Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the 200 F/2.0 VRll Sharper than this lens

A: Both the Nikon 300mm f/2.8 and 200mm f/2.0 are incredibly sharp lenses.

Q: 2. What are the differences between version VR I and version VR II of this lens?

A: The NIKKOR 300mm f/2.8G ED VR II lens has one stop more of VR stabilization than the previous VR I, and the M/A autofocus mode was added.

Q: 3. What material is this lens hood made from plastic or carbon fiber?

A: The Sigma Lens Hood for 120-300mm f/2.8 Sport Digital OS HSM Lens is manufactured from aluminum metal.

Q: 4. Is there filter holder that I can attach to the front of the lens that would hold a Lee 150 x 150mm Solar filter? I want to use the lens to photograph the up coming eclipse.

A: Unfortunately no, we do not carry any filter holder systems for this lens. You would have to hold the solar filter in front of the lens while shooting it, or attach it yourself using your own methods.

Q: 5. I have the original 120-300 2.8 lens - I don't have the newest Sport version. Will this hood fit?

A: No, that hood is for the new 120-300 mm lens. There are a few versions in between as well. The only other one we carry is below and it is for the 120-300mm F2.8 EX DG OS APO HSM not sport model.

Q: 6. Hi, will this fit the 200mm F2 lens?

A: The lens has a 5.04" diameter front. The cap is 5" so chances are it will work.

Q: 7. Will this Cap fit the 300 2.8L VI? Hood reversed stored in the hard case. Not talking about the 77MM lens.

A: Yes, the Canon E-145C Lens Cap will fit the EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II lens.

Q: 8. Does it come withe the original box and all the other stuff ?

A: Refurbished products come with everything the original is intended to come with. However the box may be different.

Q: 9. I own the 300 f/4 PF but sometimes wish I had the extra stop from a 2.8 lens. Is this lens worth the price for the extra stop? I understand it’s built to pro standards but aside from that is it worth it to sell the PF and get this 12-year old lens?

A: Getting the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/4E PF ED VR Lens would be worth the cost based on its smaller barrel and electromagnetic diaphragm for faster response when shooting continuous frames, despite the maximum aperture of f/4. The right choice really comes down to what features are most important to you.

Q: 10. Is this for the newest Sigma sport version or the version released prior to 2013?

A: The LensCoat Lens Cover for Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports is for the version that's now discontinued.

[0.665 lb] Lens used for bird photography; swans, eagles, and herons in flight. The lens replaced 70-300 and the lens is faster (f2.8-3.5) much quicker to focus with sharper/clearer results. The included tripod collar is very usefull & helps balance camera /lens combination which helps with good results.

[0.665 lb] For everybody, a 35mm is pretty much basic camera stuff, but this little macro 35mm is a beauty! The focus is super sharp, provides decent lighting, is super light and really cheap!! What else could you want! Oh and solid build as well.

[0.665 lb] I've lived the past five years with gaffer tape holding my lens cap on after taking a hit on the sidelines of a football game. Finally broke down and got a replacement lens cap for the Sigma 120-300mm. 3 it.

[0.665 lb] Have used kit lense with both E510 &E30. The 12/60 is a world of difference and worth the $$$.. Photos are very sharp even at 14x magnification on the camera LCD screen. The photos pop out when viewed on computer screen. Great for nature shots in local Plant Conservatory. Hoping to try it at the local aviary and later this year at the zoo. This is now my primary lense. Although heavier than the kit lense, the excellant photos are what you desire and pay for. Looking forward to buying another SWD lense!!

[0.665 lb] I purchased a used/condition (9) lens, at an affordable price vs new. The lens body was almost flawless.
However the hood is not. It appears that the hood was used to support the lens while on the ground.
Not OK,for my taste with quality equipment.
Also I will have a replacement hood for the jungle if needed. Excellent lens...

[0.665 lb] used the e500 kit lens for a few years, and was not very happy. this lens re-establishes my faith in the 4:3 system. this is a nice high grade lens that delivers on it's promises... if you do a lot of lower light, indoors, action photography, etc. this is a dynamite lens.

[0.665 lb] Product does what it's advertised to do and does it well. Clear, crisp close up photos are what I bought the lens for and it delivered! I took a close up shot of a tomato with two flies on it and every detail on the flies were crystal clear! My only suggestion would be some type of manual regarding the camera settings and other useful info with this lens. I'm a beginner at photography so I'm still trying to figure out how to optimize this lens and some helpful hints would have been nice.
