Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are the Polsen headphones included in the complete pack any good?

A: They will sound clean and are a very good option for that price point with the kit

Q: 2. Will this fit on the Shure SM7B? What's the inside diameter of the clamp while it is tightened?

A: The On-Stage Pop Blocker for Rode PodMic Microphone (Version 2), B&H # ONPBPMJBHV2, will not fit a Shure SM7B microphone. Use the recommended ISOVOX ISOPOP BroadCast Pop Filter for Broadcast Microphones (Midnight Black), B&H # ISOPOPB.

Q: 3. Does this kit now include a tripod extension?

A: No, it does not.

Q: 4. would this work with the blue yeti mic and stand? if not any suggestions on a small pop screen that will work with it?

A: The On-Stage Pop Blocker is not compatible with the Blue Yeti. You would want to use something more like the Auray PFMU-12 to be able to do that.

Q: 5. In the video describes the product including the tripod stand, but not in the box description. Is the tripod stand included? Thanks.

A: The Samson Q2U bundle will include the HP20 studio headphones, desktop tripod stand, mic clip, USB cable and XLR cable.

Q: 6. How long is the cable?

A: 16.5 inches

Q: 7. Is it compatibile with the rode procaster?

A: The On-Stage Pop Blocker for Rode PodMic Microphone (Version 2) is specified for use with the Rode Podmic and will likely not function with the Rode Procaster microphone in the same manner.

Q: 8. if im doing interview type podcasts, will i need 2 of these mics?

A: Yes. Miking each participant would be the best practice and yield the best results.

Q: 9. I've read that 'dynamic' mics work best when the sound source (voice or instrument) is close to the mic -- say six-eigth inches for example; but their sound pickup range falls off quickly as you move much further away from the mic (which has the advantage of reducing background noise). Is this true for this mic?

A: That is true for dynamic mics in general. Some dynamic mics are more sensitive than others. This one in particular requires the source of sound to be just a few inches away. Probably closer to around 3-4 inches or so. The polar pattern also will determine how far off axis the source of the sound can be until the sound drops out. This Samson Q2U is a cardioid pickup pattern which is about 120 degrees around.

Q: 10. Does this microphone require phantom power or batteries?

A: This is a dynaminc microphone and requires no phantom power or batteries. When using it as a USB mic it will receive bus power.

[Download] I have been using this pop blocker with my PodMic for several months by now. It has done a great job and has a very stylish look. Im uploading a picture for you to see. I do Live Broadcast on YouTube almost every day, if you want to see it on the screen, you can visit my YouTube channel 23yFlagler. Its in Spanish, so do not expect to understand much, but pay attention on how the Pop Blocker looks. Hope it helps.

[Download] Everywhere I looked for advice while I was preparing to start my podcast recommended this microphone as the best entry level value. It is amazing. The sponge wind screen is enough to block my plosives.

[1 User] Added a shock mount and I was done. Headphones are good. My other two headphones are now collecting dust. Going to grab another cable so I can keep one on my mic boom and use the other for remote recordings. Using USB now but looking at Audio Interface for XLR connectivity.

[1 User] I bought this for my Sontronics podcaster Pro mic It fits on it just fine you just can't close the clip but it fits so snug without closing the clip you really do t need too I noticed that the Sontronics Mikes don't have many pump filters for except the ones you would clamp to an arm or not and even though it does have a built-in pump filter it doesn't really work all the time

[Download] Did a lot of research on budget friendly mics and the Samson Q2U was always on the top of the list. Simple, user friendly, quality audio, easy connection to mobile, computer or audio recorder, and great price. Money well spent. Purchased two and plan on purchasing two more. Highly recommend this product.

[Download] This is my second Samson Q2U, purchased from B&H--now I have one for my home office, and one for my travel bag. Great audio quality for voice recording--I use it on my podcast every week. If you're starting a podcast, buy this instead of a Blue Yeti--you'll be happy you did!
