Designed to better enable nighttime viewing of nebulae through telescopes featuring a 2"-diameter eyepiece, the Explore Scientific 2" UHC Nebula Filterfrom Explore Scientific 2" UHC Nebula Filterincreases viewing contrast by blocking a majority of the wavelengths of light pollution in order to gain increased detail. This filter passes the H-Alpha and H-Beta emission lines at 486nm and 656nm, as well as oxygen emission lines at 496nm and 501nm, in order to brighten nebulae while darkening the sky background for increased contrast and subject definition. Compared to unfiltered observation, this UHC filter offers clear visibility of the Owl Nebula M97, Veil Nebula NGC6992, and even the Dumbbell Nebula M27 when observing under typical terrestrial lighting.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are the slow motion controls continuous, or do they have limited travel?

A: The Explore Scientific Twilight I Alt-Azimuth Mount with Tripod do not have a limit until they reach the end points which is quite far. However, since you would be using your wrists to turn the controls your wrists will reach a limit long before the Twilight 1 does.

Q: 2. Will this work with an Evostar 72 APO refractor?

A: Yes, the Explore Scientific Field Flattener for f/5 to f/7 Refractors is compatible with the Sky-Watcher Evostar ED APO 72mm f/5.8 Refractor.

Q: 3. Can a step motor be added to this mount to motorize it...???

A: None can be added to this mount.

Q: 4. The slow motion cables are in the way of the locking levers! Any suggestion to fix that problem? Other, shorter and compatible lever locks?

A: I do not show any other motion cables available for this unit. You may want to contact Explore Scientific Tel: (866)252.3811 Website http://explorescientificusa.com/

Q: 5. I have a celestron SE8, and would like to know if this would be a good choice for deep space viewing, and what accessories I would need to make this work?

A: Sure, you would need to upgrade into this Celestron 90-Degree Mirror Diagonal (2") for SCT Scopes BH #CEDM2S • MFR #93527 Being a 28 mm, the eyepiece would provide 72x . Note that the included 8se eyepiece is a 25mm, so in theory it would be similar to the magnification. Usually a much lower power is used, which would provide a wider view, like , Explore Scientific 62° Series 40mm LE Eyepiece (2") B&H # EXEPWP6240LE MFR # EPWP6240LE-01 or Tele Vue Plossl 55mm Eyepiece (2") B&H # TEEPL55P MFR # EPL-55.0

Q: 6. I have Explore Scientific ED80 80mm f/6 Carbon Fiber APO Refractor Telescope, iOptron SkyGuider Pro EQ Camera Mount, iOptron 1.25" Stainless Steel Tripod, and my camera is Sony A6000, what should I need to make it work?

A: If you want to mount your Sony A6000 body on your scope you will need a Celetron camera mount (B&H# CETA1.25). This will go into the scope in place of the eyepiece. A T-ring which will mount onto the camera body in place of the lens (B&H# VELANEXT). These two pieces will now screw together.

Q: 7. How many elements, in how many groups?

A: It has six elements in four groups.

Q: 8. Would this coma corrector work for an F/5.9 newtonian?

A: Yes, as long as your telescope accepts 2" eyepieces

Q: 9. Will this [safely] fit a 130mm (5.1") reflector?

A: This is made for 127mm Telescopes I do not believe this will work with a 130mm Scope. My apologies.

Q: 10. Is the 2" barrel threaded for the use of filters?

A: Yes, this eyepiece accepts all 2" threaded filters.

[2"] Ordered from USA to Brisbane on a Monday and received Friday via DHL in time for dark skies on Saturday. WOW
Very light weight but solid. Performed well with Explore Scientific + Tele Vue eye pieces on my Celestron 11 and would highly recommend.

[96.7%] I purchased this coma corrector after reading online reviewer's recommendations. I'm using it on a 8" f/3.9 imaging Newtonian and after getting the spacing correct I have pinpoint stars across the field. I would recommend this corrector for anyone imaging with a fast scope, you will not be disappointed.
