The Audio-Technica AT8124F is a fuzzy windscreen. It's intended for use with AT8024 shotgun microphones. The windscreen can reduce the noise of zephyrs, breezes, gales, and other wind-based phenomena in outdoor shoots. It also can reduce vocal plosives.

Q: 1. Does anyone know if anywhere there is a list of Audio-Technica microphone model numbers vs. case styles? This windscreen fits S8 and T2 case styles; that's nice, but I don't know my microphones' case styles, just their model numbers.

A: If you search the Audio Technica site for a specific microphone, under specs you will see the case style of the microphone. Don't know why B&H does not show this under their specs tab for Audio Technica mics.

A: The Audio-Technica Shockmount for AT2020, AT2020USB+, AT2035, and AT2050 Microphones is designed specifically for the AT2020, AT2020USB+, AT2035, and AT2050 microphones. For a universal option, BH #RYINVUSM would be a better choice.

A: No, the Audio-Technica AT8124F Fuzzy Windscreen is not compatible for use with the Audio-Technica AT8035 Long Shotgun Microphone. The AT8124F is intended for use with the AT8024 Camera-Mount Microphone, which has a diameter of 24mm and it's 6.8" long. The AT8035 has a diameter of 21mm and it is 14.5" long. The AT8124F is too wide and too short for the AT8035. For a compatible furry windshield, you can use the Rycote Standard Hole Classic Softie Wind-Screen - 9.4" Long, 19 to 22 mm Diameter Hole, Gray (B&H # RYS24M).

Q: 6. Can someone please share the dimensions for this windscreen? I have a Sony ECM-MS907 mic windscreen (approx 2.25 long x 1.25 wide) that I am trying to replace. Thanks!!

A: The AT8159 is designed to fit mics that have a 21mm (.83 ) diameter. Interior depth unfortunately is not specified, however the case styles it is designed for do not require a depth over 2 .

Q: 9. Does this fit a HMD 280-13 microphone?

A: As you know the Aurray is a diameter. The original part number from Sennheiser is 083411 which I was unable to locate on our site nor was I able to get the dimensions from Sennehiser. I think the Aurray should work. If you are in doubt you can order it right from Sennheiser.

A: Yes, the AT8116 is the compatible windscreen for use with Audio-Technica's AT831R lavalier.

[Foam] As a GH4 shooter, I don't know how I did without this. It's so easy to use and if the sound gets too loud there is a switch to pad the volume down two levels. With the GH4 I shoot with the camera audio set as low as it goes and with loud sound I'm still peaking. With the Audio-Technica switch I'm not peaking. And the shotgun setting is fairly decent. I also have the Zoom H6 which works great too, but it's very cumbersome for run-n-gun shooting. I am glad the B&H salesman suggested this unit. Thanks B&H. 5

[Foam] I read reviews of many mics before settling on this audio-technica and was a bit apprehensive about the sound quality. It goes without saying that any external mic sounds better than an in-camera mic, but still, I was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality. I use it in combination with a Sony a6500 and I find the sound sufficiently rich with good rendition of bass and overall quality. I could compare it with an audio -technica shotgun AT835B and with a RODE SVM mic and found it of near similar quality. The sound is richer than that of a zoom H1 going through the camera. I am pleased overall, but I am an amateur/semi-pro videographer and did not do any technical comparisons. 5

[0.265 lb] I very much enjoy this mic! I am very pleased with the audio I recorded using this mic so far! I like how easy it is to use right out of the box. The addition of a wind screen with purchase is much appreciated. I was very surprised by the range at which I was able to record. I was able to record a raven calling above some aspen trees! [0.265 lb] My only issue is that with my R-10, the plug prevents being able to flip the rear LCD screen, but that isn't a big problem. I use it to record piano and string music mostly, and it works well. I find that using the -10 dB filter improves the sound quality. 5

[0.265 lb] We shoot videos about menswear trends and style tips, we had a rode but it wasn't the right application, this is same size and 3x video. B&H staff we're super helpful in finding it and right on point per usual. 5
