A: I don't see a firmware yet available for that lens in Sigma's website. The Sigma 70mm for E mount does list a firmware update and here are the instructions which will give you an idea of how it would work if there is an update available for the 105mm in the future. https://bit.ly/2PGHOea

A: The Sigma 105mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF, B&H # SI10514C, has 105mm filter threads and uses 105mm filters.

Q: 8. Is there a good teleconverter option for this lens?

A: Sorry, there is no known teleconverter for this lens. For the two converters they make, Sigma lists three lenses: Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports Lens, Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports Lens, and Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary Lens. 100mm lenses generally are poor candidates for teleconverters. They are too short and often the rear lens elements could contact the teleconverter lens elements. Lenses with 300mm or more with f/4 or faster aperture are good candidates.

Q: 9. Can I use this lens to control Aperture from the body with a Blackmagic Ursa 4k (the big one) and Panasonic Varicam LT?

A: If the cameras you are using have an active EF mount they will be able to control the aperture on this lens.

[Front] The last thing you want to lose and have to buy. Sucker is expensive & there really aren't any alternates out there. Sure it's made well and covers an oddball lens diameter size but man, ouch. Sigma is really sticking it to you at this price. It should cost 50 bucks. This amazing lens is still somehow worth replacing it's hood. 5

[105 mm] Great lense, well built, sharp out out of the box!!! Superb ratio of quality and price. I don't find this lens heavy - works for me, it's not lightweight piece of glass of course, but for me it's perfect balance. autofocus works great on Canon R5 and Canon 5D Mark IV. Lense have enough speed to track eye even on fast moving dogs. B&H as always doing great job and fast delivery! 5

[Snap-On] This lens is FANTASTIC - the image quality is as good as my Canon 300mm f2.8! (even with the Sigma 105mm lens protector) 5

[Front] Despite the obvious size and weight issue, this lens is special it is rendering and sharpness. Fantastic for portraits, and even as a landscape lens (if you don't mind the heft). Large size also makes for expensive filters. The tripod foot is great and when you take it off for hand held, Sigma provides a comfortable rubberized ring to slide over the notch left when the tripod foot is removed. The case that comes with the lens is top notch. Beautiful Bokeh as advertised and fast focusing too. Hard to fault it optically. 5

[Snap-On] This is my only lens as of now and I love it. It is heavy like other people will mention but the build quality is top level. Takes photos very sharp and I can’t be happier. 5

[Snap-On] It's a large heavy lens but the image quality stands for itself. It's wildly sharp and the DOF is what I expected and wanted. If you know what you are getting, you will love this lens. If you pick this up on a whim, you might not be happy as it's not super versatile because of its size and weight. 5

[105 mm] The lens hood for the Sigma 105mm f1.4 ART is a must. A frontal element so big needs protection from not only unwanted light that may cause flares and contrast decrease, but also protection from anything touching it when the cap is off. This lens hood helps for both. Its not cheap, but quality is impeccable. 5
