home theater. Center front is two Control Ones in a series, and the rest are single Control Ones. Subwoofer is 15' 750 watt JBL. I replaced the Control Fives because after years of abuse the LF driver surrounds gave up. There is an LED that lights when the speakers are overdriven.I ignored it. Good professional studio monitor speakers. You will need mounts, and they ate pricey. 5

[80 Hz to 18 kHz] I previously purchased the Hercules DJ Monitor 42 speakers and was quite impressed by their sound and quality. I wanted a little more power even though they are both 80 watts but the Hercules Monitor 5 has a separate amp in each speaker while the Monitor 42's have one amp supplying both speakers. They sound great, the bass rolls, the mids are excellent and the high's are clear. Much recommended for studios and what I use it for is my laptop to hear music and games. 5
